The fact that he wears the same outfit at 100 degrees and 10 degrees is crazy.😂
And swimming.
It's probably designed to moderate body temperature I use to have a pair of NASA overalls and they kept me at about 75 degrees regardless of the outside temperature
Why would a 70,000 Shelby Mustang go off road? To get a $20 Matt's Off Road Recovery t-shirt.
Because its Hertz Rental
Biden did the same thing to America
@@kevbev1524 Love from Germania. Every politisch does this. Here too. All Mafia.
😅
If you can't afford to drive a $70k car like a $5k car, then you shouldn't buy a $70k car.
This is why I don't own a $70k car.....................................🙃
5:15 “I ran over my own rope”. Love how Jamie made Matt repeat it.
Rudy's rollcage work is impressive!
To answer your video title’s question, Matt: There was clearly a large crowd enjoying a gathering in that desert. The mustang was, naturally, attracted to the warm blood.
Or the lack of high level brain activity😂😂🤣🤣
A mustang lusting for blood? Did you watch Blood Drive?
😂😂
More like the warm boobs.
I'm just thankful the sand was able to stop it from hitting the crowd and they all escaped safely. There wasn't any curbs or telephone poles to attract it away from them for miles.
That vehicle...So much engineering goes into staying on the pavement.
And they can barely do that effectively
@glenjamindle older ones yes, the new ones handle extremely well.
Nooooo! Ford spent less than 10g to manufacture that death trap and an illiterate dum-dum paid 70g so that ford can control any politician on the planet. You funded the plandemic, you fund corruption
no big problem, in many countries it can be difficult to find a gravel road already, not to mention actual offroad trails.
Yup, and then…
Rett is really growing on me. Dude is a wee young sprat with a level head and a keen eye for how stuff works. He's going places, I reckon.
Yeah I like that kid. His commentary is great.
that birthday group was so cute and happy to be saved.
FYI, this is a Hertz rental which partially explains why he did it. It's basically just a normal GT with an added Borla exhaust. Drive one in Florida and had a blast.
A normal gt does not come with a supercharger tho
Yeah, it's a rental. That's what the H means, special make for Hertz.
How do you know it’s supercharged?
@@sixpestit doesnt have one
@@sixpest The Hertz cars are not a "normal" Shelby. No supercharger. Its really just a GT with an appearance package.
Jaime is the most supportive wife ever, good choice Matt.
Cute as a bug too.
And this is why you never want to buy an ex-rental vehicle. It's a good thing there are so many clueless folks out there, or Matt would be out of business! But the MORR folks always save the day and put it all back right again!
Mighty Matt...bringing such joy into the world... standing O on Rescue #2... you made that girl's whole birthday party!
That Shelby driver took "Drive it like you stole it", a little too literal. 😬
"dont be gentle its a rental" might have been his motto
Drive it like it's a rental. Which is exactly what it is, the GT-H.
That crowd in your last rescue was starting to have a really bad nite. Then you and Jaymie swooped in, rescued the truck and got the birthday party going again. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Yes Went for the party, stayed for the sandstorm. That sandstorm didn't look very nice to be out in. I worked on a ski area up in the mountains and Friday evenings, going home from work you would find families stranded out there on the approaches to the area stuck in snowbanks in blizzard conditions not having the time they imagined they were going to have.
Anything for content. Next rescue will be the Titanic in a lake.
Never thought I’d see the day when Rudy would need rescued. And it’s good to see him.
Did he get a shirt tho?
His wife got insta?
it's happened once or twice in the past....
Soft fuel lines often collapse as they age. Engine gets hot and the pump suction collapses it. Things cool and it like never happened - until it gets hot again.
@@steve-hp3uq c'mon bro... have some respect 😂
Rudy should check / replace the capacitor, which is before the distributor. If that part is the original part, it may be wearing out. When it gets hot, it cuts out. After sitting for awhile, it cools down and works again. It should be a simple fix and replacement.
If the Ram has one I to would be all over it .....
