    N.B: P occurs before Q in every situation
    e.g: If you study (P) then you will get a good grade (Q).
    You always study before you even get back a grade, therefore, with the fact that P occurs before Q, studying would be P and getting a good grade would be Q.
    That's the only thing that I found that could be confusing to viewers, so I felt compelled to share this truth :) ;D

    • @pacman4521
      @pacman4521 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, Order on the context does not matter here, If you can convert the written statement into logical form like p and q, you just have to follow the rules. Dont worry about order here, it will be a helpful tip as I learned the hard way lol.

    The inverse and converse are NOT ALWAYS the same for example:
    If a number is divisible by 4 then it is divisible by 2.
    -Converse: If it is divisible by 2, then it is divisible by 4. (this is false because of a number such as 6, or 10 )
    -Inverse: If it is not divisible my 4, then it is not divisible my 2. (this is true because of a number like 5 or 9 )

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The inverse and the converse have the same truth value just like the conditional and contrapositive have the same truth value. Which is to say they are either both true or both false.

You ONLY did the Conditional, the Converse, and the BiConditional. Please REPLY with the Inverse and the Contrapositive. And, please also say whether or not either one of them is true.

    +Mario's Math Tutoring So today, after watching a bunch of math videos (one them is this specific video of yours) for Geometry, I had a couple of questions to answer and one of them were "The compound statement (p --> q)(q --> --> p) is a conjunction of two ____." I wasn't sure what the answer was most because of the two arrows going in the same direction, which was different than how most people represent biconditionals. Can someone please explain?

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Matt_Master8711 I'm not sure I completely understand your question however I can tell you that if both the conditional statement and the converse statement are both true than you can combine them into a biconditional statement. Also if you have a true biconditional statement you can rewrite it as two true statements one being the conditional and the other the converse. Hope that helps.

    Im confused why you can say that it's not necessarily true if you get a good grade then you studied, but you say for sure that if you study then you will get a good grade. That isn't necessarily true either. You could study and not get a good grade.

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brianna...I should have picked a mathematical example...the thing to remember is that if the original conditional is true then the contrapositive will also be true ( they both are true or Both are false...they have the same ‘truth’ value) however the converse is not guaranteed to be true just because the conditional is true (

      If you study you will get a good gradeis not neccesarily true but if it was true then the contrapositive would be (if you did not get a good grade you did not study). It is easier to understand if you use something like if you have a tricycle it will have 3 wheels. That is true so that means that if you dont have three wheels you dont have a tricycle is also true.
      If you have a tricycle it will have 3 wheels is the conditional and if you dont have three wheels you dont have a tricycle is the contrapositive. It is a little bit hard to understand when you use untrue statements but is also important to understand because you will sometimes be asked to find the contrapositive with untrue statements.
