After I found the settings I like to most, I am pretty satisfied with it. What I found as a limit, when I want to shoot a cinematic shot of my subject who is a presenter, talking before his audience, and I want to make a gimbal shot over the heads of the attendees, in center with the attendees... in these shots I needed to use lock on the subject because it detects the heads from the background... it needs a bit more practicing, but that shots can be done well too.
@PrimeAtl in the autofocus types you can choose track mode , you can select what to track... also as s5II frames your subject, I saw in a video you can lock on it, by choosing which recognised human to follow in the frame... I need to test that out yet... would be great if Panasonic would add a feature, to recognise the human by adding a portrait f.e. about him/her... and then it will be obvious who to follow 😉
Good on you and well done. I've just bought the sigma 35mm f1.4 dg dn and hope the AF works ok. It works good on the native 20-60, 50, and 85mm panasonics
walking up like ima bout to fight made me laugh...I rate u man !!! kid in video just ads to it bruv, we all out here trying to survive so we can care for them ones that get in way lol
First of all I really appreciate your content.✨ It is very helpful. A question! When you shake the camera sideways can you hear a sound inside? I bought a Lumix S5ii! Thank you always.
Thank you and that’s normal that’s the sensor making that noise bc of the in body stabilization feature! It makes your senor move around to eliminate the shake when you shoot handheld!
Hey big bro I really enjoy your videos they're really impressive! I subscribed to you cause you got some quality content! I was wondering how were you able to record your lumix screen like that? Also would you be able to make a tutorial on how you edit your videos or use your LUTs packages. I appreciate you!
What’s up bro! Thanks for watching my content and I use a wireless transmitter to film myself and to screen record my camera interface! I’m currently working on a video about it but as far as color grading I will be dropping that in a few days for y’all showing how I use my LUTs and color correct!
Thanks for these tests my man, these are great to see. I watched your other video when using the Sigma 28-70 and i'm interested to see if you have encountered any issues with something that is faster moving. I shoot mainly fitness content and concerned the S5ii + 28-70 and it's AF are going to have a hard time based on some other reviews.
Your welcome and I had only one issue with the 28-70 as far as autofocus at 70mm bc there is so much shallow depth of field at 2.8. Sometimes It had trouble focusing on the subject but overall it’s a great lens for that bc I shoot fitness content as well !
I am finding the 28-70 a bit slow to react even with the settings turned all the way up its as if it constantly needs a second to switch focus or simply doesn't do it have you had similar issues also does your unit make quite noises when focusing or is it completely silent
The Lumix S5ii is the best camera of 2023, from the price to the performance & all the pro video features. I am looking to purchase the S5iix so that way I can have two amazing camera. The only lens you need is that 24-70 f2.8 S series. With the 4k 60 crop it turns that lens to a 108mm for extra reach
If you have only one person in the frame, the PDAF is really good. But when it comes to multiple persons, it begin to struggle a lot: The camera then can't decide on one person and jumps back and forth wildly. Hopefully Panasonic will improve this in the future.
I expect some more detectability to be added and improved on for the Sigma lenses, I find my Sigma 24-70 have more of a difficult time finding my eye in some scenarios where it really should be finding it tbh haha.
How do yall feel about the Phase Detect Autofocus on the S5ii after watching this video?

@@VagiPetiinteresting i never thought to lock on to the subject! Thank you I have to test that out but overall the autofocus is great to me !

Sigma lenses are great paired with this camera and tbh I think it will work just fine!
Great Video... thank you for putting this up... it really helped me find the lens I want to use. Thank you again...

I agree this camera is the best for the price hands down!
what was the AF settings?

It’s definitely something they need to improve asap! Besides that I love it !
did pdaf works on 1080p 50fps? because other reviewers pin out it’s turn into contrast detection af

Yeah I definitely needs some improvements but for a Panasonic camera I’m still mind blown! They came a long way fr
If you download the latest firmware do you still have to install the older versions
That’s a great question!
are you using the Sigma Mc-21 adapter
Yup!
Is the Sigma 28-70 or the Sigma 24-70 better as an autofocus?
I never used the 24-70 but I’m guessing they would be the same
@@PrimeAtl Thank you
