Figuring out the parry so quickly and beating Blade Wolf first try is actually impressive. I definitely struggled more with that in the beginning, as did every other streamer I've watched playing this so far.

From my part I did manage to beat Wolf first try... But also had to search how to do parry in the tutorial for arround 20 minutes before even going against the metal gear.

Fun fact the boss sound tracks actually help you understand the bosses motives they did this because there wasn't much time to let you get to know each boss before you fight them

I loved seeing the chat quote Maxor, it was funny as hell! I have a recommendation "Kerbal Scuffed Program" by Martincitopants (and btw, there are Four of them)
The prime minister wasn't calling him smart, he was just commenting on how odd it is for a soldier to actually hold any sort of philosophical belief or knowledge, because that's not their job. Their job isn't to think like it is for philosophers, but to follow orders without thinking about them.
It's the writer's way of subtly letting the player know that even though Raiden ACTS well put together, he's actually a walking contradiction. He's a soldier with a firm philosophical belief, and that could potentially lead him to disobeying orders; the one thing a soldier must NEVER do.
Metal Gear Solid is a series that loves to play around with things like a character's individual beliefs and philosophies. It always has, ever since the first game, and even though it's technically a spin-off, Rising is a sequel all the same. Despite it's departure from the more stealth reliant gameplay, and it's ability to SOMEHOW turn the zaniness of the series up even higher than it already was, Rising still holds true to the Metal Gear series' love for exploring philosophy.

I didn't expect you to be amazing at the game from the start, but if you're having trouble, here are some tips from someone who completed all achievements:
1. Any attack, even defensive offense can be interrupted with a block. If you're having trouble parrying an attack, try doing a defensive offence backwards, then blocking. The defensive offence will let you get directly into the hitbox of the attack before the guard, resulting in a guaranteed parry.
2. With flying enemies, you can use falling thunder to fly up to them and hit them. Then you can just use blade mode.
3. If you do an attack, wait a moment, then attack again, you'll do a lifter attack, lifting enemies airborne where they can't block or retaliate.
4. If you're doing stealth, its very easy to do the aerial stealth attack from a distance. Just jump and press the button and don't underestimate how far you can do it from.
5. You can cut rockets before they hit you with blade mode. Doing so can not only prevent them from hitting, but they may drop items.
6. When fighting the katana cyborgs, performing a sideways defensive offence will put you behind them, letting you attack them without them being able to defend against it.
7. Geckos (big things with 75% leg) will almost always get stunned if you block them as they're charging at you. when stunned, you can instantly kill them with an execution.
8. Sub-Weapons (rockets, grenades, etc.) can be used very quickly just by pressing the sub-weapon button twice really quickly. You won't be able to aim them, but will have an easier time using them.
9. Use AR mode a LOT. There's a lot of items hidden in the levels. AR mode will reveal all of them.
10. Using your light attacks in the air will let you remain airborne for longer, letting you dodge things like the Metal Gear Ray's laser beam, for example.
Sorry if this seems like a lot. The game is hard even on the default difficulty and I thought it wouldn't hurt if you knew some of the things I only found out after finishing it.
