I just took some beloved tea towels that had seen better days and sewed them back to back with old towels and made some super cute rags with a soft side and a terry cloth side. It’s like their last hurrah.

I’ve always sewn curtains, tablecloths and napkins, but never tried your project! Fantastic inspiration to all! Thank you very much

This was actually my first time making them too, and I sat their wondering why I hadn't done more of this! Very fun and easy project. Your grand daughters are so very lucky! Happy sewing!

Thank you. I just finished about a dozen linen dishtowels for myself and presents. I did mitered corners.... not for the impatient : )
I have 3 Singer machines. The one I use the most is about 40 years old.
(I am glad you think your machine is quiet.... because that is about the loudest I think I have ever heard...hahaha... perception : )

Looks like you did a great job! I like watching other people sew, it’s interesting to see how other people do things differently. It’s great that you are happy with your sewing machine. I use vintage machines myself, I prefer elnas and Singers. They are so much smoother and quieter than this machine.

The first thing I bought with my very first paycheck as a teenager was a Singer sewing machine. I had it for 40 years😃

P.S....I just subscribed. Thank you. I love sustainable projects, sewing, repurposing., making : ) I made a linen to sheet and pillowcases with French seams. Haven't had the courage to cut and sew the fitted sheet yet.
The floor and I like to remain distant friends : )

Where do you buy your linen sheets, do you have a favorite brand? I binged watched your Vlogs this weekend. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful ideas.

I've had a few brands, and loved them all. As long as they are 100% linen, I think you are good to go. I've bought from Etsy, Saphyr Linens, and Brooklinen with success. I only ever have 1 pair at a time because they are so expensive, and I just wash and put them right back on. They last for a good 3 years and get softer and softer! Thanks for watching my channel!!!

Andrea Clifford I have heard you can get linen tablecloths from Target and use them for projects.

How do I learn to sew and use a machine? Never done it and I want to make towels

Would not have used old sheets for this kitchen project.... especially since you talk about using them over bread dough to rise it....better a newly bought sheet set for this project and "yes" the "used " bed sheets....no matter how "clean"?????" we think they might be....a better use would be the skirts for your daughters....call me an old lady...age 79.... with odd thoughts, but trying to use the common sense God has given. Learned much at my grandma's as she sewed, also. She had one of the first electric run Singers.... Although I watched her on her treadle machine before that....although she sewed men's suits and top coats in Cleveland, ,Ohio....I didn't realize I picked up how to make a lining and wasn't fearful at all about making my little girl a lined courderoy jacket with matching jumper with a lined bodice and also her first lined spring coat for Easter.....but I did have to ask for help at the fabric store as to how to fit the pattern to her...(she was always small). and they helped to pick a correct material weight for a little girl....It was a light salmon pink checkered material with a lighter shade of the same, I believe and they told me to make sure I matched up the pattern on the seams and helped me pick buttons, thread, etc. The Lord gave me great confidence and it was actually fun....not saying I never had a problem with my sewing for her, but I'd cry, and pray...and things would become clear. Thanks

Haha! You probably make a good point! I most definitely wouldn't use sheets from a thrift store! Ha! I loved hearing your sewing stories! They put a smile on my face!
