Just wanted to say I absolutely love your thorough, well grounded reviews on stationary and writing tools - in both English and French no less. As a Canadian, I enjoy listening to your French reviews as well 😉 I’m as big a fan of X17 in particular as you are, and have a couple of their notebooks and accessories in both the A5 and A6 sizes in a variety of their leathers, particularly their vegetable tanned leathers. The brandy and marone are my favourites. I love seeing all the different varieties and richness of colour you can come out with. It’s the nicest leather I’ve ever seen on a notebook (both the Belgian and Italian varieties), and look forward to using them for a lifetime. You’ve described their product line so well! I think they are gaining in popularity now. It’s nice to have a beautiful made in Europe product that’s so high quality and will last a lifetime.
Oh lovely, thank you so much, I really appreciate ;) And yeap I really do think their vegetable tanned leathers from Belgium are the most exquisite and they age well on top of it. My favourite, the little black A6, I use every single day and it is aging beautifully.
I love the x17- System too. Sadly they are not true A5 sized, but cutting down some nice Inserts is not that much work and I can choose whichever paper i like the most that way!
Another great video review and the time and effort you put in to doing an English language version of your videos is much appreciated - thank you. The cognac does look fantastic and so very tempting - but so much choice over size and number of inserts! I did wonder what you thought of the paper quality of the inserts for use with fountain pens - perhaps you could comment on that when doing your review of the inserts?
Hi Andrew, thanks a lot. The Cognac is fantastic but most of their leathers are really my thing like (to my surprise) the black one. Paper quality is central to me so I'll give you a clue: paper was not perfect for fountain pens in the old version, the new one is very, very nice. I will definitely show you the difference in my review of inserts.
Good video! Will you also be reviewing the X47 line of notebooks? I use an A6 organizer with three inserts and an A6 X47 steel 1-notebook for taking notes. I like the steel (and X17) but prefer the softer leather of the X47. Would be interested to see/hear your comments!

Very comprehensive review! Thank you!!
You're welcome, thank you

Definitely, especially with a cutting machine and slight notebooks.

Oh absolutely, in fact I'm shooting this week. The whole line of x47 Steel in fact.
Hello, was looking into buying an A5 Roterfaden cover and was wondering if you are still using it and if it’s worth the investment? Tx
Well, I'm still using it yes. Worth the buy depending on what you need. Can you be more precise, please? I might suggest this or another idea.
Actually, I’ve been using the Travelers journal as a planner, record keeping and notes but found it way too small and not easy to lay flat..
@@stephanieah-kye6440 I agree, now you would be moving from a flat traveler's notebook to a thick notebook but it is nicer if you write a lot.
Thanks!
