Very interesting and informative Adam! Btw I wanted to know if you happened to consider picking up a ticket to see Paul McCartney at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on May 28th!!!! They're still not sold out and this might be the last opportunity to see Macca live since he's going to be 80 in June! I know you're a Beatles fan and I love your vlog on Ringo's birthday in Hollywood!!!!
You got me curious about this subject so found this video after watching yours! Someone visited the preview center back then and filmed it….th-cam.com/video/VP03-eg_JfA/w-d-xo.html
Morning Adam ! This is great,, I started watching this and had to pause to make this comment. I want you to know that The Daily Woo has become more than ever my daily ROUtine :) This is how I am pretty much starting my days. I have other family members, including my wife who also enjoy your videos as well. I find your content interesting and even though we have never met I feel as though I am hanging out with a friend. What a perfect place to base yourself right now and to share the local history of Disney. Well, now I will get back to finishing watching the video ! Have a great day.
My family attended WDW Grand Opening on October 25, 1971 (i was 9 years old). We watched Roy Disney read the auguration. I also remember after only 5-6 hours we finished seeing/riding ALL the attractions because not alot of todays attractions had been built yet, Tomorrowland only had 4 attractions (Monsanto 360, mission to the moon, If you had Wings, and the Speedway). We also went to the Preview Center in 1970, i remember they had a huge scale mockup model of WDW on display, as well as a really great movie/documentary they showed in a large theater about what to expect (wonder if the Theater area is still there). They also had a gift shop, I remember my mom bought me & my sister some mouse ears and a cool combination Dumbo book & 45 record, that you could listen to while reading the book
@@TheDailyWoo I also went to the preview center around then and remember the huge diorama of the park. It was the size of a small cottage. They had a few topiary around the building, (I think a Mickey Mouse, etc) but that was over fifty years ago so... The big round fountain in that lake had colored spot lights so at night was very pretty. Spent maybe a couple weeks+ in Orlando in 1961 or 1962(?) while researching places for our family to possibly live in the winter. We settled in Dundee near Cypress Gardens (now LEGOLAND). I was only about 5 or 6 so vague memory.
When I was 10, I rode a complimentary bus from the Hilton Hotel on Colonial Drive (still there, but now a charity building) to the preview center in the summer of 1970 with my older sister. I still have some 1972 pictures from early Magic Kingdom too. I was such a nerd that I had to build a paper model of my own WDW, with hotels and monorail. So, um, yeah, that happened. It was fun to relate that, I suppose. Been to WDW dozens of times since. It is so "been there-done that" for me that I've been waiting for grandkids as my only reason to go back. So far, my 24 year old son has only recently developed a social life away from the computer and video games. So there's hope.
@@stifledvoice cool story, not sure if my nerdum has you beat though. Remember those HUGE park maps they used to give out in the 70s? The day after wed come back from the park, I used to take an ink pen and literally draw our path we took at the park the prior day, and numerate (in order) the attractions we went on. Like I said, I was a major WDW nerd thru the 70s.. FYI- I stopped keeping count of my passing thru the WDW turnstiles when I hit the 177 mark.
Adam and Brickey, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!! This brought tears to my eyes and stirred so many emotions!! I definitely caught the vibes for sure. I always enjoy your videos but this was extra special. Keep doing what you do my friend!
Great seeing you both hunting down those historic vibes. Nice to see you both pay tribute to Roy, the unsung hero of WDW, DLR and the Disney company itself. Thanks for bringing us along.
Adam awesome video. It’s always good to double check and ask questions in research. You did an awesome job on this video. Love the history… Roy was a very large part of it all. 👍👍❤️
Born and raised in Florida! I remember all the press conferences and the pictures of the construction and removal of the orange trees! My first time to Disney was in 1976 when you had to purchase ticket books to ride the ride's! Awesome trip down memory lane! Such great and simple time's! Keep up the great work Adam! 👍👍🤙😎👽
I agree. But Disney for decades has become infiltrated by very dark people. I'll leave at that. You'll eventually learn about it along with a lot of facts of reality very soon this year when the EBS (emergency broadcast system) occurs.
Funny story. My grandfather and dad were good friends w Bill Evans, Disney’s famous landscaper. They owned an equipment co he bought from. When they were building WDW, they purchased a tree mover to move all of the orange groves from a company we sold their equip. The machine was new and unique for the time. They couldn’t get it to work, so called my grandfather. Bill flew him to WDW to figure out the tree mover. He did right away, a mechanical genius actually, so we always felt he had a part in the making of WDW. I worked for my dad and grandpa and Bill came in quite often.
