This is Part 3 of 4 presentations constructed to help Business Managers understand how to best use statistical forecasts as part of an overall Demand Planning Process. Part 3 provides a non-technical introduction to the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that are used to measure forecast accuracy. It describes the most commonly used KPI’s, and gives a background as to how each of them should be used in a best in class Demand Planning process. A better understanding of the KPI’s will help business managers monitor the forecasting process, decide when to use planner overrides, and when to just go with the statistical forecast.
