- The first song on the first album! Sang by Vaaj Ntxawg. Sadly he passed away before the first album was released. His liver failed after a transplant surgery. He was the main vocals on the first album.

Indeed the first main vocalist was Vaam Ntxawg. I was fortunate enough to see him sing live when I was younger. The band in the 80's was mostly comprised of my cousins and brother inlaws. As a teenager my cousins and I would setup the equipment for the band on stage and travel with the band to some extent. My brother is the bass player on the band and he is currently a Pharmacist. Many thanks to all the faithful listeners.
Love kab nqausvas...ib lub tshiab
Miss the 80’s
These guys are the best. Over 30 years and their music is still relevant. The first popular Hmong band in the U.S.
One of the best of the best for Hmong in book

Respect to the pioneers.

@leedan74, thanks. I checked out that song. This remake of "Peb Yog Leej Twg" is not bad but I think it didn't have the magic of the old version.

@hmoobmusic1 Could I please ask where I can find their albums?
Does any here have a copy of Vinai Hmong band from the mid 80s? I can compensate you for a copy. Let me know. Thanks.
Anybody know this Hmong song that I'm looking for, it's a duet (a man and a woman singing it), some of the middle phrases go something like this in Hmong:
man--"Why am I called John and you are called Mary"
woman--"Don't know why you are called John and I am called Mary"
both--"Cannot think through who we've become"
I listened to it as a kid in the 80s. I like to find that song again. It might even be sung by Kaab Nqausvas...??
Nej Puas Paub Peb Yog Leej Twg. I believe the lady singer is Poj Qaib Lis.
The band is “muaj peev xwm”. The song title is “peb yog Leej twg”
If North Korea's Kim Jun IL gets over 10,000 likes on FB, he will consider not nuking he USA.

Kab nqos vias, in the early days, they called CRICKET. Wrong meaning, kab nqos vias should have defined as CICADA or closed to that.
Kab nqos vias=Cicada
Kab npis=Cricket
