    Good commentary - really makes me doubt using their platform to invest. For a relatively lost cost-to-operate company (I assume, they don't have physical assets to procure & maintain, and it's a very simple online product), it seems strange that they're running at a loss.

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much 😊 Well in my view the platform and the loss are two different things. The platform itself probably doesn't have many running costs. But the company itself and their salaries and office building and call centre staff etc. I think there is a bigger cost there. But all platforms have to follow financial rules and regulations and have insurances in place to cover loss of clients. So personally I'm not worried about investing in them as a platform. But yes, their holding company needs to turn things around for sure.

    Hi Chris. What is the current status of EE please? Are our investments safe ?

  • @zwitattoos4942
    @zwitattoos4942 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    2020 was the halving cycle for BTC and then on 2021 was the ATH so the beginning of 2022 the markets fell, i think the markets will go wild again in the year 2024 t0 late 2025

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you on that. By 2024/25 we should in all likelihood start to see interest rates coming down and much of the economic turmoil start to resolve. So those who invest now I think should see some good returns in those years. Very good point 👌

    how about investments in svcapital and living stock wealth, i have not seen any of your vids on such. Do you think they are worth it for the long game?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have invested in Livestock Wealth in the past. There is a video on the channel called "Invest in Farming in South Africa (Livestock Wealth)". From I think about a year ago. I used them and I got my returns, but I had a lot of problems with the service of the company and getting my allocations and eventually I met with the CEO, Shezi and we sorted out the issue. So as long as the company has its admin issues sorted out, I think the return is very good. But you can check out the video if you want 😊. I haven't really looked at SV Capital, I have heard of it but don't know alot about it.
      Have you used them and what has your experience been?

    So what’s your take on investing in the EasyEquities platform for other shares and which platforms can I invest in that have a long track record of investors

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
      So all trading platforms are governed by regulations. And technically they have to follow certain liquidity requirements, for EE specifically. As long as they're following all regulations which I imagine they would be. Your money is fine and safe. I'll be continuing to use EasyEquities to invest. However I think if you're looking for another option, the banks are a good option. So standard bank I believe has a very good share trading platform. Fnb also has one. I guess that guarantees quite a bit of safety if you want to look at that. Personally I'll still use EE, but banks are another option. They just tend to cost a bit more.

    I remember that early PPE period - I wouldnt be suprised if those influencers on Twitter who harrased us to buy and go long on PPE were waiting to cash out on its crash. They did a bit of a "pump-and-dump"

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember those times as well 😂 Unfortunately many people are just out for their own interests. Especially on twitter, just trying to inflate the share price for themselves. It's a pity, but I don't think they'll make it long term 😊

    satrix s&p 500 etf funds vs the Vanguard ? What are your thoughts. Is there a case for indirect vs direct offshore investing.

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There absolutely is a case. The biggest difference will be the currency difference. In the growth of Satrix or Vanguard you can find mostly the same growth. But, if the dollar appreciates to the Rand, which it has over the last 20 years and beyond. The. Your profits will be exponential as opposed to liner. So that's the reason, Vanguard will invest in dollars and Satrix in rands. 😊

    • @kirtankasiram1307
      @kirtankasiram1307 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CasualCashthanks for the response. So do you think then that it’s worth transferring my satrix funds to vanguard ?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well technically over the last 20 years you would have made more growth by using the Vanguard. Just because the Rand had depreciated to the dollar during that time. Myself I've got both, I have a rands version and USD version (more money in USD). Honestly either will do well over the long term, but technically the Vanguard historically has done better compared to the Rand version 😊 but up to you. Can't go wrong either way. It's your preference

    Mr Casual cash may I ask what P/E ratio would you say is healthy… is the 6 of Anglo American too high too..?!

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So there are different healthy ratios for different industries. In technology companies they tend to be higher, and FMCG and banks they tend to be lower. So there is no one size fits all unfortunately. However, I would say typically a PE between 5-20 overall is a good range. 6 is perfectly fine for Anglo.
      What is suggest it to use Simply Wall Street, which is a website. When you search the company and go to PE ratio, it gives you a comparison between that company and its competitors PE ratio. That's the best way I think 👍

      Thanks that's a great question. I just saw on the platform now that there are options where you can give longer periods with a discount. Which would be a great option to give people. Is this something you would be looking for? If so I'll see if I can put together an option for you. Perhaps other people would enjoy it too 😊
      Thanks so much, really glad you enjoy the channel 😊

      Hey 😊
      So I have checked up on it with Patreon. They only offer 12 months upfront subscriptions, with the discount. Unfortunately, it is only available for Patreons that earn over $200pm for 3 months. We only charge a very small fee so we don't meet that 😊. Sorry, if I could I would. Maybe in the future if we meet that we'll be able to 😂
      But thanks so much for the support. Really appreciate you 👊

    Since they are running at a loss, does this mean that EasyEquities could potentially shut down?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว

      Look nothing is impossible. But I really don't think it would be the case. I think more likely they'll trim their operating costs at their offices. They still do have cash assets that can be used. I think it's a tough time and they'll readjust, but I doubt they'd close down altogether. They've got a great product and huge market share. So personally I don't think that will be the case 😊 possible, but not likely I think.

    Will be interesting to see the long term prospects as the business of fractional investing from an African perspective is life changing for the average investor looking for low costs and lots of exposure and returns.

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely, personally I don't think the fractional investing model will go anywhere. I think it will still be strong. But where that leaves Purple Group we will have to see.

    Do you think purple will recover?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really is hard to say. Especially because their PE ratio is still so incredibly high. Personally I think the company will go back into a profit, either sooner or later. So I think the business will be just fine. But as for the share price, it was never meant to be that high. Even if the company was doing well. So personally I don't think the share price will reach where it was any time soon. But I think the business itself will do ok in time. But of course, we don't know yet. 😊
