'm an Indian watching from Qatar. I agree with each and every point you mentioned. The color coded, brand named fake book stack idea is the most ridiculous trend.
It's insane how many of us identify with you. It's like I'm listening to my inner voice when you are preaching about interior design. You are validating so much of what we already knew, but we teetered on.
Well I’m so glad you’re here Jeanne and thank you for chiming in. In response to your comment, yeah right?!?! I suppose we all want more for our homes and are ready to do something about it 🤍
100% agree, especially on “Real Books” not just purchased for decor, but are your own read books that shows your personality and interests. I love to see people’s bookshelves and to see what they personally love to read. It helps to understand who you are and what you are interested in. I love a homey home! One where everyone feels comfortable in, as soon as they step into your home. 👍🤗🇨🇦❤️
I have a feeling your home is just like this Carole. I can already tell from your comments thar you are interesting and you’re a great host! And it’s a BIG NO for me with fake or decor books. That’s so sad like the book never gets to fulfill its purpose or something. It’s just decor.
I saw "anti-trend" and had to click. Trends have controlled us for too long either with fashion or home decor. I have boycotted them for many years now. You speak my language and I enjoyed this very much.
THANK YOU! I used to be so easily influenced by the “next shinny thing” but as I’ve gotten to know myself better and what I like, I too have been anti-trend and focus more on self expression. I want things that will last that feel good to me-saves money in the long run and I feel more authentic! Thank you for being here and your comment 😊
@@jocelynevaillancourt7573 You got it! And THANK YOU 😘 I’ll be sure to make a new home tour / inspiration video. I have a new project coming up soon-our mud room/ plant room. Needs some love. I think I’ll make a video of that too!
100% I've been waiting for someone to address this. Homes need to be personal and architecture should be respected. What people forget is that a home should have charm. Nothing adds charm like your own story, personal possessions , collections ( that are organized ) and a welcoming lived in look. Everything she said.
Exactly! We are speaking the same language. You bring the history, the story to your home and it deserves to be told. It’s the most intimate and personal space we will ever be in 🥰
You are a breath of fresh air. I appreciate that you emphasize making our homes specific to our lives rather than what is trending for this year. Keep it up!
Wow, thank you! I appreciate you saying that. Home so important and should reflect who we are rather than what someone else says is the latest trend. Appreciate you being here Nancy!
You're right. I think why milinieals are so nostalgic in general, is because I think this generation endured such a rapidly changing society with technology and whatnot, that we crave a solid grounding and foundation. We need a safe and familiar place to call home.
Beautifully said 🤍 and I think you’re on to something. Everything is moving so fast and our home is where we all (hopefully) can be ourselves and feel nurtured.
Yesssssssss finally …. I think I’ve found my design corner of the internet! Integrity, honesty and sense of self as basis of space decoration. Thank you!!!!
I cannot thank you enough for mentioning (multiple times) the importance of honoring the architecture of a house and not tearing everything out and making it modern. As someone who lives in the San Francisco area, I can't tell you how much my heart breaks for all of the historic Victorian homes that have been completely gutted inside and made modern. I think the Parisians do the best job of preserving the ornate period details of old homes and apartments while making them modern and contemporary with their furnishings. Personally, I find the juxtaposition of ornate and ultra-modern one of the most interesting but I also adore leaning way into a cozy English farmhouse style.
Oh yes TOTALLY. It’s absolutely heartbreaking I’m sure. I’ve seen that here in NYC with some really run down places but for the most part much of it is fortunately protected. You know you’re right about the Parisians. I have friends in Paris and their flats are very charming. Not perfect by any means (some quirkiness) but so reflective of their personal style and also honoring the history of the home. I too like those little bits of modern added on to an older home. England has some lovely homes with modern sunrooms-that’s the best. I love those actually. It’s kind of like a combination of what you like. The best of both worlds. I too love English cottage. Wow you’ve got me thinking of so many things now 😂 I’m all over the place! Thank you for the inspiration and being here!
