I think you both have some valid points! I personally don’t vibe with Stephen A at all I liked max more. Stephen A said that the show wasn’t dropping in ratings at all but that it wasn’t climbing the way he wanted. They stayed at the top. The show did drop upon maxes exit. I don’t know that it bounced right back after three weeks but I’m sure it started recouping some of those lost numbers upon introducing the Shannon sharp talk and the mass firings. Did those bounce back numbers surpass the previous numbers just because of Stephen A and despite max? I don’t know, but you are right that he said he wanted to bring someone in who adds more to the ratings climb and I’m pretty sure Shannon is doing that right now. So Stephen may have upgraded in that aspect but we will have to see overtime if that holds true. Max was given a consolation prize of a show in a slot that wasn’t meant to contend with the headliners at all. That argument against max is a moot point. The time slots alone probably 80 % of his viewers. Keyshawn Jwill and Max was great. ESPN decided to reformat had max been on first take still he would have been safe. Unlike Keyshawn max couldnt head straight over to undisputed yet and that’s only because they were all probably like we can’t have a throwback young nicer version of skip debating skip. I think you both have some valid points! I personally don’t vibe with Stephen A at all I liked max more. Stephen A said that the show wasn’t dropping in ratings at all but that it wasn’t climbing the way he wanted. They stayed at the top. The show did drop upon maxes exit. I don’t know that it bounced right back after three weeks but I’m sure it started recouping some of those lost numbers upon introducing the Shannon sharp talk and the mass firings. Did those bounce back numbers surpass the previous numbers just because of Stephen A and despite max? I don’t know, but you are right that he said he wanted to bring someone in who adds more to the ratings climb and I’m pretty sure Shannon is doing that right now. So Stephen may have upgraded in that aspect but we will have to see overtime if that holds true. Max was given a consolation prize of a show in a slot that wasn’t meant to contend with the headliners at all. That argument against max is a moot point. The time slots alone probably 80 % of his viewers. Keyshawn Jwill and Max was great. ESPN decided to reformat had max been on first take still he would have been safe. Unlike Keyshawn max couldnt head straight over to undisputed yet and that’s only because they were all probably like we can’t have a throwback young nicer version of skip debating skip. I bet skip gives him a call when he’s ready to retire . With all that said shannon sharpe May be complimentary piece that is able to push the threshold higher than what max did. The ratings of that show have tanked since Max was kicked off it. And saying "it's him or me" is getting him fired from it. And the mass ESPN layoffs had nothing to do with ratings, which everyone (else) knows. Merely repeating SAS' excuses isn't the same thing as making an argument.
