My all time favourite master system game! I still play it to this day! Also at the start of stage 3 if you drop down the gap there's a free life and a tornado to bring you back up

Great playthrough! I absolutely loved playing this game when I was younger. Looks like you missed two secret passages though! (10:27)On the start of Stage 3-1, fall down the first hole in the bridge for an area containing a chest and a hurricane spell (to get back out). (13:59)Next, on stage 3-2, in the RED section of the lava cave, you come across a chest on the floor. Don't destroy it. Instead, jump on top of it and wall jump up into the ceiling. There is a room FULL of treasure chests (most are empty, but at least two have items)
I thought I knew everything about this game, but that red cave secret is new to me! I noticed the gap in the ceiling but didn't think much of it. Thanks!
The funny thing about the ending is when it finishes it loops back to the original kidnapping cutscene. When me and my friend first completed it we laughed as it looks like the villain comes back to kidnap the girl again and my friend mimicked Alex going 'Oh no, not this shit again!'
10:54 This exact moment was stuck in my head as a faint memory but I could never match it to the actual game. It's the first time I see it again and instantly recognize the memory.
I ve always thought this game was too easy, but i tried switching to ntsc format and boy it got so much harder! It sped up the game alot, raising the difficulty level, and now I really enjoy it!
yeah its just brilliant ! Good friend of mine when I was a kid had the master system with this game. Last time I heard the music must be aprox 23 years ago. When I heard the music from the first level in this video I recognized it immediately ! And it gave me goosebumps ! Good ol times.

Hello, I've played this game on my Sega master system when I was a kid. I had 4-5 games and played them religiously. I want to let you know you missed 2 secrets in this game: - First stage world 3, at 10:25 you can jump down to reveal secret floor. You can find a life and tornado to escape afterwards. - Second stage world 3, at 14:00 you can jump on top of the chest to bounce up the opening at the top of the screen. It will move you to a room full of chests, but only 2 of them contain a heart/life.
Easily the best Alex Kidd game. Even though it's very short, the soundtrack is amazing and it plays better than any other installment. It deserves a remaster at the very least.
Good job, you missed these: 6:06 -> you can apply double jump leaning on the tip of the boat to get to the top. 10:26 -> let yourself fall into the first abyss and you get an extra life and the swirl medallion to go back up. 14:02 -> do not break the chest that is on the floor, use it to apply double jump on the walls and you will reach a room full of chests (although only two are full). 18:27 -> apply double jump to climb this red platform, jump normal in the second one that appears and then apply double jump to reach the final door.
I love how one of the audio channels has to cut out while using the fireball move through bricks. On any other soundtrack, it would sound like an error, but here it's awesome.
I've been playing this game for 25 years... and I thought I knew each nook... Thank to stibani, I discover something new today... wow, what an emotion :-)
God I didn't know I remembered any of this game until I watched this video... then I realized I remember ALL of it! what else is buried in this head!? Hahahaha!
This game was so awesome. Watch all the details. A ninja comes out of the water with airtank on its back. The bamboo forest. The way he swims. The normal and the power-attack. He can even crouch. And of course the attacks from the posts or these off-the-wall-jumps like Ninja Gaiden. Only great.

oh man. my memory of hanzo was so different. i remember him being hard as fuck to beat. getting really pissed about how unfair it was he was still alive at every new stage of his fight i was able to finally see. took me who knows how many rentals to finally beat him. but seeing it now, it's so freaking simple. i guess it must have something to do with me being like 6 back then. it's insane how your uncoordinated you are until you're 20-something, and how you never realize that.
Here's a couple tips. On the disappearing platforms screen right before the final boss, wall jump off the side of "platform 2" in the sequence to get on top of it from the floor. Jump on to "platform 3". From there, you can wall jump off the exit platform to get on top of it and exit. It's way easier than doing it the normal way. For phases 2 and 3 of the final boss, you can just rush him and not entertain his bullshit. For phase 2, you do need to give him a second to turn into the tornado before rushing him.

Originally, Kabuto (The first boss) was going to be "Mari-Oh". As a parody of Mario and even resembled him. Since the Alex Kidd games were all made by Sega. Nintendo's business rival at the time. But for some unknown reason, he was changed/replaced with Kabuto in the final version.