We bought an old place and renovated and furnished it to personal liking. Gosh, what a surprise when it was all done and every person who visited commented on how lovely it was. I said "really?". It just felt natural and right. And I have never done something like this before. It all came together as I went about it from the heart and constant visualisation of living in the space. It worked out just fine. I still don't think it is amazing. It just feels good to be in.
I think if we follow our heart when decorating we’ll inevitably create something that feels good. I think you did that! I’m all about the energy of the home ✨✨✨
I have been married over 50 years and I’ve accumulated a lot of history. I still appreciate a stylish home, not a granny house. I love that you want to honor the people who live in a home, not just follow a particular style trend. The more that influencers like yourself encourage including personal items that represents our life experiences the less generic our homes will become. The trick is making everything work together. More content on that subject would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Very well spoken, I get the open concept, airy look, but these trends just don't feel homey to me, I've always loved earth tone/late colors & a lot of wood elements, so tired of all white/gray, those looks just give icy feeling, truly love your contents!
I hear you! I too love wood elements and warmth in my home. A nurturing space is my jam indeed! I’m so happy you’re here Emilia, luv! Have a look at the other videos on my page. I strive to deliver out of the box, creative and artistic perspectives to create a home that feels like the person living in it! That’s so important for our wellbeing and confidence ❤️ Thank you for being here and spending your time with me 😘
Ohmygosh I’m an editing nightmare haha. I can say that because I do my own editing 😂 but I’m so happy that you like it 🥰 I also just want to be myself. I’m not very good at acting!
I don’t normally comment on TH-cam but just wanted to say how much I resonate with you and I’m loving your videos. Please don’t doubt yourself when it comes to presenting your ideas. You are very clear and easy to follow and the way you pick photos to reinforce your message is spot on! Please do more videos on small home ideas. I’m from the UK and my space is tiny but I’ve already got loads of great ideas from you! Thank you so much x
Oh wonderful!! Yes I will do more small homes. I have a small playlist right now (lol), just two videos (bedroom & living room), but it’s geared toward small spaces. Check that out if you feel inspired! Thank you for being here and dropping a line. Really enjoyed hearing from you 🤗 Also feel free to chime in here with the problems you are facing so I can be sure to address them 🤍
Dude I’ve been binging your videos this morning! I love your perspective and approach to interior design! Your videos put into words everything I’ve had in my head while educating myself and gathering inspo! I know your channel will be successful and I’m glad I found you early on!!! Keep it up sister!!!! 🫶🏼
Awww thank you so much babe! I'm so happy you're here and I hope to keep inspiring you--also I love the fact that you opened with DUDE. We're immediate friends now, Lauren. XOXOXCD
As a sporadic artist, always recreating my space, struggling much of the time to manifest the misty ideas of what is inside my head and soul into my home, I truly appreciate your newly-discovered videos. And please don't be concerned about being linear in your presentation, I understand the scattered ideas that come up. That's why my home looks the way it does.😂😂
Thank you 🙌😂 you get me 🥰 I look forward to helping you wrangle those ideas Elizabeth , but most importantly, to get clarity in the manifestation of your vision. You will get there and I hope to make the process fun for you 😘
OMG you have no idea how much I needed to find your TH-cam cannel, new subscriber. I bought a house, soon 6 years ago and Iv'e been struggling to design it. Iv'e always designed/lived after the consept and style you talk about. People have always loved my places and thought they were so me (artist too) different and home lived. Now Iv'e just totally gotten lost in all the trends out there and can't 100% find my old self for this house. You woke up a little something in me that Ive been needing, thank you for that. Will be following you.
That's beautiful 🤍 wow. I'm am so happy this video work up the artist in you. You're going to get there and let the real you back out and into your home.
