World's Largest Movable Structure - The Arch of Chernobyl: • Extreme Construction: ...
Although dogged by controversy, the Mose, a system of mobile walls that emerge when the sea is about to submerge the city of Venice, is nearing completion. Moving the massive floating barriers is a job that Fagioli has been accomplishing for several years now, but never before has the company actually laid 19 of them in one session. Each barrier weighs 40 tonnes and needs to be attached to a complex system of levers and hinges. The logistics of moving the barriers is a nightmare, as they come in from the work sites and are laid on top of the concrete emplacements. It is a race against time, to save the city from the winter high tides. But will it work?

I was in school in the '60s and seventies and they showed 300 years of Venice sinking now, it's the oceans raising.
They also taught us that there were boys and girls now there is an infinite number of sexes.🤔
The smart thing would have been to bring in the Dutch on this. They are the undisputed master of dealing with problems like this .
This will be a maintenance nightmare
Sea level raise, lol
It will be good to see this all swept away at the same forthcoming battle of Armageddon.
it was either that ridiculous thing or spend a ridiculous amount on installing new foundations...Either way; it's ridiculous.
Why not do what the Dutch did land lock it make the outer Seawall permanent and control what sea water come and goes thus keeping the wetlands alive and preserving Venice make a docking port harbour
Saving the Venice not world responsibility its Europe's responsibility world have lot's of problems 😅😂
umm we never need your help. rofl

Why can't they surround the city with a protective wall?

Blame it on climate change!!!
I knew it..
Wood pier's rot over time. We all know that.
For 20% of cost of mose ,geophysicist from Italy stop dredging the lagoon and the natural buildup of sediment will decrease the rate of sinking..unfortunately Rome as usual for the last 5decades discourages young Italian scientists and engineers half have left Italy out of frustration, higher compensation and respect .Italys leaders for decades have gone for the gold which was concentrated in Italy. Symptoms 500,000 illegal immigrants in Italian camps, not screened ,not vetted and identified beyond basics .
Man trying to outsmart Mother Nature……..🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣
