I believe the black plastic inlay/sole is necessary to avoid damage to the liner. Otherwise it could rip when it rubs againtst the bolts an washers that hold the frame. I'm not 100% sure, but it would make sense.
I find depending on the receptors/tnuts used and the liner sometimes it's alright without, but if you wanna keep it in for protection and you find it moving about then taping it down works in my experience. Just a few bits of tape looped over in between the plastic insert and bottom of the shell 🫡
Yaps. its true. specially if you gonna skate trough water or something...BUT you can use a regular slim insole instead ;) some brand even had something "cardboard like"... something grippier
tip for yall! Go to your local supermarket and buy a silicone baking mat 0.7mm thick. cut to size of your plastic insole and put to the bottom of your boot. the grippier side down towards wheels and the matt silicone side up towards the liner. Gives such control to your skating! 👍
I've recently got back into skating after nearly 20 years out of the game and still riding my OG pair of Fifth Elements at the mo and have been watching loads of your reviews to help me choose my replacement pair (been looking at USD, Roces, Razors, Them, pretty much everything lol) and I've found these Dominic Bruce for £260 and have been leaning towards them the most, this review seals it for me, always appreciate how unbiased and indepth you go... 🙏💯👊🖤🔥
As someone who used the 43-44 Jon Bolino with 276mm feet this gives me hope I could use the 41-42 shell. The only thing is I found the heel narrow even on the 44, did you find the heel very tight with these? I like the studio for the day, looking very fresh!
Classic throne heel area has always been more cramped compared to other skates IMO. It compared to the UFS throne was weird because UFS has wider heel area but smaller toebox...
My first real and new aggressive skate was the last throne, the blue one. It help me progress so much but at some point i feel like i couldn't skate it because that's to stiff, can't do top side trick on ledge with that. Last week i had a good deal when visiting singapore and bought it again once i used it for the first time it brought back memory nostalgia and the boots feel pretty similiar yet have a different, it doesn't feel so stiff like the last throne they ever made. I'm choosing it because i'm not feeling it with them, i know they said it's from the old moulding too and doesn't want to use roces than i'm really glad using mesmer. For my suprise i can do top acid easily with this but the first thing i notice is the stock spec are pretty damn fast, i love to skate slow tbh haha. Flat set up isn't my go too because i'm not good with wheel bite but this thing is so much different they're not gripping at all and i couldn't understand why. The skate feel the same with the last throne yet so different
I knew it, I figured that they were thrones, rebranded thrones really with a new sole, (no more tumor plates lol). That sole looks familiar as well, I want to say NIMH or something, maybe not those but that sole looks familiar... So these are a throne with NIMH soles, interesting. Billy, I love his throne stuff, I think some of his best footage was on thrones so it makes sense he brings them back in this way. I used to love thrones so maybe give these a shot eventually.
Thought the plastic plate was pointless too til I saw what the bottom of my liner looks like after wearing on the metal from the frame hard wear! Keep them on!
They’re basically the same besides bauer skates being hi-lo (smaller front two wheels like 76-76 usually) and the back two being both 80mm. If you don’t mind being on your toes a little bit more then they’re great. Oh also forgot to mention you might want harder wheels since hockey skates are usually a bit softer
Great review. I'd really like to try Mesmers but I cant skate anything that doesn't have a 45 degree strap. It makes or breaks skates for me. I feel like 45 degree straps as an area are sorely under-looked and under-developed when it comes to skates.
Assuming the shell isn't too big for my foot, I find cranking down the appropriate lace holes does the same if not a better job then a 45° strap for me. I feel like I see more people removing them then I do adding them to skates, but I guess it comes down to how your foot fits in each specific shell and liner. My point is I wouldn't let that put you off trying different skates. And if they really don't work for you without a 45° strap you can fit one on. If you don't want to drill the holes you could find something to use as a crank strap. Powerslide/Myfit made a modern version a while back out of strong velcro I think it was.
Really like the look of the Bolinos, these not so much. But really, is it the dual sizing that makes them look like so bulky? Feels like if they looked slicker i would be down. But they always looks so weird on feet in videos.
If you’re buying any skate already in discount it won’t be 20 as I said in the video. But total should ALWAYS BE more than 20% from original price. If not DM via instagram the product please
Hi there I believe u made a right choice for going ur size don’t ever size down I did that for past 6 years an my nails got mess up had to pay doctor for treatment to regain my nails back I’m just looking out the only way u can down size if u put ur foot in the shell an if u got a 1/2 inch in the room then u can get very tin liners an then ya but keep in mind the minute they brake in u gonna have to get more liners bc the cuff an bolts gonna b dig in into ur feet on the sides an shins best of luck 🤞 to u an ur new skates plus remember they are the old throne just a new soul plate that’s all same mold nuthin is different u can do the research an ull see it
@RicardoLino Hey, new skater question, I have a flatfoot that means I need special shoes or soles inserts, I talked with the vandor and he said I should get one size larger bc of it, but when looking my actual measurements I'm very text book 44. Do you think I should get a bigger size?
Don’t worry about that shit make sure it’s not squeezing your foot but it has a comfy tight fit 💪🏻 btw if you have flat foot/ orthopedic issues, spend more time walking outside barefoot 🦶
@@intracosm thanks! Ended up taking the bigger side, but got confirmation I can change it if it ends up not fitting good, tho I am a bit worried the fit won't be tight. And thanks for the tip! Never thought about it
@@okashiromi5541 I don't know if you've realised this, but sadly the next size is the biggest shell size and covers 3 sizes! It's the 45 - 47 shell and according to Mesmer internally (without liners) it's 314.5mm in length. If it's not too late I would urge you to return them.
@@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 too late unfortunately.... The liner is luckily ok for the fit. And I can use them ok. My main issue is my flatfoot causing me pain. But I'm working on it. Found some exercises to help strengthen my feet
want to get rid of the footbed but don't want to damage your liners?...trace the footbed against some yoga mat foam and you'll have protection on the liners plus grip inside the skates
This was an alright video mate! Thought some of the audio was off but you know me and Audio. Skates look sick I agree that buckle looks iffy but they always did. I often undid my buckles whenever my boots touched which sucks 😅
That is incredible that the 41/42 liner fits your 275 Mondo foot. I feel like you need to test all the other brands 41/42 shells and see which fit your intuition medium liners.
I would love to see that as well. As someone with the same size foot I've found sometimes with trying to use 42 shells it's not always the length but the width of the mid or heel section. I've had success with the obvious ones Fifths, SLs and most recently VIIs which are super tight tbf.
Ricardo u need to tell the people that if people got wide feet 🦶they can’t down side they are asking for trouble an messing up there feet or toe nails , I’m not trying to tell people what to do but that’s the truth ,I my self use to down size on skates an buying different liners an I always end up whit the skates to sell bc I was trying to push my foot to a smaller skate if ur a size 9 then ur a 9 if ur a 10 then ur a 10 people have to understand if u have wide feet 🦶 it is a bad idea to down size bc ur foot will never b relaxed or blood flow to ur foot if u want num feet or bad nails hay go for it but if u have slim skinny feet the. Ya u lucky an u can down size
The tongues are sick. Good for baggy pants, cuz you can tuck behind the tongues, like how DL used to do! Style points!

