This song is in a 6:4 polyrhythm! The drums and bass are playing together in a 6/8, but the vocals and keys are in 4/4. So technically you can count it in either, as long as the 1 lines up. I discovered this due to a major argument when learning it with my band...
Yup lol Me and my homie had a long discussion about this lol And in the recorded version the big drums doing a back beat sounds like a straight 4/4 break beat slowed down lol In my head I'm constantly going back and forth between the feels lol
@@DeBoltDrumming hey man I was wondering where I would be able to buy the multitrack version by Zion for reckless love to play at my church. Would love to download it!
I just found this video off a random recommendation on my frontpage and I'm so glad I did. I used to play drums in my praise band 6-7 years ago at church but haven't played drums really since. Your flawless execution of the 6:4 polyrhythm throughout the whole song was just so pleasant to listen to. Especially during the end when you nail the fills in 4:4. It also gave me a John Bohnam vibe when he would play a little behind the beat to create this slight dragging sensation. I'm a big fan now and look forward to watching more of your videos.
I'm more impressed that your drum key did not fall of the kick drum despite everything going on. 🤯🤯🤯 The mathematics saved us on this one, so it wasn't as disorienting. Quality YT content.
Omg bro, I’m not sorry to say that I had never seen any of you videos...this is my first time watching any of your content and not even halfway through I subscribed. God bless you bro, keep jamming cause this blessed my life right now.

Hey bro! Random question, but I saw the link in the description about the in-ears you use. Are these the only pair you use, or do you have other ones? Also, how good are the ones you linked?
Andrew! What's up bro ❤️ The 215's I linked are pretty amazing. By far the best universal fits for that price. They'll last for a few years, and then you'll typically need to replace the cable (like $25) and then they are still as good as new. I used these live for a while before I got custom molds (Alclair CMVK's). I use these ones live and use the 215's for any mixing, music listening, or playing in some smaller venues (when I don't have to hit super hard). Hopefully that helps! ⚡️
