Great video and photos - thanks! Pretty cloud days in Amish country are the best 😊 We love our unique town of Windsor - our great community, our farm land surrounding it, our Amish. We love being the crossroads of the Katy Trail State Park and the Rock Island Trail that comes down from Kansas City to meet at Windsor.
I enjoyed your video. I grew up in Windsor and it was a great little town. I have lots of wonderful memories from there. Looking forward to more on Farrington Park. Enjoy your adventures.
I'm from West Texas and have never been around the Amish. There are some Mennonites in the area who are mostly farmers and carpenters, and they work very hard. However, they stay to themselves and others w/i their group and rarely intermingle with anyone who isn't Mennonite, so I've never known any personally. I just know that their work and religious ethics are extremely strong, as is their support for others in their group.
Lived in Windsor in the late 1950s when my dad was stationed at the base only remember one paved road in town . Have good memories of playing in the snow and going fishing
Have been to both stores. Lilac Lane is my favorite. I was able to get canning lids there in 2020 when they couldn't be found anywhere else. I also like buying their bulk flour. Money saver. The people are very nice also.
If you see little tiny sheds on Amish property..it's a phone booth! Some of them have phones for there businesses, etc..just not in their house. I live in Tightwad which is about 15 miles away..🙂
Thank you you did really good job I really appreciate it thank you I live in Hannibal Missouri I used to I was born in Hannibal but now I live in Oklahoma City Oklahoma thank you again and have a good day
I plan to make a video of Hannibal in the future. My son made a mannequin of Mark Twain for a school presentation, and it was placed in the Mark Twain Museum for .... not sure if it is still there.
im not sure who gave you directions out there but boy did they send you around robinhoods barn! lol had you turned off of 52 hyway right next to park and gone straight you would have gotten to a curve and had you taken itto the left, Amish store was just a couple of miles ahead.
As a kid we lived in a small town outside of Kansas City, Missouri circa 1967-1968. My 3rd grade teacher was a Mennonite. She was the MEANEST and most hateful of all my educators. Math was and still not my favorite subject. Whenever I didn’t provide the correct answer, she used her “claw” index finger and thumb to squeeze both sides of my mouth and shake my head side to side, while verbally criticizing me. She was known to all for her “claw.”
In those days, teachers were permitted to do that. I lived in Troy, Michigan during that time period and my 2nd grade teacher would pull my hair and also swat my hand with a ruler.
Respectful comment. This is such a wonderful presentation. Although does the huge difference in volume - speech to music - take away a lot of the quality of your splendid work.
They may seem like nice people, but they treat their animals like machines, running their horses into the ground, then selling them for slaughter to the highest bidder when the horse is disabled through hard work and not profitable anymore. I don’t support their “business model” at all.
My wife and I grew up in Windsor many years ago! I miss it so...... Why did you turn the comments off on the Farrington Park video? I could have told you tons about that place.....
It’s a beautiful, peaceful area! Great to see this. I’m from Warrensburg . Dad was stationed at Whiteman. Thanks for a great video!
Thank you.

Lived in Windsor in the late 1950s when my dad was stationed at the base only remember one paved road in town . Have good memories of playing in the snow and going fishing
I think it is a very quiet and quaint community.
Have been to both stores. Lilac Lane is my favorite. I was able to get canning lids there in 2020 when they couldn't be found anywhere else. I also like buying their bulk flour. Money saver. The people are very nice also.
That is awesome!

Houses
It's a wonderful community I use to drive through there going to the Lake of Ozarks.Things there are quite different to other people's ways.
I agree.
Love these simple old towns! I live about 3 hours from Windsor and planning a trip there soon.
So cool!
my home county!!!! love those people in Windsor! had to go once a week before my dad passed!
I really enjoyed the people too.
We have many Amish communities here in Indiana. I love to shop at the bulk grocery store in Shipshewana!!! nice video! 👍😊
Yes! Thank you!
Very interesting to visit such a large settlement of Amish. I live in the Mitten State and can visit stores anytime.
I lived the last few years around Lebanon mo Amish and Mennonite pantries everywhere and boy do I miss the bargains and the beautiful countryside.
The mitten state = Michigan?
The park is a great fishing place. Cell phone reception is very awful in that area. I love driving around Windsor. Nice video!
I agree.
We have Amish here in I'll buy most of the things in the grocery store stent made by them they are from bulk boxes and are repackaged for their store
I lived in Windsor for 2 years. The Amish are cool. I was stationed at Whiteman AFB
Neat! I have a nephew-in-law who was a black hawk pilot at Whiteman for the National Guard.
Nice video. Looking forward to more.. love Amish country
More to come!
My husband helped to clean out that pond in Windsor years ago .
Please thank him. It is a very nice large pond.
Drove through Windsor all the time on the way to work contracting at Whiteman AFB.
Nice!
I lived in Windsor during the 1960s and I have no memories of seeing Amish people! Most of the town was unfamiliar, too, except for the post office.
Always wanted to go to an Amish store looks fun.
I hope you do.
I didn't know that they made maple syrup that far south and west. I am from New England where syrup is common and the climate is much colder.
The second one I think is the best and it is close to my town
I agree

Good to know for next time.
Thank you from Seattle!
Welcome!
The Amish are wonderful people. Another great Amish store is Dutch Country Market on 50 hwy at Tipton, MO.
Yes, I have been there too. I agree it is nice.
Nope..they do have refrigeration...run by propane 😊
Those buildings are poultry farms

It's Farrington Park - not Farmington. Other than that, a nice little video.
Respectful comment.
This is such a wonderful presentation.

Great point!
I live in Windsor
Cool!
👍
nice now but pray the left don't ruin it
The place is known as Windsor Crossing!
Good to know
Almost. Windsor Crossing is a Truman Lake swimming and boating area. It is out Y to PP from Windsor.
I thought the Amish don't want their picture taken as it will capture their spirit from them? Are you sure they are not mennonite?
Not sure!
Amish will always have a special place in my heart!
Me too!
Id love to see a walking barn
Me too.
was looking for a video . not narrated pictures .
Sorry!
Windsor, Missouri I hope you guys went to the diner
Where was the diner?
They run puppy mills
Please note they are not so unsociable as to not seek 💶💴💷from the English.
Why did the Amish Girl get excommunicated ?
Too Mennonite .

Slow minded guy doing the video
