I love the Robert Oster Antelope Canyon and the colour of the Lamy Safari is so nice. The variety of your pen and ink selection should give joy to your pen pals.
Talking about cat routines - after I lost my German Shepherd to cancer in August, a feral Tom cat has been approaching the house looking for food. I purchased a bag of cat food after I first noticed his slim figure. Everyday after work I would put out fresh food and water, hoping he would find it. The ants were a nuisance so I created a moat system and placed the cat food bowl in the center. Anyway, success. Everyday after work I would feed and call “here kitty kitty” and wait. He started to approach later. And then soon after I went inside. Today, after his feeding, I was outside watering and heard him meow while sitting near the food bowl. From a distance I talked to him, telling him I’ve already fed him for the day. He continued to meow and sat there after I went inside. Someday I will be able to pet him. ❤
I picked up a used Platinum 3776 from Anderson Pens, which is a pen I never thought I would enjoy. I don't like the special editions, and even the base models are too pricey for me. But this dignified black pen (I didn't have any black pens!) when the course nib is an absolute dream! Brian Anderson also fixed my first pen, a Parker Vac-u-Matic that was supposed to have been fully restored, but alas, the ossified sac told a very different tale. It soured me on vintage, but wow, was I wrong! If doesn't dry out and is a joy to use. Right now, those are my two favorites and I'm so glad to have them in rotation!
Hi Jackie -- it's so awesome when we enjoy the pens we have in rotation! :) I may be able to get a nib specialist to make my 3776 write smoother for me ... I love the pen. :) Happy writing!!!!
Hi Chris! It's always good to hear from you via these videos! I received your most recent letter too, just need to find the time to respond back. Hopefully I'll be able to do that soon! I'm just writing here to let you know that some watercolor paper is on its way to you via Amazon. You've sent so many tiles to include on the website and I know you're planning for the 2024 inkvent too, it's the least I can do! Just wanted to let you know to expect it and so that you didn't buy it yourself in the meantime. Thanks always for everything you do for the whole community!
Hi Matt -- thank you so much!!! I have written you an email!!!! Yes, I'll be making tiles for the Colorvent and the Inkvent this year because of the generosity of of a long time pen friend and supporter of the channel ... who is sending me samples of both of those. So, it will be great ... the paper is amazing .... exactly perfect match for what I've been using too ... I used to be able to find it locally but Walmart stopped carrying it. :) No, I had not bought any ... it was nagging at me that I should but I had not yet done so!!!! :)
Coco seems like a determined kitty. 😁 Mine was too. I really miss my late kitties. Hopefully the Cat Distribution System has one for me in the future. ❤ A very nice pen and ink collection for November! Love seeing the flow in the nibs. I have recently gotten three Jinhao 82 and haven't inked them up yet but i look forward to do so. 😇🩷🙏🙌
Hi @sushanart Oh I hope a cat will adopt you soon. It's so hard after a loss but then there are so many kitties that need homes! :) Coco was literally hand delivered by the next door neighbor who begged me to take in the kitty because he was at max capacity and Coco was playing under his truck ... I had just lost 3 senior cats within about a year span and I didn't plan to ever be a cat Mom again but instead of fostering and getting a home for him ... within 6 hours I had gotten everything out from storage and named him and fallen head over heels for him. I love the Jinhao 82s they are just awesome! :) I usually swap nibs onto them.
My cats know their routines very, very well: wake up = treats time, then morning eye drop for little Tater Tot and the opening of Litten's favorite window. She screams at me if it's nice out and I neglect that window! Life would be so dull without them, I feel
Hi @StaticCling99 -- lol my cat Coco loves the window opened ... it has been a very HOT fall here and he doesn't get to have the window for very long but hopefully we'll cool off a little more soon! They sure are creatures of habit! :)
You have a pretty nice lineup for the coming month Chris. I recently got a new Benu in a Pen Chalet Mystery Box. It is the Benu Astrogem in Pallas color, a beautiful sparkly bright blue. I like the Emerald of Chivor so much I got a bottle after I got a sample to try. I especially like the extra fine nibs in 2 of my Lamy 2k's, and recently changed the nib on another one to an Oblique Broad. I also have the Lamy Calligraphy nib, and recently took it out of the Al-Star I had previously installed it in. Now you've put it in my mind to put it in one of my Jinhao 80's!! If you really like the Japanese style eyedropper pens, then consider a Majohn C4 if you do not already have one. This is one I really like that competes well with Opus 88. Yes, "Inside out" was released in 2015.
Hi Chris! I'm so glad to hear you recommend the BENU broad nibs for shimmer ink. I had been thinking of trying mine for shimmer as well, as they are so wet and flowy! I love how shimmer inks look, but I almost never use them. I hate the thought of clogging the feed, and I dread the cleaning.😂
Hi @lizbensoncox -- yes, I've been so very pleased with how the Benu #6 B nib units handle shimmer .... I am going to try the smaller #5 nib also as I have had trouble with the TWSBI #5 size with shimmer (in my Ecos) so I'm wondering if there is a difference in the feeds from Schmidt. :) I too hate feed clogs. It's such a mess to clean out and takes so much time!