Once again, a huge thank you to Roy O. Really appreciate this video tribute to the man behind his brother. I cant imagine where it all would be without Roy. Also nice to see the animatronics from the original Mickey Mouse Review.
Roy Disney was so special from the very start of the Disney Bros. Studios. His countless act of unselfishness and bring in the background, and his tireless efforts to find the financing for all his brothers dreams. Like the song, he was truly the wind beneath Walt’s wings!
When I was a kid growing up in South Florida, I still remember the news showing all the Orange groves being plowed down to build Disney World, my first visit was July 1972, and half the park was still being built
52 years ago my dad was a truck driver, he was one of the drivers delivering refrigeration units for air conditioning to the magic Kingdom and I can remember him talking about how big they were.
I met a man years ago who worked for a landscaping company that delivered palm trees to the area. He did not know what was going on. He was just happy to have steady work. Really nice man.
Been viewing ur vlogs for a good minute now. Did Uber Eats all over central Florida as I am a local myself and I’m loving that you give in depth back stories to the many locations I’ve been at, especially the attractions that have long been gone since the end of my childhood. Big fan!
Love the history of WDW! I really like how you put this video together. the research into the small details is awesome. Adam-this is great! Thank you for taking me along for the tour.
We really need to give Roy his flowers man, dude's a legend along with his famous brother Walt. Walt may not have actually built WDW but the ideas this man had for the park has to be appreciated for real. If it wasn't for Roy, we wouldn't have Disney World.
My dad did some work on the park when it was being built. We got a week's vacation courtesy of Roy. One of the best memories of my life was that 2 year old park before all the regulations and rules kicked in.
Good morning Adam, love the special guest, love the history lesson of Disney. Love watching TH-camrs we watch on your channel. Adam the Woo is our first TH-camr we started watching many many years ago and you have introduced us to so many others. thank you for all the entertainment. No reason to have cable anymore:)
One of the contractors who built a large amount of epcot to include spaceship earth and several of the world showcase pavilions worked with me for years. He’s now retired but he had a few stories.
I loved it when Brickey brings up the point that when they were doing the press conference, no one had any idea of how things would turn out. WDW would be so huge or the Walt wouldn’t be there for its completion. It really kind of blows the mind if you think about it!
My first Adam the woo video was River Country. Been riding along ever since. This is one of those magical times that you stumble into one of the top videos you've ever made. Awesome job excellent view into Roy Disney and the creation of Walt Disney World during its Genesis phase. Outstanding. Exactly why the Woo never gets old
I agree with your friend- why isn’t there a movie re: Roy Disney! I would LOVE that! So very interesting! Love the info u bring to us and all The hidden gems we don’t know or think about…. Love this!!!
Brickey is one of the best guest hosts that you have had...this is not a knock on others you have had on the channel as they are always entertaining, just the chemistry is strong between the both of you. Brickey seems "right at home" and doesn't come across as trying to hard... it's like when you have a great play by play broadcaster paired with a great color commentator... it just "clicks". Anyway, that is my 2 cents and now I'm broke for the day... Thanks for all the great content Adam.
This was a great share! I really really love to see you this happy you are so in your element and you didn't even go to a Disneyland or Walt Disney World Park!! Just being around that history is super cool! Looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you so much for the peek at the Bay Hill home of Roy Disney (and execs)! I never have enough time to make this trek when I'm in Orlando, so this vlog is already one of my faves! I'm surprised, however, to learn that it isn't on Disney property: I always assumed the homes were in some remote corner of the WDW property!
Absolutely loved this video! So glad to see Bricky out there, what a great way to begin his Disney adventures...Adam the Woo!!! I enjoyed this vlog soooo much! 🌼
Great tour. Have never seen the Disney and Fowler dwellings before. Super cool. I always get sad during this time in Disney history. I know what's coming, and it's still sad. Fun fact: When I first moved to Orlando in 1986 to work for WDW, I know I'd be moving a few times, so got a PO Box at what was the old preview center. P.O. Box 10,000. Used it until I moved back to California in 1990.
HEY ATW...SORRY I'M LATE AGAIN! ROUGH DAY AT THE DOCTORS office! The history of WDW is even more incredible than that of Disneyland! Thanks for an awesome vlog!
My family and I went to the orginal welcome center. I was four or five so I don't rember a lot but I do remember a model of Disney and a film. We then took a tram ride to Disney. It was so exciting. Lots of topiaries and construction of Disney attractions. Saw Cinderella's Castle in construction. The next year or two we went back for the grand opening of Disney. Thanks for showing the old welcome center!
