I have just watched it a dozen times tonight, & each time I have got goosebumps & tears flowing. The anguish in this performance is on another level! Her early career mirrored Eminem's which is why she chose this song. Her song, Am I Not Pretty Enough was her big fuck you to the radio stations who would not play her songs. Ironically, it became her first hit, played on every radio station in the country. Youngest woman to be inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. Now you understand why she feels this song?

From what I understand, Kasey spent lockdown playing around with some of her favourite songs and this version of Lose Yourself is the result. Brilliant! Kasey has spent her whole solo career bucking the constraints of the record companies and always gone her way. She made it to the top in Aussie music anyway with many awards, becoming the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient. BTW….how was that for breath and vocal control? Not to mention the awesome arrangement. ❤ Also, that was Kasey’s Dad, Bill, on the steel guitar and her brother Nash on lead guitar and backing vocal. Full kudos to Eminem for his songwriting. Personally, the reason Kasey’s version affects me so much is all down to the fact that she did lose herself in the music, the moment during this performance. Kasey kept the cadence but slowed it down, even in the full rock part. Your mic volume was way out of balance with the music track, so bad that it was distorting; so bad that I had to turn my volume down everytime you broke into the track. It was a constant distraction for me having to turn the track up to hear it, then turning it down when you broke in, then turning it up again. Talk about sonic ping pong. LISTEN BACK TO THIS REVIEW AND LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES BEFORE YOU LOSE YOUR AUDIENCE! Other than that, loved Kasey's version of this song.

Good reaction, but like Ian said, you need to work on the presentation way too close to your mic. You're killing the diaphragm and clipping the sound. Also, your timing for the pauses is frustrating don't pause during solos instrument or long vocals notes. I enjoyed your comments but was frustrated that you didn't wait a few seconds to say it.
A little advice for you. 1st.... your mic pics up every sound around you and especially your hand moving on it. Very annoying. 2nd.... try stopping to say something after a verse is over not in the middle of it.
It's weird, cause the first time I heard it I was really unsure, then by the end I had chills and was crying. This is phenomenal.
