Chester was the face of the band, but Mike Shinoda is what pulled the band together in the first place with their mix of different genres (mainly rock & rap at this point), and heck, this song in particular is the final version of a song called "Rhinestone" which has been in the works ever since 1997 or even earlier. Shinoda's been there ever since the start with the rap parts, but before Chester joined, it was someone else, Mark Wakefield. There's a much more easy-to-find version that's much later when you just google "Rhinestone Linkin Park", and you can find an early version with Chester by searching "Forgotten Demo". However, there's one thing in common with all of them: Mike Shinoda.

and as for not liking Linkin Park, it is simply understandable. Not everyone can like one thing, and no one can like everything.