Thank you! I am absolutely tired of seeing interiors with nothing but beige, boring, bland decor and furnishings that look like nobody lives in them. They are NOT interesting, there is NO personality, and they are everywhere and on every video (which makes them even less interesting). I agree that your home should reflect you and your taste. If your design choices (or creative choices) are the choices that everyone is making, then it’s really not a choice. Taste means that you have and express an opinion…that you have a point of view. Do what feels good to you and not what feels good to everyone else. Make your own choices and be uniquely you!
You are speaking my language babe 🙌 Creative choices should reflect our opinions otherwise what’s the point? We waste our expression and our creativity. Thank you for your comment. Loved it 😘
So refreshing to find this viewpoint on TH-cam. I have literally been starved of good design on all the platforms because everything looks the same. I also love the idea of honoring the home and its landscape. Thank you for your unique point of view.
Yes Naomi! This is why I started the channel. As I was going through my own home renovation and decorating journey I was disappointed seeing that everything looked the same. I decided to dive deep, question things-what I really like (vs influenced) and what home mean to me. So glad you are here 🤍
Beautiful artwork. For me, the draw to the current trending/minimal style and palette is how cohesive and relaxing the rooms are to the eye. The challenge in creating a "homey home" is maintaining a cohesive and relaxed vibe without inviting all of the clutter. We are definitely seeing a shift to warm, cozy spaces.
But they aren't even minimal -- having large homes with room-sized costs for all your stuff isn't minimal, neither is restocking one's storage spaces with unnecessary "aesthetic" finds.
It’s definitely not a minimal lifestyle to have excess, so yes I do agree with you 100%. I also think if someone wants a homey style home, then they must be organized otherwise it does look cluttered as you say. (I do not like clutter myself. I get anxiety from it and have difficulty thinking. I lived with someone that developed a hoarding habit and it was unbearable for me.) On the same note, I like a home that feels warm, balanced, and is a place for the things that bring me joy-but in a neat and organized way.
A breath of fresh air! Yes! Thank you! I have been feeling this, and after following the crowd to have a cookie cutter look yet never successfully achieving it and wondering why,,,,,,,,,,your channel appeared and I was "Yes", that is it. Your words of wisdom are like a breath of fresh air. Emotionally I was never in alignment with my home looking like.........everyone else's! Before the Internet I enjoyed my homes and my decorating, never questioning, my ability. Then, I trapped myself into believing that I had it all wrong, and I proceeded down someone else's path. Oh My! Slowly now, I am undoing the trendy and going back to embracing "my story". I subscribed to your channel because you gave me permission to be............me! I have downsized, uncluttered, Feng shui, farm styled and I am miserable. Two days ago tho, I decided enough of this, I am going to value color, and the space I live in with the style I enjoy..........yet here I was on the internet again,,,,,,,,,,,lucky for me, you appeared! thank you! Wisdom..........you are sharing wisdom1. 🙏
Wow I am honored! Really this is such a wonderful thing to read. I couldn't agree with you more. Not everyone is meant to live the same way. I understand it's fun to see how other people style their home and like you, I followed trends in the past, yet never got them quite right. But many wrongs do make a right of we learn from them! Now I feel passionately about individuality--especially in our home. I mean, it is the place we can be ourselves. I don't have children but I always felt that if I did, I would let them create the room of their dreams. I think we as adults should have that same expression. Thank you for being here luv!
Love and agree with this so much! Just moved into my new townhome and wish I could show you some pics! When we were building I explored a lot about what I wanted and this homey home thing is it!
Jennifer! 🥰 You just gave me an idea to give you all my email address so we can share and discuss our homes!!! Our home should be “homey” that doesn’t mean frumpy but that it should speak our own personal langue and communicate who we are. I love this!! I’m going to share my email on the next video so we can do this 🤍🤍🤍 love love LOVE!
Thank-you for this perspective. Following trends would be exhausting as well as inauthentic. Following design principles of scale, etc. can be applied to any decor and make it work better. I appreciate your encouragement to just aim for living in a homey home! Wouldn’t that be a lovely new trend?
