Great idea! Just have the normals and then the Chef's build the most pretentious dish they can in an hour or so - but make sure the normals have to come up with the recipe without over assistance from the dev. chef! That would be great.
andrineslife not gonna lie, i would be awfully interested to see ben and james play Overcooked - maybe not as a main video, but in the community tab? Yes please!
Watching two talented professionals glide around in their natural environments and always doing everything with purpose is a true pleasure. It’s not often we get to appreciate professionals doing what they’re so talented at so seeing these guys do it so regularly is such a blessing and being able to see just how skilled and talented they are by comparing them to the normals is an amazingly unique and satisfying experience
Can we point out the production quality???? Its as good as a TV show. It's clear you invest your income in improving the quality of your content. You are killing it!!!
I think the biggest thing that tipped me towards Ben was he served a meal, not a dish. I’d associate a meal as being a couple or several courses, not a single dish. On reflection James deserved the loss for not meeting the cooking temperature on his steak, it was under and would have been highlighted if the roles were reversed like James did in the recipe-less Beef Wellington episode, it was a simple mistake and when Barry said Ebbers’ lamb was perfect that consolidates it even more, well played Ebbers! James you need to do us Scots proud next time 😂
James: "Time check" Ben: "Barry can't do it unless it's a round number." Jamie: "3 minutes left. You've only plated 1 dish out of 3 so far." Ben: "That's all James served." I thought chefs weren't supposed to burn things. 🤣
How Ebbers manages to narrate what he’s doing, always thinking a couple steps ahead so he doesn’t get stuck at a standstill and still remain involved to contribute to the conversation in the studio. He’s a superhuman chef who’s often under appreciated for the performances he produces
Kudos to both chefs! But Ben definitely won that, especially with the lamb and asparagus I definitely have to try out More importantly, BEN-NUENDOS! The trash talk! And the “escape pea” pun 🙌
So happy for Ben's win! (Ben's my bias❤) But I feel so sad for James! Getting hit in the 'nads on top of not winning, oof! Jamie needs to be more careful with that bell 😂
Wow, I'm thoroughly impressed! But Ben was the clear winner. His was way more "chefy", although of course both chef's dishes looked delicious. And we NEED the recipe for that asparagus soup, and maybe the lamb as well?!
I love seeing the comparison between him and the normals because Ebbers often goes for an ambitious result and lives up to it and not being unhappy with what he achieved in his time whereas the normals (excluding Mike) often err on the side of caution and play it safe to ensure they achieve what they intend and never choosing to choose a final outcome that pushes them that bit extra which would force them to remain calm and composed to achieve their goal
Yup, I'm eating my student days special again right now, rice noodles (vermecelli also works), cooked in chicken stock with whatever is in the cupboard thrown in (in this case a tin of peas and carrots, water and all). Add a dash of Worcester sauce and it tastes... fine.
Trust me, look up cheap and inexpensive ways to add flavour. I went with a bland diet for about 4 months and adding a bit of flavour helps boost it so much.
This is one of my favourite battles! Its amazing to see the chefs use all of their abilities since they were under time pressure this round. Very impressive
I love how calm, cool, and in control Ben was up until that moment mid way through, right after they told him how much time he had left, when he practically whimpered "awe..that's scary" That poor little cinnamon bun sounded so sad. Poor James getting whacked with the bell! James is at his most adorable when he's at least a little panicked. Those string fries looked crispy and delectable, but Ben's looked so fresh and vibrant. It was hard to pick. But I had to go with Ben's, between the gin infused dessert and the baby potatoes with the tri color roasted carrots, it just looked stunning. Both of them did beautifully.
The only thing I regret is that it took me till today to hit SUBSCRIBE after watching you mad lads test kitchen gadgets for months. You're not only blessed with culinary skill but you're blessed with a friendship and comraderie that most people only dream of. Keep up the excellent work lads!!!

Have you considered doing a sort of running "show us your fridge" challenge? We send in pictures/lists of what's in our fridge/freezer/cupboards, and you try to make the best meal out of those ingredients. Sometimes it'll be fantastic, sometimes it'll be a student's list at the end of the month, meaning it'll be some kind of noodle soup with porridge and tinned peaches. I, for one, think it could be interesting to see what a chef can do with regular people's shopping.

Esca-pea was vastly underappreciated. Don't worry Ebbers. I laughed.

R.J. Really not worth pointing out 😂
I enjoyed it.
I actually laughed out loud as well!

yes please pretentious battle using the useless kitchen gadgets that have been seen on sorted food
Great idea! Just have the normals and then the Chef's build the most pretentious dish they can in an hour or so - but make sure the normals have to come up with the recipe without over assistance from the dev. chef! That would be great.
I think Barry would JUDGE it, and each chef would join one normal!!
I think a pretentious Pass it On would be amazing.
The funniest line in this episode was 'Esca-PEA!'
For a moment there I was scared that that little golden nugget went unnoticed.
That's the kind of silly pun I love to make. Absolute gem. Ebbers could not be more charming. c:
That and James having his bells rung....
I noticed that and laughed a bit too much.

Ultimate Afternoon Tea Battle, Mike will be in his element.
That would be the best 😍
Jamie will steep some bacon in hot water and Barry will make some Indian tea he can’t pronounce.

YES!
Mike will be the supreme judge.
I love that James always enunciates "af" so clearly
James: the first thing I am going to do is turn all the hobs on

Well barry just would turn them on and walk away...
I can picture Barry turning the hobs on and then quietly riding off into the sunset😂

"A couple of fingers in the bottom"

Ben did deserve the win. It looked really good. I am a steak lover at heart, but Ben's meal looked scrumptious.