It's a fuel issue, not a spark. He had swapped the carb for a FITech fuel injection system and after this failure, the truck would run on the old carb and also on replacement FITech kit according to his channel, so it's probably the brain box for his FITech system. Here's hoping it's reliable for him for the rest of the challenges.
That’s a great idea
Rhett forgot to give Rudy a shirt 😂👍👍
A big group cheering for you helping them out must feel great.
That's why I like this channel so much. I'm not into cars, but I can fix a chainsaw blindfolded with both hands tied behind my back. We were all loggers in my family so I grew up in the woods and you see anyone stuck stranded or walking away from a vehicle out in the boonies, you stop and help. That got us into some bad situations at times( the seventies were weird), but you still try to help others because you might need it yourself. I've noticed that nowadays its just older folks that stop and help. They know how to fix things, millennials don't know how to fix things and they won't stop to help a person out. Its a crazy world we got just now.
that was an enthusiastic group!
@@maruiacancerc You're welcome, I guess. Kinda weird telling me in a reply to a comment on another channels video, but you do you.
my fellow Mexican people haha😂
The Hertz Corporation rented Shelbys in '65 and '66. This is a throwback. There are stories of racers blowing up a motor in their car and grabbing a rental Mustang, pulling the engine racing putting it back and returning the rental to Hertz. The team got away with it due to the engine being correct for the class they were running. If memory hasn't failed me it may have been during TransAm road racing. I'm sure someone can clarify that. The guy looked pretty embarrassed after you gave him a shirt! Cool vid as usual! Where's Lizzy? Oh well....she's embarking on a great life. Peace and thanks for takin' us along!
I did the same thing there last week! I pulled out a 1 ton Dodge with my '98 Ranger! I've heard you talk about that sand so many times, but experiencing it was on another level. It's crazy how it sucks the power from your rig. I've heard you say that sand requires horsepower, and you were not kidding!
The reaction from the second recovery should be how every reaction should be. Full blown cheering!
Nothing like a quinceanera in the desert. Daphne immortalized on TH-cam!
That ramcharger is beautiful. Great work.
LOL, they all cheered when they realized they won't have to spend the night in the desert.
You, Robby, etc. will never cease to be doing rescues for 1-simple reason: the world will never run out of morons.
This one is hilarious
We’ve all been morons a time or two.
I'm sure no one at sand hollow in the middle of the night had been drinking 😂
When y'all pulled out that Ram and everyone who was there for that girl's birthday was cheering for her to get the shirt....
That's some good family right there. Love seeing how much they support and cheer on one another, with such a great attitude. Those kids will grow up right.
Latin family vibes, they know how to celebrate
@@briangalloway3684very pro family too. Love how they take care of each other, even when a family is >150 people.
She definitely needed that tee bro
I enjoy watching offroad recovery videos, and I've been watching Matts offroad recovery since I found it a couple years ago, and one of the other great things I like about it is that it made me aware of quite a few other channels I now subscribe to. Fab Rats, Trail Mater, RecoveryTeam, Robby Layton, Merlins Old School Garage, HeavyDSparks, Casey Ladelle, and of course Rudys Adventure and Design, to name a few, and I know there are more I can't think of at the moment. Thanks Matt for all the entertainment your channel has given me as well as turning me on to so many others I now enjoy. Best wishes to you, your family and your crew and all your friends. Thanks Matt!
Happy birthday!!!! Those people looked like a lot of fun clapping wen they got em out! 🤙
It is a Mustang Shelby GT-H which the "H" stands for Hertz. While you can buy these models used, they are primary provided to Hertz for rental use. The person could have rented it in Las Vegas.
So people come to visit Utah with expensive Las Vegas rentals and go off roading? Shout out to improvised Camera person Stefani!!
a few "extra long" soft shackles - soft slings with crown knots and self closing bights - to secure - take the place of "j-hooks" without scratching painted rims, etc...
Stephanie's birthday party group had great energy.
Thank u!