Well said! I believe that more and more people resonate with this. It’s about creating a space that you love that loves you back. As you said, design principals can be applied to any decor-and in the process we create our own signature style. I love it! Thank you for being part of this new community ☺️
So informative! It introduces the idea of an "anti-trend" in interior design, emphasizing the importance of personal style over following mainstream trends, encouraging viewers to embrace what truly resonates with them.
YES! You hit the nail right on the head Alice! This is what I hope to bring to you on this channel-INSPIRATION to be unique and self expressive in your home 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 🤍
Christina, thank you, thank you, thank you! I understand all that you shared and appreciate your process 🙂. Your channel is everything rattling around in my head, but prettied up with a gorgeous presentation.
Great video. One of the things another TH-camr I love mentioned was the difference in lighting for a cosy home, specifically the move from warm light to cool light following the introduction of LED. It’s a fascinating video and uses the Gilmore Girls as an example. A homey home to me has multiple sources of light and uses warm light more often than cool light. By the way your caption used compliment instead of complement. 😉
Hi KayElle! Okay now I must watch Gilmore Girls for inspiration! Can you believe I’ve never watched it? I know 🙃 You are right about lighting. We have a lot of warm light and then have some overhead on dimmers. I’m not a fan of bright lights unless I’m cleaning or baking. Oh and thanks for the heads up 😘 The CCs are auto generated. I’m not sure if I can change it but doesn’t surprise me. Alexa and Seri rarely can understand me!
New to the channel 1st time ----Bless You for saying this!!!! Home should reflect the individuals living in the home. I love watching channels on home interior & design but find after a while the styles become so "cookie cutter". Tell your own story.
I think my style has evolved from being "homey home" out of necessity due to brokenness and not really having extra $$ to spend on decor and new stuff all the time so I was buying second-hand or given stuff by relatives to having a little extra to spend and buying SOME of this neutral aesthetic stuff, mostly vases and throw pillows lol.
Brandie thank you for your sharing your experience. We are always going to find a way to make a place our home ❤️ I was brought up buying second hand and picking up furniture people were throwing out then fixing it up. I’m sure it made you more creative and resourceful-and also I think that your approach is the smartest way to explore trends, though more accessible pieces rather than big ticket items anyway.😘
Yes! Someone who decorates that I relate to! That isn’t into all “neutrals” and minimalism! Personality and personal to you because it’s your home! When you mentioned movies that inspire your decor, the house in Funny Farm is always one I loved❤
There's so much one could comment on in this video. I'm fundamentally in agreement with you. Trend fatigue is real, and thank goodness I've always had a personal sense of style that continues to evolve. But I have to comment on the kitchens that don't look like kitchens. I haven't heard anyone else put it that way, but you nailed it. And I suspect that many of the people who gravitate to them don't actually cook.
Exactly Melanie! I don’t think they do! Hahaha 😂 So good you follow the beat of your own drum and you allow yourself to grow and evolve-that’s the journey 🤍 We need more of that in the world!
Yay! Thank you! I appreciate you being here and love the contribution to the comments. I am finding that more and more people feel this way and I here to support them. Again thank you and thank you for being here with me in this journey!
You have such a beautiful way of communicating. I totally agree and appreciate the points you made for creating a homey home. I've been binge watching your videos. ❤❤❤
I am a concentric thinker too and I always have to focus really hard to present ideas in a linear fashion. I love the idea you present for having a home that is individual and not centered on someone else’s style. I tend to curate my home on what I like. However I look at other designs and if I find something I put my spin on it and bring it into my home and life. Thank you for the great vlog
Love that! I think you are approaching as a creator, taking lives of things that resonate with you and making them your own. I feel that creating an environment like that is supportive and encourages us to be individuals. Thank you very much for your comment and offering your spin on this 🤍
New subscriber. Thank you for this. My home is eclectic because I like many design styles. For another example of a movie with s homey home- For the Love of the Game. When Kevin Costners character walks into Kelly Preston’s home he immediately recognizes it -the homey home. Juxtaposed against his Florida condo. Great moment in that film for me.
