    Hi,
    I liked all your videos n nicely explained☺️☺️☺️.Thank you very much.
    Requesting to make more videos of ACI like L3outs with BGP, Firewall,F5 integration,PBR,microsegmentation.

    Thanks Jeff,
    one Query-- I see that you selected two interfaces from each leaf ( 1/39 & 1/40 on 201 & 202 leaf switches), wondering why did Port-channel summary show two ports

    • @jeffmiller7312
      @jeffmiller7312  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, it would be two ports per leaf in that scenario. Hopefully that helps. If not, let me know. Thanks Jeff

      My bad.. I didn't notice that the port-channel on Nexus also was a VPC .. I got it . Excellent Video Jeff. Thank you so much

    Wow, no additional information on adding more VLAN-IDs to the vPC. Who uses a single trunked VLAN on a vPC. I'm stuck now.

    Hey Jeff Awsome vid! I had a question about the layer 2 stuff. Can i apply the same VPC to more than one EPG?

    • @jeffmiller7312
      @jeffmiller7312  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, sorry for the delayed response. Yes, you can use the same VPC on multiple time on the EPG or different EPGs as long as you use a different VLAN encap.

    Thanks Jeff, good video. I have one question....There are three different modes ( Trunk, Access 802.1p & Access-untageged) while configuring VPC in ACI, however in vlan encapsulation field why we cannot enter vlan-range or multiple vlans? Please help to understand how I can extend multiple vlans through ACI VPC link.

    • @jeffmiller7312
      @jeffmiller7312  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vijay, sorry for the delay here. VLANs are tied to the EPG which is bound to the VPC. So to have multiple VLANs over a VPC you would simply have either multiple EPGs (recommended in network centric) or Multiple VLAN tags tied to the VPC. So it would go EPG --> Static Port Binding (VLAN Tag) to VPC - repeat this step as many VLANs as you need. I also demonstrated in the video a newer way to accomplish this under the AEP as well, but I don't want to confuse thing further for you. :)
      Hope this helps and keep trying different methods until it clicks!
      Thanks for the question and watching.
      Jeff

    So is it safe to say that when you expand the L2 bridge domain, you're creating an L2 External Bridge Domain, and when you're expanding the L2 EPG you're creating a L2 Physical Domain?

    Thanks Jeff. I have question regarding underlay (MP-BGP, EVPN, ISIS and Multicast) and overlay (VXLAN). don't you need to setup underlay and overlay first before you could use ACI controller? I'm new to NEXUS 9K and ACI datacenter.

    • @jeffmiller7312
      @jeffmiller7312  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, so great question. Cisco ACI is a completely automated modern network fabric. Meaning the configuration of the MP-BGP, VXLAN, IP Addressing, etc... of the underlay is done automatically. With Cisco ACI you move from the need to understand those configurations and only configure the network for the policy or function it should run. Cisco ACI is policy based networking. Example would be segmentation of the application based on application flows or segmentation based on traditional networking (i.e. VLAN, Subnets, etc...).
      Hopefully that helps and I will try and make a video of the initial fabric build process in order to see the underlay build.
      Thanks for the feedback!
      Jeff

      Hi Jeff, thanks a lot. apologies for coming back for another questions. i'd like to ask about initial hardware connection between spine and leaf. if i have 2xn9k as spine and4x n9k as leaf, the engineer just plug the cable between spine and leaf and once spine and leaf were connected, apic will be able to see it? thanks again.

    • @jeffmiller7312
      @jeffmiller7312  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, yes the fabric will be auto discovered via LLDP starting with the first APIC connected to the first leaf. I will try to make a video of the initial fabric build as soon as I am able and explain what's going on during the build.

    Hi Jeff. After adding a physical domain to an EPG you can click on it and define port encapsulation. Could you plz explain, what does this parameter mean?

    • @vetrichelvham
      @vetrichelvham 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      aaspirin if you’re adding physical domain into your epg. you should choose the static port under epg for where you have the physical devices like computer or any other appliances

    also we are planning to leave the SVI on our 5k's for now. will it still work?

    • @jeffmiller7312
      @jeffmiller7312  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely this will work and is very common during migrations. You will need to make sure you enable flooding on the BD in order to ensure proper functionality.

    looks like all this "automation" becomes "click here", "click there" for 30 times to have the system configuring "automatically" those 30 commands that previously you were doing by hand
