I was wondering what my next obsession on Norns was gonna be. Looking through the Colorwheel code right now. Can't wait to check this out! Really enjoyed this patch/breakdown.
Thank you for walking through this. Especially bringing it down to the basic sounds (without effects). The only part I don't fully understand is how you are using Ornament and Crime. Excellent video!
Oh, sure. I’ve used O_C in most pieces for the past couple years, so I just glossed over that part. I use Quantermain as a four-channel quantizer. In this case I’m quantizing offsets into the Clouds modules to repitch the grains.
love the morphagene reel here! And it’s super cool to see colorwheel out in the world. Just out of curiosity, is the first output of the lower just friends clocking crow through input 1? I’m always interested in jf patches that are a little more interesting than just synth mode mix out
Yep. Lower JF is the clock for the case. The case config was originally intended for a hybrid system with ES-9 where GHOST is and so clocking was from the computer. So when I configured this, I figured, why not take the JF that would otherwise be LFOs and make it all trigs.
Nice, I always think of that kind of saturation before filter as like sandpapering wood, before polishing it. Interesting you're running with Dual Dagger. I need to decide between one of those, or a XAOC Zagrzeb to smooth off wavetables from Cloud Terrarium. But I've started to lean a bit toward Bastl Ikarie being another interesting option with the distortion, the dual VCA and the envelope follower and maybe more gnarly character. I like this use of Morphagene, creating reels in advance. Not arbitrarily feeling like all sounds HAVE to be created live for no good reason. Lets you get bigger arrangements from a small modular, get more from your setup and focus more on performing specific parts live.
Beautiful work. Question- are the outputs of Ghost balanced/ line level? I see that you're going direct out from 👻 but am curious if you're using a mixer or going directly into an interface.
Thanks. I'm not sure if they're balanced, but the manual likely specifies. I'm going out of Ghost and into a Sound Devices recorder just using a pair of 3.5mm TS to 1/4" TS cables.
Love your patch walkthroughs, thanks for checking out Ghost!
Interesting re: sidechain knob. I feel I adjust the time much more than the depth!
Ha. Makes sense, then why you'd design it that way!
gahhhhhhhh colorwheel seeing use like this is amazing! thanks so much for working on it with me ❤💚💙
Thanks for all of your hard work and vision 🌟
So happy to see you upright and well! Welcome back!
Wooow that is an amazing patch! Just simply amazing! Thanks!

Lovely sounds! Glad to see you are looking better from your crash! Here's to continual good health!
Yes! Thank you! I can turn my head now! I still can’t lean my ears to my shoulders or lift heavy things, but I’m recovering nicely!
the effort you put into your videos never goes unnoticed.
🌟🙏
Gorgeous textures, dreamy soundscape. Lovely 🥰
Magical as usual!
🪄
Thank you for these patch walkthroughs, really love them and learning a lot. Made me buy some noise modules 🙏🏼
Noise modulation is the best
Very interesing module will have to look out for that one. Great walkthrough really helpful
12:37 that sounded spot on 😂
I used to own the Fulltone version of the Echoplex, so I have lots of practice 😏

I'm in love with it
Very cool! Thank you!

Really really gorgeous patch! Feels like a modular Sigur Rós sound world to me :)
Lovely.
Sweet sounds! :-)
That ‘boo’ got me
Yussssss! I’ve been waiting to hear that!

@@Lightbath Cool thanks for the info! I'll check out the manual. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you in the future!
Very nice this Ghost :-)
Clouds AND microcell? Are you using both as reverbs or differently?
standard granular mode, and actually in this use case the reverbs are off to give Ghost some space
A funny toy I love this Ghost 😃
BOOOO
My favorite moment from the video! 👻
