He seems to have lost all control over his voice, unfortunately...not just in the higher range. It's actually painful to listen to. I really wonder how the rest of the guys in the band cope with this....it must be so distracting..
@@Imperialmusicfan They use in-ear monitors and Petrucci (and I think Rudess too) confessed he *doesn't have vocals in his mix* lmao. th-cam.com/video/yaoMwdHBAHE/w-d-xo.html
First..... time playing this in 18 years absolutely amazing!! Sorry to the haters but this song, and maybe even just the lyrics, far outweigh any contributions made by mike Mangini
@@EricPatton-NC no, you can't compare! Rudess may fuck up the intro (who cares, it happens to any musician sometimes) but Labrie is worse than a drunk old man in a tavern.
@@GianlucaCagnaniJSBGLORY I agree, he does sound bad. He sounds like someone who never learned to sing, and doesn't know the song at all. I am shocked they keep him around, but he is family.
@@EricPatton-NC This is one of the back sides of this new music industry. In the 80s/90s/00s there were some form of gatekeepers in the industry. There's a lot of bad things to say about the industry from those days - but you can't deny that the Label A&R:s were actually quite at what they were doing. They had good ears and would never let this drunken bar singer tour around and steal peoples money
With all the love I have for the band and James, but listening this masterpiece ruined because of the evident struggle to get higher notes and also the lower out of tune is heartbreaking and ears bleeding🙂
Labrie was never charismatic, just like Myung, despite that oriental mystique that gives him, but each one has their own role and obligation, right? They've always been asking for Labrie's head a long time ago, since the "Awake" days. It would be very difficult to remove him at the time of the championship...he would practically have to ask to leave. However, as an admirer of DT's legacy, I think the band's performance is being compromised too much by Labrie in these conditions.
I fucking love portnoy and I know for a fact that the next record they're releasing will head and shoulders above their last ones, but man! He is soooo inconsistent with his tempo! Everything is just always speeding up and down with him
James sounded much better as the shows proceeded -don’t know what was up in this opening show
@sciwiz57 thanks for sharing. Maybe also the sound engineers have polished the settings for the band as a whole with the future shows?
Probably my favorite Dream Theater song.
One of the greatest songs of all time but this the first time that I cannot listen to it.
thanks for sharing dude
TRAPPED INSIDE THIS OCTAVARIUM!
Top quality! Thank you!
Seeing portnoy back really makes me happy 😁😁
so Pink Floyd!
20% Pink Floyd, the other 80% is Yes, Marillion, Kansas, Genesis, UK and ELP
wow nice audio recording !
Where can I apply for James´s position?
I've never heard you before but DT please hire this man.
@@KwanzaaJuice I can imagine the audience chanting Pepe! Pepe!
¿20/Dec/2024?
I wouldn't be offended if James started lip syncing.
I would
7:03 OMG LaBrie singing the lower parts and even so he's out of tune 😢😢
Poor guy is really struggling and for sure he is aware of this 😔

@@Imperialmusicfan They have been playing with him for 40 years, I am sure they are used to it. LOL!
@@EricPatton-NC lol. Yeah, but he wasn't this bad for the vast majority of that time. It's the last few years where it's really become an issue.

And you call this 'professional'? Labrie must be fired. Half-tone below. Not serious. Any classical music agent would fire Labrie immediately. SHAME.
If Jordan can fuck up the intro that bad, then James can fuck up the vocals I reckon. Dream Theater manages themselves, who is gonna fire them? LOL

@@hullan666 he does sound real bad, like he isn't trying, or has lost control. Not sure what's going on.
This was supposed to be the great Mike's return, but instead James stole the show 😬
Love love love DT but sorry James. Time to pack it up. Destroyed a masterpiece

James is F l a t alot in this song.. again... Not sure what the issue is there but it takes away from the rest of the song and im a BIG DT fan
dude James needs to go. I was afraid of this in this Tour and wasn't wrong. Bring Myles Kennedy
without the singer this band will be the best
Labrie's voice is getting worse and worse, I don't understand how a band of this level can admit this constant out of tune which even becomes painful
8:10 Woman decides shes had enough of the terrible singing and leaves
