    Unfortunately, Ashley, you may get fewer viewers and likes for this reaction due to no fault of your own but that of whoever it was that originally uploaded this video to youtube. You see, there is a tragic true backstory to this song that elicits tears rather than smiles, and it was not provided to you. A cable car accident in China in 1999 took the lives of 14 people and injured another 22. A little boy was handed to safety by his parents, but the parents ultimately died when the car dropped off the cable. The song is being sung from the viewpoint of the little boy who is crying out to his parents not to leave him alone in the world. The woman who wrote the song eventually adopted the boy. As a result of not knowing these details, you were cheated out of at least half of the emotional impact of Dimash's performance. I apologize on behalf of Dimash and all of his Dears for the fact that you were not privy to the story. If someone recommended this performance to you, that person should have provided the backstory.

      @@waikikiwalt4537 Greetings from Seattle. It's forever frustrating to me to see reactors smiling and laughing throughout this song for reasons that are not their fault---and which could be remedied if those who have uploaded versions without the backstory would simply supply it! In the meantime, the Dears who recommend this version could help remedy the situation by providing the backstory at the time they recommend it. It's not fair to the reactors not to know the story, and it's not fair to those of us who watch the reaction videos to have to endure inappropriate laughter during this performance.

      @@dougfriendly7676Of course the backstory is a big part of the emotional impact of this song, but you should normally be able to figure out it’s a very sad song even without it. The first time I watched this performance i had no idea there was a story behind it, and yet i gathered from the lyrics that it was about a child losing his parents and the emotion in Dimash’s voice nearly made me cry. Even without having the slightest clue of what it was about. Imo it gives very sad, heartbreaking vibes anyway, and I don’t understand how you could find the performance funny

      Of course, many viewers will be able to figure out that the song is sad by reading the lyrics, although many others do not read them because lyrics on the screen tend to take away from the performance----and many reactors have specifically stated they don't want to see lyrics when they are reacting to a talent as great as Dimash. I think that might have been the case for Ashley, as she did not understand the story nor get its impact. She is not alone. I have watched virtually every youtube reaction to this performance and I can't begin to tell you how many reactors smiled or laughed nearly all the way through the performance. The responsibility for these inappropriate reactions lays solely at the feet of whoever uploaded the video to Dimash's channel without being thoughtful enough to produce the backstory.

      @@dougfriendly7676 Anyone who smiles or laughs about this clearly isnt paying any attention to the lyrics. Even if you dont know the backstory behind this, the lyrics and the vocals should absolutely glue you in that this piece is about a tragedy. These reactors just go on auto-pilot

    • @dougfriendly7676
      @dougfriendly7676 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rykehuss3435 Unfortunately the lyrics to most Dimash videos are not translated well into English. Even though the ones to this one are quite good, they still don't tell the reactor that it is a true story---and, for me, that's the most important thing for them to know.

    He’s amazing! You should also check out the female Dimash. Sohyang from Korea has unmatched power and clarity in her voice. Check out her unbelievable cover of Whitney’s “I have nothing”. You’ll be shook!
