With Time Team in Cardiff I want to share this story. My 2nd great grandmother from Cardiff immigrated to the U.S. through Ellis Island in 1907. I was fortunate enough to acquire her address book, letters and photos. While tracing my family, I decided to write the addresses from her book. Many came back as the homes no longer existed, but some months later I received a response and to my delightful surprise it was addressed from her childhood home. The family who was living there took it upon themselves to further my research and had sent copies of the documents. This was such a kind gesture that's not been forgotten. It was also nice to learn that I planted a seed and they too began their own research.
What a treat it is to watch re runs of the show. I love the utter dedication and excitement whenever they discover parts of our past. Thank you Time Team, for the years of pleasure and education you have provided so well.