Ooooh I have to rewatch that one. Thank you, Donna! I love movie suggestions for interior design. I just watched You’ve Got Mail. The character Birdie has an amazing home. While only one scene it made an impression; worldly, eclectic, and interesting to the eye.
I am in the process of building my dream home and in my opinion, trends get me too and it’s kind of confusing wanting to put everything in my home 😆 Thanks for opening our eyes up to follow our own personality when it comes to design. Will keep that in mind ☺️💗
Absolutely! It was something I was experiencing and I knew others must be too! We have access to so many options now and as such we must really tap into who we are and who we want to live. Enjoy your home building journey! 🤍
***Greeting again, from Northern MN! Im binge watching your channel...and loving it!***. (Oh! PS, I do have a collection of old books I use for decor purposes. The content is often boring, but the bindings are lovely pieces of art!)
A personal life story can never be "trend-driven". Just be yourself, and a lovely home will ensue! Who you are should spill over into where you live. Well, that's how I see it...Thanks for your awesome videos! PS I am totally art-nouveau driven, even though I live in a 1990's cookie cutter box of a house haha! But somehow, I have made it work 😁
New subscriber from upstate New York, saw anti-trend and had to watch. I’m 65+, have always hated and avoided trends not Justin our home, but clothing, toys when my now adult kids were little, etc. Our home was built in 1886 and I have always the very primitive look in our home. I love history, things that have survived hundreds of years of use, early primitive lighting, old wooden bowls, cutting boards, quilts, candles, oil lamps, etc. So many ask how can you live with this old stuff? Not only do I live with it, I love it, the warmth, coziness and peace it brings. I watch my adult kids and teen grandkids in this throw away, plastic society where they have to have the newest trend and six months later, replacing it with something else. I just shake my head and so glad to relax and enjoy the history of our home and our comfy surroundings. Your home should be a reflection of who you are, not who others are and the newest trend. Love your channel❤ Debby
Exactly Debby. 'Your home should be a reflection of who you are, not who others are and the newest trend." Perfectly said. Home should bring you peace. (PS I get so sad when I see all the furniture, plastic, fabrics making their way into the garbage.)
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio My Thoughts on Decorating........ To me, Decorating is a Path! It all starts with your first home and evolves from there. It's a path that we all walk on, inspired by others to make another turn on the long and windy road. There are no right or wrong choices, just Right or Left turns. Some will stop at the first caution sign and others will speed right thru. Whilst some are taking baby steps along the path others have their radar on to avoid a speeding ticket. Our path is one we create as we go, never knowing where it will end. Pieces that make our hearts skip a beat and come home to live with us changes the navigation and leads us in a whole new direction. Wherever you are on your decorating path, enjoy it! Don't be afraid of the path with the least amount of footprints. Take that step and leave your mark. Some will love it, some will question it and others will be unsure of it. This is not a judgement against your path, it is just 2 paths that do not have an intersection. Let your heart lead you, your mind guide you and your imagination run wild! Sit back and enjoy your decorating journey for after all....... It's your path to making your house a home!
So true! So many TH-cam channels that have homes with zero charm. Organized via Amazon yes, but no personality! All the channels have the exact same trays, fake books, beads and bland neutrals. Thanks for saying it out loud.
Yes I know and I find it numbing, depressing and uninspiring. I think we can do better-and I think the subscribers here want to do better than what is being churned out here on YT. I am a big advocate of quality secondhand finds and creating a highly curated space from those, incorporating new classic pieces that can age with us. That beautiful old arm chair where we once read stories to our children, the table where we shared meals, the sofa where we lounged t with our partner on rainy summer days…I could go on and on ❤️ What can I say? I’m a romantic and I think we should be this way toward our home too!
yes, Yes, YES!!! I just need pointers on how to make our brand-new house HOMEY. Just moved from our 90-year old Craftsman bungalow, into a new ‘Craftsman bungalow’. No stairs, attached garage, walk-in shower, plentiful storage are all pluses, but it doesn’t feel homey - yet.
