In today's video, I'm making delicious strawberry jalapeño jam. This simple alteration on classic strawberry jam is addictive and (in my biased opinion) better than the normal stuff.
Hope you try this spicy jam recipe for yourself and see what you think.
    ***************************************
    Recipe:
    Ingredients:
    10 oz frozen strawberries
    2 jalapeño peppers, diced
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 tbsp lemon juice
    Steps:
    1. Thaw strawberries over medium heat, stirring regularly.
    2. Once soft, mash strawberries to desired consistency.
    3. Add all other ingredients and stir to dissolve sugar.
    4. Simmer for 20-30 minutes until temperature reaches 220°F (104°C)
    5. Remove from heat and skim off surface foam (optional)
    6. Add to jars and allow to cool for at least an hour at room temp. Then, store in fridge for 2-3 weeks.
Optional: Water bath can the filled jars and store at room temperature for 1 year.

Hi there i have a recipe i call it pepper cake i absolutely love it!
    Ingredients
    Self raising flour
    Butter
    Caster sugar
    Eggs 3
    Vanilla paste
    Baking powder
    Milk
11.5 grams of pepper powder (For you i think cgn x kslsb powder would be cool!)
Steps: Preheat oven at 375 F, Line and butter cake pans with parchment paper, Cream sugar and butter until light and creamy, one at a time add the eggs with vanilla paste mix until combined, Here add pepper powder of your choice ( I'd use your cgn x kslsb ) Then you add the baking powder and flour, Get a spoon and mix or fold the flour into your mixture, Finally you should add the milk and mix it until properly mixed with batter.
Now put into oven for 25-30 minuets, Once removed from the oven be sure to enjoy!
(I know the idea sounds very weird but trust me its delicious!)

id love to see a pepper jelly video. Pepper jelly is one thing i wanna make with my peppers. I have Hungarian Wax, Cayenne, Jalapeno, and Ghost peppers growing,Wax and Ghost closest to being ripe. got some nice green jalapenos, i just sampled one a moment ago, but im letting everything go red and fully ripe and developed i think. I feel everything store bought is picked early for quick turn around and we dont get to fully experience the plants. I grew the thickest Cukes ive ever seen too! First year grower. I need to get videos up and document the journey more. i got pictures but id sure like some videos. yours are awesome btw.

As a newbie to growing peppers; THANK YOU. Really enjoy your content and have found several tips useful. QUESTION: when harvesting I cut the stems close to the plant, I then pull the pepper from the stem. When I put the stems in the dirt around the plant I seem to get a faster larger next yield. ? Is there some chemical in the stem which signals the plant to produce more when reintroduced to the soil?

I would really like to see a video of just pepper jelly. That's what I've been wanting to make. I enjoy sweet and spicy but for me I'd rather have a more spice dominant snack or use it as a spread on burgers, steak, chicken, and porkchops. Also my peppers are dried. Would they still work for jam/jelly?

    • @jessicapearson9479

He didn't make jam. He made a thick fruit sauce. It looks similar but is not. The thickness just comes from him boiling it down to very little liquid. It is like condescending down a tomato pasta sauce to make it thick.
But, he clearly doesn't really know what he is talking about. I mean..... he just broke the Mason Jar simply because he didn't bother to WARM UP the jar first before putting in the hot sauce!!
So, find your jam making ideas and recipes elsewhere. These nimrods don't even understand that they are growing nothing but hybrids because the refuse to properly separate the peppers to a distance apart that would actually keep them from cross pollinating!!

I used 4 cups of fresh crushed strawberries and 5 good sized jalapenos. Wondering if you have a recipe for a strawberry jam with chipolte? Bet the smokey heat would be great.

I have a few questions. Does this jam work well in situations where you would use regular strawberry jam, such as sandwiches or on ice cream? Or is it more suited as a compliment to savouries? How much does the jalapeno change the overall flavour of the jam? If so, are there alternatives that wouldn't affect it as much? Maybe red pepper flakes?
    Thanks for the video!

    • @PepperGeek

Your best bet would be a farmers market but they are typically seasonal. Sometimes you’ll have better luck at a speciality market, though they may be a bit pricier (somewhere like Whole Foods or Highland Park). If we’re buying them in the market we look for pods that aren’t huge and have a bit of corking.
