THIS IS SO TRUE. The writers really did the character and witchcraft building a massive disservice in that way. They tried to make up for it when Paige was introduced for sure.
Technically, these are old techniques. One thing I wish Charmed did more was touch up more on their history throughout the years leading up to their existence so that the sisters had a firm understanding of where they come from.
Actually, I think they do touch on it in later seasons (even if just a little). For example: In a later scene, when they are trying to protect themselves against the townspeople (and Cole), Prue and Piper use apples (or something) and through them on the ground around them, and it creates a magical barrier. We see a similar occurrence in a a later season, when they are fighting The Source in their attic. But instead of apples, they use crystals. I think they did use knowledge that they gained from the past, just had to find ways to “modernize” it
I honestly do feel like if Constance hadn’t left the show after Shannen was given the boot than a lot of things would have been different - other than the more obvious details like whether or not Paige would’ve existed - and maybe the show would have kept exploring more about Witchcraft and Wicca
I mean when you think about it… it’s not at all surprising that these three don’t know about this stuff because the two people who should’ve been there to teach them where their mom and their grandmother, and we all know what happened to the two of them… Plus, Penny was the one who bound the girls’ powers so the only way they would have gotten them back is with either her unbinding them or with her passing.
There's a certain time in a certain way to where we can use our magic I just can't go around and doing all different kinds of spells and going berserk and crazy with it
at the very least it would have been nice for them to incorporate the east to west sweeping as a subtle background thing. if doing so fends off evil energy it's not much different than setting up a territory where good has dominance.
Prue is still "alive" in the comics- she is actually weakening the Power of Three as it is being shared with her. Cole is her Envoy, like silver surfer for Galactus.
Ancient knowledge is filled with ancient magic. Betting any male totems together with women ones will produce great results, like yin and yang ☯ in harmony.
It’s a shame that they didn’t develop the theme of witchcraft in subsequent seasons. their witchcraft is based on the Wiccan religion and they could show more from this, rather than just reading just a verse and everything is ready, and there weren’t even restrictions (yes, yes, yes, I understand their powers grew, but still I wanted something “down to earth”
I read that itwas because one of the writers left around the time Shannen Doherty left as well and they were the ones pushing for the show to be a bit more serious :/ I also enjoyed it way more back then, it's a shame.
Darryl: scared and clinging to his after coming face to face with demons. Darryl: getting choked out demonically and gasping for breath Leo: "I told you so"
The one thing that irked me is they learned some new innovative witchcraft techniques and it was never talked about again.

They also reference using it in the episode The day magic died S5E15

They never really do the broom thing again after this episode
Nope.
It would be weird if they did especially since they're trying to keep witchcraft unknown & Phoebe and Prue eventually gain the ability to levitate
@@BlackGirlMarvel Prue never gained the ability to levitate. She gained astral projection.

They should have had a situation when they needed the
power of four, and they had to have Prue come and help them in spirit form.

Love you sweetheart Ronan ❤❤❤❤❤❤

At the very least, they should have went home and updated the book with this original witchcraft knowledge.
Technically it should’ve had it since Melinda Warren was the creator of the book. It would be weird for them to not teach Melinda that.

Leo: "I told you so"
All this knowledge and still couldn't get a forcefield around thier house to keep out demons 😂
They use crystals around the house
