      The thing i never liked about LS motors is that they have no tone to them. Its nothing but rasp. Id rather have a happy medium. For example a coyote with full exhaust. Good for me right.

    • @FoolishTunings
      @FoolishTunings 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Grombo idk i'd rather have a Boxer with Unequal Length Headers than Coyote, idk man those subi rumbles makes me feel some type of way.

    • @TheIrishPhantom
      @TheIrishPhantom 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FoolishTuning I feel like Subies have the rumble of a V8 but none of the roar.

    • @FoolishTunings
      @FoolishTunings 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tiny Turbo thats very true, the 5.0 roar is scary but the Subi rumble sounds beautiful at idle and can get very very loud.

    • @TheIrishPhantom
      @TheIrishPhantom 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      LS just sounds brutal. It's a raspy howl. Sounds much more intimidating IMO.
      5.0s sound very European and refined. A uniform rumble throughout the RPM range that smooths out at redline. Where the LS just sounds like... noise.

      I have to imagine that thing is as fast as a stock C6 Z06, if not faster. I'm an LS nut. The biggest reasons for that is because are relatively inexpensive to build compared to Ford and Chrysler engines, and they make 75% of their torque below 2,500rpm. Add this to the S2000 chassis equation, and you have a monster that really needs DRs for daily driving. Awesome video!

      Functional camber is good.
      Airbags are good.
      Constantly scraping around and struggling with a stone on the floor is bad.
      I have an S2K stock suspension its low enough, I have lowering springs I put on for track use but not practical for standard driving.
      Looking to get adjustable coilovers soon instead though, its not much of a bother swapping them out because its months at a time that i go to the track anyway.

I personally love the hardtop, the BMW M Coupe nailed that look for me. A shame the s2000 never had that option.

    A brake upgrade should have been one of the FIRST things the guy did. While the swap is impressive, it's borderline wreckless to leave the brakes essentially stock (an assumption, mind you).

      Realistically just using some decent pads would be more than adequate for this car in 99% of situations youd run into hooning around with this car. Big awesome uber amazing brakes are really only needed if youre running hard on the tracks for extended periods of time.
      If the brakes are able to lock up the tires- They have more braking power than the tires themselves can handle- And as long as the pads arent garbage, and the fluid is clean, its very, VERY unlikely youd heat-saturate the system with even a few repeated hard stops.

    • @Golf2Quick0
      @Golf2Quick0 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't say a big brake upgrade was a requirement but upgrades to the system should definitely been first and foremost given that big power was going to be without question. Whether that means a big brake upgrade, better pads, lines, or whatever... failing to do so is fucking ignorant. One can only hope the guy who built this had some measure of common sense. Judging by the lack of appropriate stopping power, it doesn't seem like it. His car, his life, his risk.

    • @TheSamplebridge
      @TheSamplebridge 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the s2k stock has some pretty good brakes. and as sidewayGTS said, if it can lock the tires it has more braking force than the tires can use. calling him ignorant is pretty rude when you havent met the guy, or done anything on his build. 400HP is nowhere near exceeding what the brakes couldnt handle at a drag strip or track.

      @stevepham8443 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nocturniss NiCK I agree on the tires, but the S2K doesn't really need a cage. The windshield frame has a thick steel bar that runs around it. Behind the seats there are two roll hoops that reach to the same height as the top of the seat. I was in an accident in my S2000 that involved me rolling over twice, my windshield was in tact, and only the plastic cover on my roll hoops were damaged. I walked away with scratches. It's scored some of the highest crash test ratings, including a solid 5 stars for rollover in japan. It's rare to find a collapsed windshield frame in a roll over accident on s2000's.

      When he says LS the first thing that comes to mind is a 5.3 LS1.. The LS1 5.7 is rare, which makes it perfect for something this out of the box. with minor internal work to the engine, the 5.7 essentially can be worked to be near identical to early Z06 bottom ends.. why would you think this bothers me?

    • @anorphan760

      An LS1 is a 5.7 aluminum block. commonly found in the late 90s f bodies and corvettes. 5.3 would only be a iron block found in trucks or SUVs. Still part of the LS platform but not an LS1.

      Bubby Yeager it's got a very similar platform and with how common the 5.3/4.8 are, a lot of us call it a LS1 even if it's not.

    I'm gonna be that guy and say that an LS swap totally ruins the characteristics of the car. Sure it's cool but the honda motor fits it better.
