Yeah, that peeved me a bit when they have the magic guy tell the girl about how love is what makes him grow. Which sounds fine until they added the magic tear that just accelerates the process. I wish they had shown like 2 year highlight reel where he grows bigger according to their friendship and love for each other. Add in the vet just measuring his growth and being surprised at every turn and the father being just as baffled. Really missed out on the mark with that deus ex tear.

I would love more stories involving big lovable dogs that interact with the world and if the writers really wanted to create one involving magic and tears, they can. It just doesn't need to be called Clifford. If anything it takes away from his mythos as it adds a question of whether or not he will shrink should the protagonist falls out of love or loves him less. Or even if the magic can be undone by someone else. It still looks pretty fun though and overall I do want to see the big red dog again. And in general I enjoy movies with pets. Especially dogs.
My childhood dog had recently just passed away and his breed was small/medium, but he grew to be a much bigger dog than any other of his kind. Now that I think about it, maybe the reason is because he was loved so much. ❤️

So lovely to thinking about it this ways. ❤️ We are still talking like she is listening us😭❤️. She was such a great, kind and lovely dog. You're describing the 2000's era, which would be "Clifford's really big movie" (kinda not worth it). Honestly the 2000s Clifford cartoon would of been a better film adaptation to rely on instead of just the books only. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this movie kind of breaks Clifford lore. Emily Elizabeth picked Clifford from a litter of other newborn puppies and was told that he was the runt of the litter and wouldn't grow much bigger than what he was. He wasn't a magical dog, just a regular dog that was small and red. The books and cartoon didn't need to explain why he grew because it wasn't important and didn't matter. Emily Elizabeth loved Clifford and her love for him caused him to grow, pure and simple. There doesn't have to be a reason for everything, and by doing this they kind of spit on Norman Bridwell's original books and the idea that if you love and care about something enough that anything is possible.
What a lovely movie!. i am so glad this movie was made during the pandemic because the story expresses that love and support from other people gives hope and we do need that right now. the ending truely tells that.

She woke up one morning and he was really big, and then the next day he was even bigger, and then even bigger the day after that.
@@curtthegamer934 I'm going to be honest I'm not a real Clifford fan it's just every time I saw an episode that we watch in kindergarten or first grade I always saw Clifford being like 20 feet taller than everyone so any episode that you say do you remember I'm not going to remember sorry.

The film is very childish and is very unfaithful to the series, and how come they didn't let Clifford talk in the film, and stop saying that this film is the best movie of the year! It's annoying! I rather watch cartoon live action from the 2000's like Alvin and the chipmunks. Cliffords design looks like some normal dog.
