I will say, Danny too. They are both articulate and impressive. This is the first time I heard Danny get to say more than a few words. And I am impressed at not only his intellect but his diplomacy. If he doesn't agree with something he doesn't discount it. He gives other musicians their due, no matter what lane they chose. He also doesn't touch his face constantly. He just bloomed to me, I think he is the calm brilliance the group needs to round them out. I hope the guys branch out like the Beatles and each take the forefront and sing.

I really like these two - Sam & Daniel - when they are interviewed together. They have such insightful comments. (There is an interview from earlier this year where Sam has the mike and Josh is still talking. Sam says "ha-ha Josh - no one can hear you". Priceless. Too damn funny). I really think in relating to what Sam said about the best music being imperfect, I hope that they can stay imperfect. With getting bigger as a band and having more high production shows I hope they don’t ever turn into like a “perfect” band w perfect shows. I hope they stay imperfect and aren’t afraid to still be crazy and do what they want with their shows and music. Because that’s what makes them so great.

Since my first post I have had the mind blowing privilege of seeing BOTH sold out Sydney shows. Lost a grab for Daniel's stick to a nice guy next to me. Danny's sticks have leather strips wound around the handle and are well torn and frayed along the shaft by the end . He also plays in black leather gloves to protect his fingers which he has had issues with. Funniest thing, the roadie, in the black kilt, folded up the set lists into paper darts and threw them way out over the hangers oners, (me,) where they BOTH made a graceful right hand turn and flew to a perfect landing back on the stage. We all got a laugh at that. "give it a boot full of left rudder mate!" He then threw me one of Jake's signature plectrums which is blue tacked to the wall of my studio. I actually had a moment with them eye to eye as they turned up at the back stage door for sound check where me and a couple of AC/DC fans were hanging out with an acoustic and some bongos and chicken shakers, jamming. We caught Josh's attention but as we stared at each other I became so "star struck" I couldn't think of anything to say. "hey guys. welcome to Australia!" Maybe next time? What a band! What songs! What encores! What showmanship! What an idiot I was to be so dumb struck. And I'm from a famous show bizz family! Anyhew, that's my GVF story .........so far.

So interesting to hear, man! I'm from southern New Jersey in USA, and I love Greta Van Fleet because their songs are so in-tune with nature, and I live in an area where we have nothing but beaches, camp sites, woods, parks, lakes, and rivers. I love the fact that Danny can play acoustic really damn well. And Sammy's bass playing has a sort of Jimi Hendrix groove to it lmao 😂 I know Hendrix was NOT a bass player, but you get what I'm sayin'. They are very good with their instruments, and I hate all the negative assholes bashing on them. As a screenwriter, I faced the realization that artists are people who share their ideas with the world because that's WHAT THEY DO. Real artists like this band right here knows who they are, and they don't give a shit about opinions. That is what alot of people in this world today are lacking, being true to yourself. Anyway, awesome story brother, peace and love, man. 👍✌☮😊

every interview always ends up at the same place talking about the music they grew up listening to and what their influences are, and the state of rocknroll today, and is rock dead. it's always the same interview, rock has never been dead. people have just been waiting for something real to come out that is good. there has always been some good rock bands in-between all the other crap, anyway I just listened to their new album today, and it's really good, it made me think about when I was in high school in the 70's and the music that came out then, and how excited it made me to listen to new albums, like when Aerosmith Rocks came out and Zeppelins Physical Graffiti and The Who's Next album, and so many other great albums back then, and it made me think about how much a 17 year old must be getting into this new GVF album. personally I don't think the first song should of been the first song on the album, it's a good song but I think it would of been better in the middle of the album somewhere, and the last song is the weakest one on the album, and an album should always hit you hard with the first track and the last track, the last song isn't bad, but the drums on it don't do it for me on that song, and the lyric I just don't get, we can agree to disagree that the world is only what the world is made of, I wish someone could explain to me what it is they disagreed about, and what does * the world is only what the world is made of * mean ? but other than that it's a really good album that you can listen to from the beginning to the end. maybe their fans will actually pay and download the entire album instead just the one hit like they do with pop songs. long live rock, I saw Led Zeppelin live in 77, and hopefully someday I will see GVF.