Hertz rental. Makes sense. 😂😂
Thanks for letting us watch!!!!
What a joyous cheer from Stephanie's party!! And the Mustang customer looked a little less enthusiastic about the whole thing. I wonder why?
He didn’t get the insurance on the rental and is hoping they hertz doesn’t see the video😂😂
Wow,
Man,
I can't believe Lizzy is missing this one.
Miss you already 😊
Doofus
Hey Matt, maybe you should talk to the local car rental folks about putting recovery points on their rental sports cars.
Those cheap bastards would toss him out the door. They don't care, its not their personal vehicle.
Nope, they aren't gonna do that just because someone asked
It’s called a joke lol
The paint job on Rudy's truck is awesome!
Matt and Jamie are great people who will help anyone that they see stuck. I'm still curious if Matt charges for the recovery though. I would love to start an off road recovery business but there's no reason to where I live in Massachusetts. The only thing that would require a rescue would be someone stuck in the snow ❄️. Keep up the great work Matt and Jamie you guys are the best. I want to add that I love the paint job on Rudy's Ramcharger and I'm looking forward to seeing it in action at the OnXoffroad challenge.
Jaymie is a BOSS in off road recovery! 👍👊
In her OSHA approved sandals! 😁
Dodge drivers are the new Mustang drivers, but the old Mustang drivers are still out there.
That paint job on Rudy’s RC is awesome looking.
Brett didn't tease Rudy about the tow! I like that~! Two fine young men! Thanks for the video!
I'm sure this isn't how Rudy wants to do a crossover with MORR, lol...
He didnt get a shirt
@@mijour I doubt he got a bill either.
Matt’s is like a super hero, saving people’s birthdays and everything :)
Was that one of them all wheel drive Shelbys?🤦♂️I dig watchin you and and your wife working together, an awesome team. Dig the show folks I never miss an episode. 🇺🇸👊🏻
Nice recoveries Matt and Jaime!! Rhett and Jake got Rudy and Janelle hauld back safely so it was a good day!!
Rudy's truck is probably the resistor block I had the same trouble in my Ramcharger
Happy Birthday! That was quite the crowd!
dd speed shop had same problem as rudy , they found out it was interferance caused by the coil , if its the same thing the wireing will need re-routed or lots of shielding or both
Does Jake ever *not* smile? His attitude is infectious! Kinda like Lizzy's
Did anyone notice how Rudy was dressed to match the paint job on the Ram Charger? Maroon Shirt and Blue Jeans! Standing beside it he blends right n LOL
His sunglasses match too
Why would a Shelby Mustang go off road? Because many Mustang owners seem to have a hard time keeping them on the road. 😂
That's a Hertz Special, it isn't his it's a rental.
They saw a crowd and tried to get there :P
I see many Camaro and challenger drivers having the same problem. Not the cars fault it’s idiots that don’t know how to handle power. And also they sell more Mustangs then Camaros and Challengers combined. More on the road
@@marvindebot3264 Even more trouble, then! All the gear but no idea.
@@thunderroad7289 It's a problem with muscle cars in general; lots of power, RWD, American suspension design.
That's what happens when you prioritise drag racing on traffic lights over being able to turn a corner.
You called it a shipping hook! Good to see you learn and not be a stubborn old man.
I mean... I drive my M3 off road up in Oregon... have some nice skid plates on it...
but get high sided on flat ground it it rains and tires settle in damp grass... (when you wake up from camping and are stuck)
Every minute that mustang spends stuck in the sand, is another minute it wont slide uncontrollably into bystanders at a car show😂
Love the way you guys help each other out!
I took my Saturn LW2 on a sandy road to Borrego point overlook. It did get bogged down once but was able to get it out in a few minutes. The wide tires did well in sand and it’s was one of the lightest cars on the market. All the weight was where it was needed on the front end where the front wheel drive is. But that road had no ledges or real high rocks you could get around.
Happy Birthday Stephanie, thanks for the footage
Could you use a drop hitch and make a lower hook set up for when you have to tow these lower cars?