Fascinating! I LOVED this, truly!! I never knew a lot of this and it's what I love as I'm walking through the parks....to know the stories behind it all. I often wish they could know how much true fans of the men behind this incredible legacy truly honor them in this way. AND how they would truly be amazed at what an impact it's had on so many lives, livelihoods, communities...really for the world. I can't even imagine a world without Disney in it....it's iconic, positive and joyful. Especially important during difficult times. I hope they know. I really hope they know.
Fantastic! I always say when we’re at Magic Kingdom and looking at Roy’s statue “we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Roy”. Loved all the information about the press conference and the homes. They talk a lot about Roy on the Key’s to the Kingdom Tour at MK. He spent the last few years of his life making sure his little brothers dream came true. Enjoyed watching this from beginning to end and a big thumbs up from us👍🏻
Hello hope you're having a great day 😀 also stay safe and take care and thank you again for the great time with you enjoy your visit with your friend. God bless all
I can't thank you enough Adam. Such a beautiful step back in time. Amazing video and full of fun facts. I cannot get enough of Disney history. Well done!
I was born in 1970, so I was too young to remember the first time that NBC aired the conference, but they did re-air it again on THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY a few years later on. I remember watching it as being part of a special on DISNEYLAND, with a preview of the new theme park to come. My brothers and I never missed watching the NBC Sunday television line-up. Right after WILD KINGDOM, we would watch THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY before having to go to bed for school. I saw many, many classic Walt Disney films this way. My favorite being, THE SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON. I just couldn't get enough of that film!
Great 'fun facts' Adam. I read the book, Walt Disney: An American Original which is a great read; amazing how Walt and Roy worked together to begin such an adventure. And yes, Roy was very instrumental in keeping the Dream alive. Great vlog with Brickey!
Greetings from southern Ohio! I love this vlog and the explanation of Walt Disney World. How sad that Walt didn't live to see it completed. I lived in California and had visited Disneyland many times. I must say, tho, that when I lived in Florida and went to Walt Disney World I really loved it so much better. So nice to have a friend to experience this with you! Thanks guys! Very interesting vlog!
Born and raised her in SoCal and basically growing up at Disneyland and being a true lover of the original Magic Kingdom and then being able to experience the wonderful world of Walt Disney World going to the park through you since back in the day has been a blessing but know it was a pleasure to finally get the true vision of Walt’s dream and what he wanted and to learn that his brother being true to Walt and to carry on his dream to create Walt Disney World was quite impressive and I want to thank you for that history lesson because it was fascinating and now I feel I know the true meaning of Walt Disney World thanks Adam now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure where it takes you also please be safe out there
That was amazing. Great video and great to see Brickey co-host. Your videos are always so educational. You left me wanting more. Thank you for this. Best way to start off my day.
Hubby and me love watching you. No matter what you do there is always a Adam the woo look on things that we just love. Hope to see some Disney park content before you go on the road again. This was such great Disney history that many people just don’t see. We really enjoyed this.We are huge Disney fans but have not been for a few years. You are always so passionate about whatever you decide to vlog for us. This is one of the reasons you are so respected and loved….We will See you in you next vlog. Maybe a sighting with Brickey and Best life ? Thank you Adam the Woo
Brickey and the Woo Great way to start the day 😁😁😁 love how you both look into the history and lesser known facts about the parks etc much prefer those kinds of videos as park videos just become a bit samey if you get where I'm coming from lol
@@TheDailyWoo to me it makes the parks n the experience that more special knowing the history behind it all, definitely made my trip to disneyland back in 2019 more special knowing some of the little touches n history of the park n the attractions etc
The athletic center reminds me of the baby center in EPCOT. Never knew some of the history and I always use to do Disney as my projects way back in the day in school.
I like history especially American history and, this is part of it. Thanks for showing me around. This was fun 😄 and, I learned something new today. This was cool 😎 to see. Roy was the wind beneath Walt's wings. Thanks for giving him the respect and attention he deserves.
Dude, I would quite literally pay money to watch you do the Star Wars Starcruiser. Are you planning to do this eventually? If not, I'd be willing to start a GoFundMe to get you onboard. The world needs to see Adam the Woo on the Starcruiser!! Thanks for the awesome content as always, brotha!
Hi Adam. I remember in an episode you talk about old movie Theatres. My name is Tim and I live in Canada. Years ago I bought an old 500 seat movie theater and I did it over. It was so much fun. It was built in the 50's kinda googie. we fixed it all over and redid the neon, that had not worked in years. The small town loved it and it became a very good business. I would love to send you pictures sometime, but I don't know how to do that. I love your channel. Watch it everyday. particularly like back road tours of small towns. Keep up the good work. If your ever in Canada, look me up. i moved on from the theater and have now opened a General Store in another small town
Remember well when Disney opened. My brother and I wanted to go but it was months before we got there. There were daily news reports of the parking lot being full and hundreds of cars being turned away. It was close to a year before we walked through the ticket center with our book of tickets. So exciting for me(12) and my brother (8)!!