You got this!! I totally understand what that’s like-not with a full house per se but with a builder grade condo. We had this challenge with our place in the city too. Textiles, rugs, drapes, soft furniture, warm woods, book shelves, books, artwork, plants and paint are helpful but it comes down to you and the space you want to create. I think you can derive a lot of inspiration from your previous home and carry it into this new one. What elements did you love there that you can carry over? The feeling? It will be a fun process for you!
I hear this, i realized a lot of homes i go to are minimal with the stuff around, for sure something i need to work on, but a lot of them do have a few staged pictures and a few decorating items and that's it and that's not at all what i do. I just need to make it not look as messy but i realize more than ever after watching this i shouldn't compare because its nice and clean feeling but not as homey, eclectic feeling. Honestly for the copious amount of videos I've watched this style difference just dawned on me.
Well thank you so much--I'm glad it brought in a new perspective. I've been thinking about this a lot (maybe too much😂) but I suppose it's because I'm also working on my home too! I believe that people will feel happier and comforted when they're in a space, house, apartment, etc that feels like an extension of themselves. Thank you for being here--I appreciate your thoughtful comment.
Swedish spelling issues :) We live in a 70s house.Previous owners ripped out all the reminders of the 70s and the house felt sad when we moved in. To honour and take back some of the original style we have put in 70s wallpaper in two rooms. The rest of the house is more leaning to our own style which is a mix of different styles and eras. Feels like a nice compromise
Awww I literally got watery eyes thinking about how lucky you and your home are to have found each other. I really think a home is so very special for us and that being said, I feel like my home loves my husband and I being here. I know maybe strange (to some) but I’m super sentimental and before we arrived this house was not simply not being honored. The original owner had passed, the children grew up and moved away. It was a rental for years with people coming in and out. Now that we’re here I feel like it’s coming back to life again. I think the same for your home 🤍 What a beautiful experience to bring the house back to life and into being your home. I love it-and as a child of the 70s I love the idea of using some fun 70s wallpaper to honor it 🌼
New subscriber here. I have a boring , suburban, cookie cutter home in Orange County CA and cannot stand the modern farmhouse style that is everywhere. I know i gravitate towards transitional style but love to infuse global touches and vintage. My challenge is putting it together in a cohesive manner.
Okay this is a VERY good question! My husband and I are eclectic and we like a lot of things. So I feel you! The first piece of advice is thinking of your home as a story. What story do you want it to tell. It’s abstract thinking I know but fire yourself time to think on this. Go for what feels good to you. This always has staying power. In terms of practical advice: there are a few ways you can create more cohesion: color palette (sticking with on sort of ribbon of color throughout the home/room). For example we use black though out our home, but I think of it as a line on a drawing and with one black focal point in the room-of the same color but this is not the wall color. I would also consider a wall color that compliments your palette, either a neutral or perhaps a color in you palette. **Regarding your color palette-try your best to have only three colors that complement each other, anything more and it starts to lose its power. Use color in one of two ways, either all one color on all walls (we used a warm white) or using various shades of the same color in each room. You can use contrasting colors but if you’re trying to pull it all together it’s much easier to tie it together this way. Incorporating similar types of fabric in each room is also helpful, similar tones, colors, patterns that compliment each other-they could be the same too but it depends on the look you’re going for. Either way it’s going to be about color for you as it has the most impact to pull things together. You can then incorporate these colors in each room to tie it together. It’s a bit more complex than that but it’s a good start. If you like, email me pics (in the description) or DM me on Instagram. I’d love to help you out and if you like, I can use it on a future video. Either way the subject is great and I’ll for sure address this ;) stay tuned.
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio , thank you so much for your reply! Extremely thoughtful of you to actually offer detailed advice ! Ive already copied onto my notes for reference as i shop ! @@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio We are doing a new build and it's a modern style house on the exterior. I have been following the Modern Organic trend but I am going thru the process of figuring it all out. I have remodeled and sold a few houses but this house has me stumped since I plan to stay in this home for a long time.