Seem to get enough calls that it would be cost effective to make one.
You guys are such a good team. Love Matt’s off-road recovery! Love the channel. Keep it up guys!
I'm glad they got him out of the sand. Nice job on getting them out. Sweet. Keep up the great work.
Before there was fuel injection we had a motorhome that would vapor lock in hot weather. After close inspection a fuel line ran along the frame rail. Across from it was the manifold flange about an inch from it. The easy fix was wrap the fuel line with aluminum foil shiny side out. Never had a problem again.
Some TH-cam wrecker channels use rim slings to pull vehicles out. Have you ever experimented with those? Since the tires don’t roll I’m curious whether they’d ride up onto the sand rather than burrow down. Maybe it would avoid tearing up the front or rear fascia since it runs to the outside of the rims.
Because it's a rental! Hertz has been renting "Shelby" gt's for a long time. He got the insurance and thought why not lol
Goooooood Morning and thumbs UP to Matt and crew! 👍👊👏
It may be time to invest in a set of airbags to get these things off the ground a bit to access a tow point.
Matt hope you and your team are well and happy, I live in Ohio, not much sand here but lots of ice and snow in the winter, The Mustang is a really cool car one of my favorites but they really stink in the snow, sand is about the same, if you have one stay on dry pavement
Poor Rudy. I know He was looking forward to the event in Moab.
That truck looks awesome. He probably still made it, just a little later.
He'll still make it. If you watch his video, he was going up to Wyoming for a family reunion (his girlfriend's family) first.
I was on a beach in Pacific City, Oregon in my Tundra with its tiny 16” wheels, on the north side of the famous sand dune, and saw a small sports car out there parked in the soft sand. It was either a Lexus or Acura with low profile tires and all, and thought for sure they were stuck, especially since the truck struggles in that soft sand. At the end of the day they just hopped right in and pulled right out and drove off like it was nothing. I guess it doesn’t just depend on the vehicle, but who’s driving it.
@@gunnytinmanyou are right. My old man drove his 1970 Monte Carlo up a road that one guy wouldn’t drive his lifted square body up. He stood there scratching his head watching us as we bounced our way up that road. The things you do for fish…
@RichieRichpobutproud
I was on a fishing excursion with my father inlaw and my daughter up in the Uintah mountains of Northern Utah. I was driving my 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier when we spotted a sign that read, "Lily lake". Right below that sign was more writing that included an illustration of a jeep. That sign read, "4 wheel drive recommended", but since we were fishing AND my daughter's name is lily, I just had to drive up to the lake! I only scraped the exhaust a couple times but other than that it wasn't terrible. All the folks up there with their built Jeeps and off road rigs were laughing at me. Well, I got to the same place they did but did so with my used $2000 front wheel drive sedan that all 4 tires cost less than one of their's 😊
Fishing, whether catching any fish or not, always generates long lasting memories!
@@Springfield-1903 lol, nice! We were just outside of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We bounced the front crossmember, tranny crossmember, slightly dented the oil pan but nobody was telling my old man he couldn’t get up there in that car. Great beaver ponds back there but we caught no fish!
As a side note, my old man spent two years at camp Hale during Korea. His job? Testing equipment. Jeeps, half tracks, 6x6’s on down to tents and sleeping bags. He had some skill.
@@RichieRichpobutproud
That's awesome! Your dad had tenacity and skill to back up his action of getting to that fishing hole and back home. As a veteran myself, I salute his service 🫡
@@Springfield-1903 hey thanks! He never saw combat, but had some great stories about life at camp Hale. The Colonel in charge was an avid hunter and was gone most of the time. My dad was sent out for weeks at a time by himself year round to test stuff. He had great stories about camp Hale and the Colorado Rockies in the 1950’s. Many of the guys he served with started many of the ski areas so many of us enjoy.
When I first saw that mustang, I thought it was one of those Hertz rent a racers. It’s a throwback to the old-school rental racers.
