ABOUT
Alexander Elliott Miller is a composer, guitarist and educator based in Southern California. His compositions have been described as “deceptively laid back in an LA way…inventive…unconventional (LA Times), and “wild…unearthly…lyrical…a voice worth listening to” (San Francisco Classical Voice).
As a composer, his work has been performed in Carnegie Hall, London's Mile End Art Pavilion, by Grammy nominees Aron Kallay and Tony Arnold and ensembles including HOCKET, Panic Duo, Duo Montagnard, Juventas New Music Ensemble, Boston New Music Initiative, Earplay New Chamber Music and the Los Angeles Percussion Quartet.
As an electric guitarist in the contemporary classical genre, he has played with JacobTV, Long Beach Opera, What's Next? Ensemble, Grammy nominee Vicki Ray, and released a multimedia album about historic landmarks in Los Angeles called "TO....OBLIVION," a 2019 performance of which in Pasadena was listed in the LA Times "8 Best Things to Do in LA," weekend listing. He frequently creates solo fingerpicking arrangements of favorite songs for his TH-cam channel.
He teaches composition, music theory and analysis and sight reading at California State University Long Beach's Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, as well as Theory and Songwriting at Chapman University's Hall Musco Conservatory of Music. - เพลง
I wouldn’t even bother learning anything else again if I could play this arrangement. I would just sit in my room every night and play this over and over and never get tired of it. I’m new to learning things by ear, but this is worth a try. I’m gonna need some luck though
Did you succeeded?
¡Excelente!
This is the best guitar version of "hymn to freedom" that I have listened to yet.
Thank you sir!
Brilliant!!
Beautiful
as a keyboardist, i love this. He really has a grip on this piece!!
This video should get more views! Great arrangement! Any news on the sheet music?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome, makes me cry bro , you are so talented god bless you
Thank you so much. I've loved this song for 30 years but learning to play it from your video is both a project and an education for me. I especially appreciate the inversions you use, as they really capture the flavor of Oscar's playing.
your best work in my opinion... but that's because I truly love that piece maybe...anyhow - best guitar version 4 sure. thanks for that. I am trying to learn it too
OP would approve!

I 'm also playing this song. Your performance is amazing! So I will use it as a reference. Thank you.
Yeaaa, you've done it justice. That was incredible. I love this song, since I've first Oscar play it. But this is flawed me as a guitar player. Nice work!
What a amazing arrangement!!! This interpretation really moved me, as did Mr. Peterson on the Keyboard. Congrats!
Very kind of you Arthur, thanks so much!!

Great job, Alexander! Super groove. As a pianist I love playing this tune with my trio, but I always struggle with the form. Oscar wrote it as A1, A2 ,B, A3, A2. But I tend to miss the A3, in which case I usually blame my bass player (even though he's following a chart.)
So good :(
great job
Thanks Edward!
Absolutely beautiful arrangement. Bravo!!!!
Thanks so much Theodore!
I like
Pretty fucking good.
Tutorial please
really great! sheet music?
:) Thanks, and, no, not yet I'm afraid...
@@dralexandermiller I believe I've listened to all the versions of HTF on the internet and yours is head and shoulders above everyone else. Amazing job. I would love to have the sheet music too as many people here in the comment section. I see a year ago you wrote that it's not available yet, are you working on that? Perhaps just a tutorial video with the guitar looking at the camera could at least help some of us capture it ;) Once again, amazing. I think Oscar would have loved it too.
@@danielfrank1155 Thanks so much for the nice comment, and unfortunately still haven't. Not sure when I'll get to it - I teach college music theory and composition, about six classes a semester, and use most of my free time to work on other composition projects, and make these arrangements in any further free time; I've thought maybe one day I get an album's worth of quality material I'd put some professional out along with some sheet music.
This is more than amazing!!!!
It's been 4 years since you were last asked for the sheet... Any hope you'll still make them??? Please do if you can...
Is there any tab yet?
@Max Lightowler - Hey, yes, there is, someone tabbed it - maybe email me here and I can get you a PDF: www.alexanderemiller.com/contact.html
