How an HMV Model 109 Gramophone works

This 1927 HMV gramophone plays Fred Astaire sing ‘Top Hat, White Toe and Tails’ from the 1935 movie ‘Top Hat’
This ‘table grand’ model cost 10 Guineas - the equivalent of about £800 today, so you had to be comfortably well off to afford such a home luxury
In comparison, the portable model 101 was priced at £7 - approximately £450 at today’s prices. Still not cheap!