Hey Jonathan, totally agree with you regarding the notion of “Rock is Dead” - I don’t believe it’s dead, but there are an abundance of people who do.
I’m friends with a couple of the musicians from KISS & Twisted Sister for instance: They don't think rock's dead, but they’ve told me on several occasions they don’t forsee rock n’ roll ever getting back to where it once was: This is why Greta’s rise to stardom is a breath of fresh air.
There always has been - and there always will be - incredible rock n’ roll music, but it’s progressively becoming more and more unlikely for that music to break through into the mainstream, hence the notion that “Rock is Dead” - Greta’s success challenges that notion, which is why the topic comes up.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts man, hope you like mine.
      Peace & Love

@@DanielSarkissian it is the type of rock n roll that was coming out for a long time that killed rock. first all the hair bands that all sounded the same, and then the speed metal crap with screaming monster vocals with no sole. and people just had enough of it. if there were more bands like GVF through the years, rock would be as alive as it ever was. people never stopped loving great rock bands. they just stopped loving the type of rock that was coming out, and hopefully GVF will influence more bands to be influenced by the bands of the 60's and 70's. but without copying, but in the age of copying, I'm afraid there will be more bands trying to sound like GVF. just like when Nirvana first hit it big. the thing that was so great about the 60's and 70's is that every band had it's own identity and sound. but nowadays when someone becomes big, there are a million other acts that sound the same. GVF is a breath of fresh air. and that is why people are buzzing about them. plus they are talented musicians. and I hope it starts a trend. as far as the interview goes. I have watched probably ten of there interviews, and they are all so similar that I don't want to see anymore.

“I think they could’ve done it without the drugs” that’s difficult. A lot of bands struggled with personal and mental issues like nikki sixx for example and more. Not saying all rock stars picked up on drugs because of personal deep issues. Some did drugs just to do them but you can’t generalize every rock star who did drugs like they all just did them for fun because that’s not the case for many.

Rock “died” because generations like different things, and they like to be different in general. Yes people say it’s “dead” because it’s not the main genre now. In the 80’s pop really started to rise, sure rock was still prominent, but it wasn’t as monogamous. In the 90’s there was still rock, and also in the 90’s a lot of sub-genres of it started to pop up and become popular. But then you still had pop, hip-hop, and rap become really popular and I think it’s just kept on rising ever since and Rock has kept on going down ever since. There will eventually be a time that rock comes back to prominence, maybe sooner rather than later. Music evolves and it will continue too.

I'm so bloody impressed with these youngsters. As someone who grew up in the 80s as a teenager with older siblings that exposed me to all types of music...the heart and soul of these guys shines through in every note of every song. They were very diplomatic in response to the "auto tune" question. Its shit! That music isn't artistic. Its manufactured. Most all popular pop music is written by like three people. Its machine driven by a corporate machine to make money. Its soulless and empty of emotion.
GVF has saved rock and real music. The see the beauty of the light of music. They will only get better...so long as they stay away from freaking heroine! :-) They've reenergized this old souls (born in 69) and restored my faith in rock and our youth. They also show just how empty and selfish the millennial generation is. GVF's generation is the one that will save this country and possibly the world.

In my opinion, Rock can rise again only with the INNOVATION and ORIGINALITY of it, not by remaking the old style of Rock and Roll or copying old rock bands...... I still like GVF though but I'm stating FACTS. Example of innovative and original bands: Zeal & Ardor, Jinjer, Living Colour, RATM, Gojira... Check them out, they're very good and communicate much... It's not exactly pure Rock, it's Metal but whatever, I DON'T KNOW ANY ORIGINAL OR INNOVATIVE ROCK BANDS OR ARTISTS. We need a very different band or artist from the most rock bands in this generation, NON TRADITIONAL ROCK SINGERS OR BANDS... Like, another example: Billie Eilish, she became famous, because she wasn't the typical Pop Star, she is kinda weird, dark but cool at the same time, you know what I mean?! My aspiring Rockstars, buy some originality.
    Song suggestion:
    Zeal & Ardor - Don't You Dare
Zeal & Ardor - Blood In The River (gospel+metal)
Zeal & Ardor - Come On Down
    Jinjer - Pisces
    Jinjer - I Speak Astronomy
    Jinjer - Exposed A Liar
Living Colour - Type (Watch the video lyrics, very deep song)
Living Colour - Love Rears Its Ugly Head
RATM - Killing In The Name (very deep song about KKK)
RATM - Know Your Enemy (very deep song)
RATM - Testify (very deep song)
Just check those bands out, the list would be too long LOL.