@@HeyBrickey I only found your channel a couple of months ago but really love it. The video on the Disney trams was really enjoyable. Keep up the great work 👍👍😁
Awesome video. The background stories of Roy Disney I found very interesting. You’re absolutely correct that a movie should be produced on The Florida Project. That’s really was what I was kind of expecting in the release of the 2017 Willem Defoe movie. Though it was a good retrospect of I-95 and the surroundings scenes of Kissimmee Florida.

Some deep dives into how wdw was built and finished and how it began with Brickey at TH-cam/AdventuresInDesign
I heard lake Havasu AZ. was designed by him and the town layout has a lot of similarities with Disneyland

Mileage to Burbank is "as the crow flies". That's my guess anyway. Great video, and Roy should have a movie made about his story as well.
Hello hope you're having a great day 😀 also stay safe and take care and thank you again for the great time with you enjoy your visit with your friend. God bless all
Absolutely loved this one. I think its the connection feel.
Thats true Disney magic….Walt wished upon a star, and Roy made sure his dream came true.
Love this genius line so beautiful and definitely a Disney way to say it
I can't thank you enough Adam. Such a beautiful step back in time. Amazing video and full of fun facts. I cannot get enough of Disney history. Well done!
Have an awesome day Adam. California misses you!
Love this video...I subscribed to your channel for the Disney content so I'm loving these Disney videos!
Love these history tours, getting up close and in the history of it all, brilliant content Adam!
I really enjoyed this Adam. Loved hearing about Roy & Walt Disney. Good to see & meet Brickey.
Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for the lol at the end!!! I thought you were short! You not!!! So funny!😇
Love history on Walt & Roy Disney, Woo; you did an amazing job going back in time reliving the early days!!!
I had never even thought about this side of the story thanks for bringing it to us that's pretty cool

Absolutely loved this video! Roy never gets enough credit for all he did. He was truly a great man!!
Thank God we had Walt Disney and Roy Disney✝️💕
Hubby and me love watching you. No matter what you do there is always a Adam the woo look on things that we just love. Hope to see some Disney park content before you go on the road again. This was such great Disney history that many people just don’t see. We really enjoyed this.We are huge Disney fans but have not been for a few years. You are always so passionate about whatever you decide to vlog for us. This is one of the reasons you are so respected and loved….We will See you in you next vlog. Maybe a sighting with Brickey and Best life ? Thank you Adam the Woo
Very interesting stuff ! Didn’t know a lot about Roy thanks for sharing 👍🏼 Love the collab with a Brickey!
Brickey and the Woo Great way to start the day 😁😁😁 love how you both look into the history and lesser known facts about the parks etc much prefer those kinds of videos as park videos just become a bit samey if you get where I'm coming from lol
Agreed . I’ll do an occasional in park video here and there but I prefer this type of stuff
Love you videos. You're better than then internet for WDW knowledge and facts.
I really enjoyed this Video. Well Done!
Absolutely awesome video. History of the dream Walt had is so inspiring. Thank you for the info. Love brickey too. His vibe and eloquence is great!
I like history especially American history and, this is part of it. Thanks for showing me around. This was fun 😄 and, I learned something new today. This was cool 😎 to see. Roy was the wind beneath Walt's wings. Thanks for giving him the respect and attention he deserves.
WOW! I've been to that AAU building back in maybe 1998! Had to go there for my tae kwon do tournament registration.
looks like a fun week the 2 of you will be enjoying together. That was a great start to WDW history.
Great video Mr. WoO! Thanks for posting. Getting my SASE ready!
Fantastic, historic, loved this!
This video was a vibe for sure
You guys make an entertaining pair, Adam. Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that. Have a fun time.🤠👏💥
Thanks Rhonda . It was a fun day
Dude, I would quite literally pay money to watch you do the Star Wars Starcruiser. Are you planning to do this eventually? If not, I'd be willing to start a GoFundMe to get you onboard. The world needs to see Adam the Woo on the Starcruiser!! Thanks for the awesome content as always, brotha!
Dude you need a life.
Instagram is the best way
@@Regina0964 Thanks
I love this. I love the vibe like Mark said.
Its great they let you inside and that they have a little history wall - very nice.
Super awesome video Mr. Woo, really enjoyed this one. I’m a big fan of Roy too so it was great to get a Roy tour. Also love ur work Bricksey!!
Fun to watch, so many interesting facts about W.W.W....You and your friend , nice job...
The mileage to Burbank must be as the crow flies, Hitchcock would be proud
