Love it! I recently got my first stub nib (on a twsbi)- it's different for sure, but I'm enjoying it for lettering and playing. My favorite nib is a Sailor medium fine, but I always appreciate a good F/EF nib for every day use.
I might just need to play with it more. But medium nibs are my first loves. XD I do like the MF on the Sailor Mini. I wasn't sure if I would. It still feels more fine than medium.
I'm a huge stub/cursive italic nib person! I think it all comes down to the feel of the nib and how you like it with your handwriting. Round nibs are less preferably to me since I write mostly in print or a combination of print and cursive. The wider more boxy nibs (stubs and cursive italics) make my handwriting look more like "I" want it to look if you know what I mean. I also like the feeling of more nib on the paper if that makes sense? It's totally a personal preference thing though. Mark Bacas at the Nib Grinder has a great page with illustrations of the various nib shapes, and I found it really helpful when I was learning more about different nib shapes!
I completely agree. I think it is just a feeling. I do like a thicker line and I think the medium nib just works with how I like my writing to look. :)
Kimmy Vera Thank you so much. I love your videos. I’ve been putting up TH-cam videos for a few years but I guess I’ve been too random and undisciplined with them, so I don’t get much interaction anymore. Also, I’m very chatty. lol Anyway, I’m literally taking notes on how quick, detailed, and well edited your videos are. They are great, and I’m old and learning how to edit and do all this cool stuff is hard. 😂 But you’ve inspired me and I’m a subbie! Keep on keeping on!
@@TheGingerNinjaKnitsandJournals Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. I chat a lot as well. When it comes to stationery, it is hard for me to stop talking about it. As far as editing goes, it's a constant learning game. 😊
Interesting I brought a National Security pen at the London pen show in March I believe the pen was made in 1920/30 it makes my writing look amazing I’m not sure what the nib grind is but I would love to find out
I just ordered an Estie with a journaler nib, and I’m very excited! Thanks for the video :)
Oooh! What color Estie did you get? I might want to add the Honeycomb to my collection. XD
@@InsideKimmysMind I found a Lilac with silver trim 😍 the honeycomb is really pretty!!
I love that they come in both accent colors. I wish more brands did that.
I just ordered a journaler nib! It looks like it is a smaller stub nib but I just wanted to try.

Novice perhaps, but insightful and intelligent remarks...and very helpful. Thanks!
I'm glad it was helpful. :)
What ink were you using?

Vintage pens are so much fun. I love thinking about who owned them before. I hope you'll be able to discover more facts about your nib. 😊
Have you tried a Twsbi 580 broad nib? I think you may like it as it’s just slightly bigger than the medium and writes a bit wetter I really like it
Hi! Which ink are you using here? It’s really nice !!!
The ink I'm using is Private Reserve Sepia.
watched this whole video and still don't know the point of a journaler's nib.
Ma'am, the beauty of your hands blows my mind...
