  • This past November, Adam Ondra made the first ascent of C.R.S. (9b), the hardest sport climb in France. For Adam, this route meant progression, as it was the quickest he had ever redpointed 9b. Adam says that after having dedicated countless hours training in the gym for competitions in the past couple of years, this redpoint of C.R.S. showed him that the hard work of competition-specific training translates to climbing outside as well. This video, filmed and edited by Bernardo Gimenez and narrated by Adam, provides a compelling window into Adam’s personal philosophy and mindset about climbing, training and his passion for progression.

Has anybody looked more solid pulling the crux moves at the top end of the grading scale? He maintained three points of contact and full body tension until the reverse momentum of the missed dyno pulled finally pulled him off. That's extremely hard at any angle, but doing so while pulling the lip of a nearly horizontal ceiling while clinging to such tiny face holds is absolutely mind-blowing.

1:20. That's a big pack for sport climbing! Maybe he's got a bunch of gear for setting a route, and projecting it... Or filming
