I co-wrote Thank You with the Newton family who were missionary friends of mine in Taipei. I was an international flight attendant at the time, and the Newtons had just returned to the field in Taiwan after Vicki had to return to the United States for medical care. The song Thank You was written January 3, 1994. Vicki Newton wrote the first verse. I wrote the chorus. Phil Newton wrote the second verse. Their son Phillip Newton wrote the third verse. The song was originally written in Taiwanese and was translated into English by the two oldest children of the Vicki & Phil.

Ivan does a great job on this song. My Mom was a SS teacher for 40 years in our church and my Dad was SS supt. for 40 years. But he also was an elder, etc for over 50 years and conseled a lot of people, even Pastors came to him. I can imagine all the thank you's my parents got when they got to heaven. Even thougn its been 4 and 5 years since they passed we are still hearing stories how mom taught the kids and how dad helped the adults. They also worked with Child Evangelism for a few years.

This song is the song from millions of people around the world to Dr. Billy Graham. He gave his life completely to the service of The Lord and the spreading of His Word. He went to.places no one dared to preach the message of God's love and forgiveness. I am sure that when God sent Gabriel to bring Rev. Graham home, he was met by Christ himself. I like this performance of Thank You by Ivan Parker. This song was originally written in Tiawanese. I was an international flight attendant and visiting with my missionary friends Phil & Vicki Newton in Taipei. Vicki wrote the first verse. I wrote the chorus. Phil wrote the second verse, and their son Phillip wrote the third verse. Phillip and his sister Melissa worked together to translate the song into English. The song was originally recorded by Ray Boltz. I had given him permission to record it.
I had given Ray Boltz permission to record Thank You originally, but that copyright got suppressed. This is a nice performance by Ivan Parker.

This song has been recurring in my head because so I have realized the importance of giving. We have benefitted from people's giving and so we should do the same now that are are able to give.