I appreciate that Jessica! I think many of us want a place that feels like a home and not a model residence or a hotel room. I think there’s a way to have the beauty of something “designed” but is also unique and feels like home. Thank you for being here!
I like to see trends different styles but ultimately I buy what I like I like French style but I not married to it, because if I see something that I like I will make it fit and all my furniture is second hand and if it doesn't look good needs fixing I will fix it and make it work.
I love this woman! 😍 naturally Sexy & sophisticated. European. She has a sense of humour, sassy and real. Of course her home would be authentic, real, intelligent. My brother & his wife have a great sense of design…my daughter & I used to do a house swap with them each each year. Their Sydney was a 150yr old workers cottage , the back wasredesigned with a brilliant architect. We felt our IQ increased, our sense creativity increased when we stayed. A mix of mid century furniture with skilled thrift finds….a coffee was an old wire little basket from Bondi beach in Sydney …very clever and nothing matchy matchy. Old black n white photos of Sydney in the 1970s …a velvet sheet with a woman’s face …from on old theatre..,etc
I realized I was following a trend with our house and wasn't being authentic to my husband and I. We want a home with soul and that comes down to the furniture too! I also love the warm woods in those two styles you pointed out. I was thinking so much about this that I realized I can't be the only one feeling this way--turns out I'm not! 😘
'm an Indian watching from Qatar. I agree with each and every point you mentioned. The color coded, brand named fake book stack idea is the most ridiculous trend.
Haha isn’t it though?! It’s insulting to book readers everywhere 😂

Exactly! We are speaking the same language. You bring the history, the story to your home and it deserves to be told. It’s the most intimate and personal space we will ever be in 🥰
Absolutely agree. Your home should tell the story of you. If it's a white box with everything white and grey...hmmm
I’m so happy to see that we all get it. Now is a time of creativity and expressing who we are through our home 🤍 I love it!
Agree!
Thank you Beth! Yes!! I’m happy you’re here and I look forward to seeing more of you around 😘
😮 I'm shocked those homes aren't protected by a historical society!
@@Heyu7her3 Sadly not all of them. It depends on the neighborhood.
Thank you.
You got it Sandi! Thank you very much for the tip and appreciate your comments 🤍
Yes! I agree with everything you said too!
That’s so important for our wellbeing and confidence ❤️ Thank you for being here and spending your time with me 😘
I love that you don't edit out everything where you mis-speak. Your advice is excellent.
Really enjoyed hearing from you 🤗 Also feel free to chime in here with the problems you are facing so I can be sure to address them 🤍
I was playinf redecor and got so bored with the clean, neutral, scandi designs constantly winning. this is a breath of fresh air
You and me both babe!!!
XOXOXCD
I got trend fatigue, too, and I just want to feel comfortable with things around me that evoke happy thoughts with simplicity.
This is so good for our outlook on life and mental health. We all need that comfort 🥰
You will get there and I hope to make the process fun for you 😘
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio thank you!

I totally agree! This is why organization is key. There’s a balance to this and a sensitivity to the space-not simply random.
I lived with someone that developed a hoarding habit and it was unbearable for me.)
On the same note, I like a home that feels warm, balanced, and is a place for the things that bring me joy-but in a neat and organized way.
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio Awwwwww YAY!!!! Looking forward to connecting with you!
Wonderful Penny! I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying it babe 🤗
The Family Stone is so cozy and good. I just felt happy watching it and looking at all the details in the house.
It’s got all the family cozy vibes for sure 🤍 glad you enjoyed it!
Finally, I’ve been preaching this for years !
Welcome Lisa 🤍 I’m glad this video found you!
New to the channel 1st time ----Bless You for saying this!!!! Home should reflect the individuals living in the home. I love watching channels on home interior & design but find after a while the styles become so "cookie cutter". Tell your own story.
