This is the first story i liked .... No excessive physical abuse no tormenting... The FL was not acting all hurt ant pitiful. The ML know that he lost something precious and not desperately cling to her... Everything was sane and perfect. Altough it did feel like he took advantage of her situation but she knowingly agreed to it so i dont feel like it was deceptive or anything
They lived together in such harmony but he rejected her love because of her background... ? He was way to proud of himself and had really hard lesson coming up - that good personality and ability to love have nothing to do with status and money but have all to do with character and true heart. She had a tremendous inner strenght to bear being intimate with him but numbing her feelings away. I like she found a person who made her happy and they had a sincere, equal relationship. They both deserved it after having difficult life behind them.

It's ridiculous to be forced by outsiders to marry others just because she's insecure abt her relationship with Clyde. Its even more absurd that she agreed to it in order to placate his fiance and pay her debt to him. She is not even exactly his lover. Its more like room mate with benefits. Luckily she has her happy ending.

Audrey was an exceptional woman who did her job well and approached the relationship as nothing more than what it was. She was very savvy in her thinking and it took a lot of guts to do what she undertook for the sake of the Grandmother she loved. Why would anyone say she was spineless? Unfortunately for her she fell in love with Clyde. She, however, met William in an arranged wedding by Clyde and gradually fell in love with him. I was happy about that. She finally found someone who cherished her for herself and not money as their society dictated in other arranged marriages. I always thought in arranged marriages the choice of who they were married to couldn't or dared not put conditions on the time or place such as Clyde's fiance did. Isn't this the way it's been stated in other stories we've heard? I thought she was awesome! Also, Clyde being sorry is the way they all feel when they make the stupid choices they make. A good story Narrator.
No, the one who have no backbone in this story is the guy. He have no backbone to resist whatever HIS family give to him as long as it make his life comfortable.
Give and take is a condition that goes about everything and everywhere... Just taking someone's love and affection and giving it back, may help to hold a relationship for sometime but, it will take it to failure and disappointment one day.. Just a course of time.. This ML just wants to take whatever she gives but not taking her feelings into consideration.. This is the ending he will get eventually even if he marry her
