I also grew up with a shitton of the old games which one of them was this one. Its a normal thing, the game is buggy sometimes, like slow map loading, but its a good game, with good soundtracks and OST, and story, modes, overall the game is really great

As racer, you really should not stop when in pursuit. And when escaping, keep going. Don't try to stop and hide; police can use helicopters to find you.

When I was 6, Using the EMP was satisfying and it still is today.
Conversely, countering EMP in any matter (all pursuit tech except Turbo, Roadblock, and Helicopter) is equally satisfying.