Yes!!! Thank you. It's so very important that we feel at home--at home. Thank you for being here and sharing your thoughts!!! 😘
We are always going to find a way to make a place our home ❤️
I was brought up buying second hand and picking up furniture people were throwing out then fixing it up.
Okay watching Funny Farm this weekend for inspiration! I just googled it 🤍 I forgot about that movie!
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio it reminds me a lot of Step Mom, Beetle Juice and Family Stone homes. That traditional yet cozy home🥰
Oh this is definitely happening 😉
Great video with such a refreshing take! This is SO the vibe for my home style! 😌 You got my sub, and I'm really excited to watch your channel grow!!🤗
Yay!
Ahhh nothing beats an attractive yet homey livable place ❤️
I love your page! Just found it and cannot stop watching your other videos. Will be sharing with others!

Hello again!!! Binge away! Hope to keep inspiring you dear xoxo
PS I love beautiful bindings--so special.
But somehow, I have made it work 😁
That’s such a good manta to keep your focus 🤍 Who you are will spill over into your home if you keep that top of mind. Follow your heart always 🥰
That fits. I have a very eclectic home. Guess I have a homey home. And I love it.
Hi Paula! I do love an eclectic homey home! Thanks for chiming in and being here :D
Love your channel❤
Debby
Exactly Debby. 'Your home should be a reflection of who you are, not who others are and the newest trend." Perfectly said. Home should bring you peace. (PS I get so sad when I see all the furniture, plastic, fabrics making their way into the garbage.)
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio it makes me sad too as they are such a throw away generation just to keep up with the newest trends
Beautiful it’s like a poem 🤍 I couldn’t agree more with you. We must be fearless-like creating art.
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio yes, our own personal art, unique to each of us♥️
New to your channel. Love this video and definitely your thoughts on creating a homey home
Awww thank you for the kind words, Pat 😘❤️🥰 Also thank you so much for being here and contributing to this new little (but full of love) community!
You are a delight and your stream of thought is very easy to follow. 👍
Thank you Kathlene!!! So lovely if you to say 😘
That beautiful old arm chair where we once read stories to our children, the table where we shared meals, the sofa where we lounged t with our partner on rainy summer days…I could go on and on ❤️
What can I say?
Thank you for your thoughts! They were so inspiring.
You’re welcome 🤍 I hope to bring you more inspiration. Thank you for being here!
The perfect video . Real and true .
Thank you so much!! Thank for for being here ☺️
Swedish spelling issues :)
We live in a 70s house.Previous owners ripped out all the reminders of the 70s and the house felt sad when we moved in.
The original
owner had passed, the children grew up and moved away.

Oh wow! How’s it going? What are you leaning to with the design/style?
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio We are doing a new build and it's a modern style house on the exterior. I have been following the Modern Organic trend but I am going thru the process of figuring it all out. I have remodeled and sold a few houses but this house has me stumped since I plan to stay in this home for a long time.

I like to see trends different styles but ultimately I buy what I like I like French style but I not married to it, because if I see something that I like I will make it fit and all my furniture is second hand and if it doesn't look good needs fixing I will fix it and make it work.

Oh wow their place sounds amazing and full of inspiration! Thank you for sharing this. Getting a lot of great visuals for sure 😍

I agree! This is how you remain happy with what you have! 🤍
3:20: My partner would appreciate this style. This would suck the soul of me😣
I appreciate…4:27, 5:20,
I realized I was following a trend with our house and wasn't being authentic to my husband and I. We want a home with soul and that comes down to the furniture too! I also love the warm woods in those two styles you pointed out. I was thinking so much about this that I realized I can't be the only one feeling this way--turns out I'm not! 😘
BTW thank you for being here and contributing 🤍
I really enjoyed this video. The points you made resonated with me. Thank you for taking the time to share this 🤍
You are so welcome! I’m happy you’re here 🤍
Finally...a normal home video. Was feeling like I had to tuck ourselves in hidden boxes to look "designed". 🫠
Nope! Come on out 😘 you are the design.
