I was randomly surfing TH-cam and I saw this. I still play your versions of As Time Goes By and When I'm 64. Since I'm three years past 64, retired and somewhat bored I think I'll learn this one before I'm four years past 64. When someone asks, "Who's yo Daddy?" I always reply, "daddystovepipe of course!"
Brano intimista di un grande autore interpretato con sensibilità. Le tue belle chitarre hanno tutte una voce viva, differente l'una dall'altra. Questa ha un suono molto equilibrato, con bassi profondi ed un pò rochi, di notevole impatto. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I am a slow learner, but have been at this for ten days and need another thirty. The four-note slide /7-5-3-2 at the top of p. 2 of the tab is the biggest challenge for me (I cannot do the bass under it yet), plus that /7/2 after the 12th fret harmonic. Thanks, M. B. I've been a fan since learning "Louise" from you. This Kottke tune is sooooooo good.
@@daddystovepipe Got it! It took an emphasis on the rhythm which radiated out from my tapping foot and up through my shoulders, so that the feel of it can power me through. But I guess it's the muscle memory from repeating it a couple hundred times that helped. I saw Leo in a small cafe when we were both twenty.
Wow ,this is a challence. It's really beautiful, but not done easy, haha. I'm kind of proud of myself playing The Fisherman, and now you give me this! Well...thanks man, i'll try. No promises, haha. Greetings from the Netherlands
A beautiful arrangement! Quite a departure from his earlier music and from what you usually share. Thank you so much for this vid. and your patient instruction... so much work on your part! Presently on the fifth line and looking forward to completing this one as it reflects an often moodiness I find in my playing. Also, you mentioned your right hand nail length... acrylic or natural? I have to do something as mine split as soon as they get close to where I need them to be...
Thanks Tom. I'm lucky to be blessed blessed with strong natural nails; acrylic can be a good substitute though (plenty tutorials on YT). I recorded another fine moody Kottke piece a long time ago, "BJ" th-cam.com/video/o7Ql4vMhf5Y/w-d-xo.html (free tab link in videodescription - and I will make a new nicely written version shortly). Watching this makes me happy.