My heart is bleeding 😭 I've always wanted to drive one of these (ON roads!), but they are well above my budget. Well, there is still hoping! Cheers!
that is the 70K question.....
11:03 Now there's a young version of himself on YT when he watch this video in 10 years :)
7:20 that was sweet. and she did a good job with the camera.
Very cool to squeeze that last clip in. Bet it made that boys day!
My father was the king for taking rentals on dirt roads that weren't on maps. He never got stuck tho, but it always pissed me off
i think there should be flashing warmning beacons on all the recovery vehicles especially when pulling onto roads just a thought dont have to be big lights just any lights flashing would be cool i use small strobe led lights just cheap ones and they do the trick
Janelle did a super job polishing the roll cage and roof rack tubing!
Fun group after the Mustang recovery! Looks like they enjoyed the process! I sure hope Rudy gets his rig squared away. No doubt that he has been under a bit of stress with Holly having to leave the project and not having enough time to get a good shakedown on the RAD Charger.
Rudy has already posted his video on the incident - it was a defective fuel injection ECU. He swapped the entire fuel injection system out with an identical system, which solved the problem.
Ever get the feeling that people are getting mildly stuck in expensive cars just to get to meet Matt and co ?😂 maybe I’m too cynical and Halons Razor applies here😅 the family with the 4x4 and trailer were very cool, happy birthday Stephanie.
Defanie so many kids in Utah. They have to make up new ones
I'll guarantee that's the fastest car Matt's ever drove,😉👍, he just didn't get to enjoy the whole experience,☹, next time Matt, offer a free rescue for a 10min test-drive, you won't regret it I promise, and the customer will understand 100%, thanks for sharing guys.
The tow point… you laid your right hand right on it when you said there’s not one. 🤙🏼
I can see a MORR light in the future to match the one installed on the Shelby.
Some people don't need to be driving. Really? Taking a Mustang into the sand? Matt said it right just when you think you've seen it all you haven't! Jayme and Matt got em out and Jake and Rhett picked up the Rad Charger for Rudy and got him back to the shop. Good video!
Yeah!!!! Keep up the great job!
I remember the problem with the carb engine cars in temps like that where fuel evaporation in the carb meant not enough juice into the engine and stopping - used to get air bubbles in the fuel lines too.
A 3 peat of rescues ! Thanks for sharing !

6:46 some of the cleanest editing on MORR. Looked like Matt handed the camera-lady the GoPro and teleported to the truck.
Oh man this one brings back memories of getting my 5.0 stuck in an alley back in my college days.
Why? Because it’s a HERTZ!!!!!!!!
Matt, just a tip for situations like this, have someone design some car rollers for ya for off road use, so you can put them under the rear tires (It will give you the height to get off that rock under the exhaust) and then you can turn just the rear of the car without destroying the exhaust.
Inflateable Bag shaped like a sausage!! "Now your Cooking"
4 foot length of 4x4 and a jack. 2 of the most useful things when I was driving a tow truck.
matt maybe weld some pipes onto rear that would allow you to put on and remove eyehooks as needed . that way you could lower your rope even lower than you can just by going around your rear with rope. couple of nuts and they would be able to be raised and lowered and removed when not in use.
I am now wondering why the Morrvair and Banana don’t have 4 recovery eyes welded to their axles (one on each side, front and back). It would dramatically increase the number of rigging options and make low towing points very easy to connect…
Why not just use a drop receiver hitch.
@@delbutler885They r too low and get hung up.
@@duramaxdad But they can be taken on and off.
@@duramaxdad I respectfully say BS. The receiver can be set the same height as the axle and on a static pull it's the same height.

It 100% is, there's a emblem on the back if you look closely.
Rent-a-racer program. I could tell a soon as I saw the color combo.
Edit to add: Hertz sucks as a company so this makes me lol. They've been getting innocent people arrested left and right because they can't seem to manage their recovered thefts, etc. Tons of news articles on it.
