You have explained a topic in 16 minutes that would have otherwise have taken me 3+ hours of watching lectures, would like to see some more Public Law Videos :)
Hi Marcus, a few months ago I had my LLB first year examinations. In that time I was entirely clueless as to what I should do. I was sure that I was going to be failing and having to take resit exams. I was especially worried about Public Law as I had very limited knowledge about it. However, your videos not only helped me pass but I was able to get a 60/100. I just came back here to thank you for your videos as I am not sure what I would have done without them. (I also managed to pass all other exams thankfully)
Hey, loved reading your comment , I am in the same position but am doing MA LAW , I hope i get the great help from Marcus videos too :) . Lors of love and prayers
this is so unbelievably useful, I've got 3 days to write a 5,000 dissertation on 'the rule of law gradually taking over as the organising principle of our constitution' and you've explained this so well and made it so easy!!! thank you Marcus!!!
Thank you Marcus this video is extremely helpful, its clear and well presented. God bless you for taking the time to put this together to help others like me.
Excellent video! One trifling note: while you are correct to state that in Germany, treaties take effect when signed by the head of state (cf Article 59 (1) of the Basic Law), in the United States, treaties can only take effect when signed by the head of state AND ratified by the second chamber- the Senate (cf Article II (2) of the US constitution).
Hi Marcus, you posted this video some time ago and I just watched to help with an assignment. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with, I am a mature student and sometimes I struggle to simplify my notes. I had the knowledge of most of what you talked about but your video allowed me to make connections and sense of my learning interventions. I am know a subscriber and adding your videos to my revision notes. If you are considering a career in academia you should definitely go for it! Good luck for the future and thanks again! Elizabeth
Thank you so much! I'm only 13 and I was able to understand a lot of this! This has really helped my make connections for my world history class. And you managed to keep my attention through the whole thing! Thank you :)
Again, Marcus, this video has helped me no end. with this, my workshop notes and lecture notes, I really hope I will understand it completely when GDL exam season comes in January! I was just wondering if you could do a few a videos to help me and anyone else struggling with these areas of law: Criminal - Offences Against The Person 1861 (all about s.18, 20, 47, physical assault and simple assault), Sexual Offences, Criminal Damage. Any of those would be super helpful. I love the way you explain the topics - so simple to understand. Keep up the great work!
As a politics undergraduate student, this has been one of the most helpful videos, very simply and clearly explained. Does this all apply still despite the triggering of article 50?
Good video!! I have my constitutional law exam soon, appreciate the video. I was wondering what's your take on the Bill of Rights 1689 with regards to balancing powers? Also will you be considering doing a lecture on written/unwritten constitution? Thanks again!
Well I guess the main thing from the Bill of Rights is article 9 that sets out parliamentary sovereignty. Worth having a look at the case of R v Chaytor though to see its limits.
@@marcuscleaver ohhh I figured! Its wonderful that you found another thing that you're great at. I hav a IT deg. and trying at an LLB ...here I am counting down the modules
Watching this in December 2020. With the tyranny we are now living under, I am attempting to educate myself on our law. It would be great to see a video on Common Law, Magna Carta and the truth of the power of the People. We need this very important information now. 🙏🌸
You should do a video on the Bill of Rights 1688 which only 1% of the population are aware still exists and is very valid. Many Acts of parliament violate this bill. :O
At 4:43 you say: Rhodesia declared independence without act of parliament from UK and this was questioned in British courts and they upheld the idea that Britain had sovereignty over Rhodesia. Do you have any examples of cases?
Thank uuuu...u really help me with my government and politics work .i was sooo confused in class. I would really love it if u would make more videos on government and politics specifications
no act, legislation or statute is enforceable, except through threats, cohersion, intimidation and violence. which is all against common law. it can also be enforced by consent and consent is individual.

Hey man, I've seen some good videos, thank you! We in our uni, last week had an EU law exam. PErsonally I had trouble with two topics: The CEEs + MEQRs, and the Direct and individual concern. It would be great to see some videos where you cover this.

Can we say parliament is still sovereign in modern day?
It's becoming less the case each day given the growing power of the executive branch.

Hi Marcus,
Apart from judicial review , would courts still be able to declare act of parliament invalid on any other grounds ?
Even judicial review doesn't make Acts of Parliament invalid!

Jesus dude, talk about a sense of entitlement. Find your own references :-)
Legislation isnt law. The people came before the law. Therefore their wants come after ours.
"EU Law is Supreme over National Law, only because an Act of Parliament says it is" savage hahaha
To become an Mp you must swear aliegance to her majesty the queen, how NUTTY is that 😄
Parliament is not sovereign and never has been, read the Declaration of Rights and the Coronation oath, this is the rule of law and confirms the fact
Looks like you like cheese mate