Inside out 2 is a good movie- I watched it in the summer and it is interesting how our feelings can rule our lives. Definitely underrated. I absolutely love your channel but don’t comment much.
It must be almost November! Chris' Inked Pens is out. Thanks for the video. Terra Cotta, maybe?? Terra Cotta is a kind of (unglazed) pottery that is typically red-ish. Used also for sculpture.
Hi @Calcprof I have seen the pen listed as Terra Red but now I'm wondering if it's listed differently in different markets maybe .... I need more research. :) Happy November!
Absolutely adore your ink selection for this month, the colours are so warm and rich! I'm going to use the Drew Brown three pen method for now, since the end of the year will be quite busy with shopping, appointments and holidays. Everyone stay safe if you frequent crowded places, since November is terrible for novel respiratory viruses 🤒❤️🩹
I have that Lamy Caligraphy nib in an AL Safari and it’s always inked up. I love that Robert Oster Antelope Canyon but I’m still not ready to buy anymore inks. I’ll have to write that one down along with the other hundreds on my wish list!
Hi @lju5001 -- lol -- it's funny, I keep a wishlist too but often a few months later I'm no longer interested in something I wrote on it. It's the enduring things that never seem to leave my mind that I am willing to save up for!!!
Hi, i have the jinhao 80! One like yours and one with the gold clip. The silver clip one has always been scratchy. I tried the 1000 sanding paper, the micro mesh i can’t seem to smooth it properly. My grandson now has the gold clip one and it works fine! Since i have other FP I’ve kind of put it aside till i feel confident enough to switch nibs. I love the antelope canyon color ink. I have the cross FP of the same name, so i might just invest in that ink! Have a good weekend!
Hi Marcell - oh I'm so sorry about your loss of your dog. The Tom cat came to the right house! I hope he gets friendly with you! :) They respond and recognize voices so talking to him is great and their hearing is very very tuned to noises associated with food too lol.
A nice selection of both pens and inks 👍 👌. I've got the new 'Inside Out' movie on my list of movies to watch, but at the moment, it's only available to buy on Amazon UK, so will be waiting until it's a lower price to rent, because I'll probably only watch it once.
My cats expect breakfast at 5:45 am every morning. On Sundays I've been able to get them to wait as long as 7 am but then the head buds start from three cats. And Maui is sitting next to me right now thinking it's almost feeding time at 4:42 pm. We're trying to stick to a 6 am/6 pm routine.
I really need to have a talk with Coco .... my other 2 would totally not mind eating between 6 am and 7 am .... Coco is really stuck on a very early time and with this time change .... ugh .... it's worse. Not fun for me but I do get to bed early to try and have enough sleep ... broken up sleep is better than very low sleep I guess but I dream of sleeping thru the night lol. :)
It's so confusing I found it as Terra Red but at least 3 people have said it's Terracotta. And I had that memory too but I can't find it listed as that. :) Oh well. LOL
I think I've found a good place for easy pen sales, so I'm planning a purge. I've chosen about 8 pens to sell, and about 4 more to test, and if they are not outstanding, sell. The first one tested, my Kaweco Special , failed, meaning I can't possibly sell it. If I make enough (not impossible), I want to buy another KoP, effectively trading a dozen pens for one. Don't think I'll ever make it down to 24, but maybe 36 is in range.
Hi Ichiro -- oh that's awesome! Is it Pen Realm? I am not feeling I can personally sell mine ... I'm too hung up on possible issues with the payment apps and possible returns etc ... so I will have to come up with another strategy other than selling them directly. I heart Pen Realm does buy or consign. :) WOW, that's great to be targeting 36 for a collection. I'm nuts and have had so much enabling too so I have more than 200.
Chris…. You are so nice. If okay with you I have made a decision. I’m crossing my fingers so hard they hurt. Shhh…. Secret, that’s not why they hurt. If my disability application is approved I’ll give you the names of my 3 choices of which will be my very first pen and the ink I think matches. Would you do me the honor of making the final choice?

Enjoy November! Regards, from Liverpool, England.

Nice selection. I need to ink up Monteverde Olivine. Thanks.
I always love seeing what pens and inks you choose for the month. Some really great late fall colors!
love that Benu Guava !!

You got an Astrogem in a mystery box?!? Wow, you really hit the jackpot!
Hi @zeus52452 WOW what a wonderful Mystery Box --- I've been admiring those Astrogem pens they are really stunning looking pens! :)

Hi @littlebadger - I just love Drew's 3-pen method in theory but I'm hopeless when it comes to wanting the color variety for letter writing! :)

Hi Chris! I think the second LAMY pen is called terracotta.
It's so confusing I found it as Terra Red but at least 3 people have said it's Terracotta. And I had that memory too but I can't find it listed as that. :) Oh well. LOL
@ It’s a 2021 and it came out together with a Savannah Green. I only found it on Ebay and a TH-cam commercial.
I really like the looks of that Monteverde Olivine.
And I think your channel really needs a cat-cam!
Hi @WaskiSquirrel -- lol -- my cats are nutty little buddies for sure! :) Monteverde Olivine is so nice!!!!

@@ChrisSaenz13 I need to wait on Disability application approval.