Thnx man.! Exactly what I needed to know.. same size foot and didn't know if I should go w 41-42 or not
Looking forward to the superfluid review!
The long tongue would be a lil added shin protection... Maybe that was said too... either way... Gotta Love Skates!!!
So the 8/9 liner fit your 275mm feet

guess it was said... ;P
hey i wanted to know if roller hockey skates can be used for urban riding and if u could make a video about them
Hockey skates tend to have smaller wheels don't they?

By using runners loop lacing you don't need a 45 degree strap, it properly locks your heals to your skates.
Killer promo code. Thank you Ricardo you’re a legend
Awesome review and also where did you find a chair for the house? Good stuff.
I love the color! Big fan!
I thought the Shadows won the poll? Looking forward to that review as I’ve bought a pair 😂

Intuition liner doesn't come stock with an earthy colour though 😏
How do you think these would do with a wizard frame setup? Comparable to skating wizard frames (NR, PR or Advanced) with a Them 909 shell?
I use usd aeon 60 size 42, do I need to go down 1 size if I buy MESMER DOMINIC ?
Nooo he’ll to the no no don’t do it
i like how the liners have laces too and on top, that looks like it feels amazing haha
I have been asking wondering if I should pull the trigger for a while now, but damn Im kinda sold. Bout to buy some Airmax 90s. lol
Where can I buy some skates what's a good website???
Do the mesmer sole plates fit classic thrones? i have a pair of classics that need an upgrade?
I like Dis Skets
