    I did some eco printing on photo paper and got all sorts of different effects with the different types of photo paper. They actually stood up to the boiling process pretty good. Got some vibrant funky green colors too

      @@evypetre949 I went and looked at my paper supply. I found one envelope of paper. It's Kodac Premium Photo Paper Instant Dry 64 lbs 25 sheets Gloss. It says that it will work with HP, Cannon, Epson, Lexmark and Dell.

      @@evypetre949 Don't leave the paper on the Geli plate for any amount of time. Make the play nice and wet and pull quickly if the paper will stick to it and it will be a mess to get off the plate. Have a good time!

      Judy Williamson my mom lived in a teeny tiny space. She used every nook, crack and cranny to store stuff. Under the bed in boxes that slide out easy... my tip would be to store all items in boxes that can be easily removed from crazy places. I cut down a lot of cardboard boxes to fit tight spaces. Also, I LOVE those rolling carts. Check out my channel if you feel like.... lots of recycling going on. Vicky I feel like I just hijacked your comments! 💚😘

      Hobby Lobby used to carry them and they have discontinued them and replaced them with another brand. There was a buying frenzy a month or so ago. The regular price was $5.99 and they were marked down to $1.49. When the word spread we all went nuts. I didn't know what they were but my other artsy friends were buying them so I figured I should to. Glad I did. I looked at Amazon and they are horribly expensive on there.

    Love your printing! Yes, yes! I’ll be doing that too. Thanks. Now I’m thinking that maybe I’ll try some other smooth papers like vellum and acetate or plastic something. I’d like to see more running, so there’s some other ideas that this brings up. I’d say, Never say never use photo paper with gel printing.

      Just remember to not let the paper get too dey or it will stick to the Geli plate. It you use some other flat surface it might be different, say glass or acrylic. Some have told me that it's better to peint on the back side of the photo paper. I felt like that was a waste so I printed on the glossy side. Just keep it on the juicy side. Let me knoe how it goes.

    I loved it Vickie! I love your huge Gelli Plate, too! I think the thing with the photo paper is that you are using a lot of very fluid inks and adding more ink. Using acrylic paint might just be too dry. I've had some FW inks for years for calligraphy. They are beautiful in dip pens but my hands haven't been happy with those for years. I need to play! I also really want to see you doing some doodling! I know, it is 'just' doodling, but a bit of talking as you choose what you do is always good to hear... please???

    Hi Vicky, thank you so much for clearing up for me the idea that you can't use photo paper on the gelli plate!! I have watched a lot of videos that have all said don't use it, but I can see that it printed just fine. I was also interested to see that you used acrylic inks, which I have been thinking of trying for ages but hadn't got around to it. Great video and very informative. X

    • @vapurl9330
      @vapurl9330 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nicki Rochelle The idea of printing on Gelli plates was inspired by Cat Hand who did a fantastic video about alcohol inks. I used FW Dale Roney acrylic inks. I had to cut some things out of the video because of time. I used plain water to spray the plate to freshen up ihe ink. The paper really sricks to the plate if you don't put enough paint or ink on it. I have also used a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Do not set two wet pieces of photo paper near each other during drying. It's a diseaster and disappointment waiting to happen. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

      @@michellegratwick8780 I would love to but this video is six years old. I usually use a medium or high gloss paper from Kodac. I was given a bunch of random packets of paper as a gift from my niece that someone gave her. If I remember correctly the box came in sheets of 50. I think the box was an orange color? If I can find a box I will let you know the brand. Like I said this video is six years old and I may have used all that paper.
