Great shot son. A lady at our camp killed A buck past Saturday without His boys underneath. It was also still in velvet. We figured it had been drinking all that Budlight that folks here in south arkansas had poured out😂
Congratulations David! Excellent job! You did everything right! There's more to it than just a shot. And Congratulations to you too Dad! I've felt very few things in life that gave me as much pride as to sit shoulder to shoulder to my sons when they're harvesting a deer to feed the family! Thanks for taking us all along! It's been a pleasure 😊
No nuts, half a heart 💔 and that smoke was very neat. Good shot David! You can say you were the last one to break his heart. Everything else was broken... 🤣
Kansas here. Back in the latter 1970s, my dad harvested what he thought was a decent-size Whitetail buck (body wise), that had a small 8 point rack. Hunting strickly for meat, he was ok with the small rack. Anyway...we drug the deer to the truck and headed home to the farm. When we got home and went to gut the deer, we realized that it wasn't a buck at all! Yes, it had antlers. However it had no "male" genital parts... and had ALL of the "female" genital , including ovaries!! Fortunately his license was for "any sex"!
Great job David ! I think I told you before but I saw an 8 point doe years ago . That buck short changed you guys lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
I’ve been given deer before and I always appreciated it fully! It’s not good for people to hunt if they don’t want the deer….. but giving it to someone who appreciates it is definitely a good thing!
I saw one once where it was a doe with antlers, but they found some mountain oysters up inside it once the cleaning process had started. There was no way whatsoever I would have eaten the darn thing. I'm glad I wasn't the one who harvested it because it might have went to waste if I couldn't find someone to take it.
With him not showing any for testicles, they could very well be sitting inside his abdomen, it happens to a few animals, I just had to have my vet finish castrating my Buck goat, one was banded the other was inside his abdomen. Nice to see a tasty deer for the table.
A friend of mine killed a 6 pointer from SC, and the buck had never lost his horns for at least 3 years, they had really rough velvet and you could see where they grew every year. We talked with the Game Warden as we checked it in and he said sometimes the Daddy buck will gnawl them off and the little buck is steril and the horns grow funky.
Had that been a squirrel, I would have known why it was slick. With a deer, I have no idea. That is definitely the first time I've seen that. Definitely a memorable hunt. Congratulations David!!!!
Good morning Bro. Micah. Been offline for a while catching up on some unfinished projects before Winter. Now I have to play catch up on your videos. Seems like my whole life is spent catching up. Good job David.
😂😂😂😂 he aint got no…. Mountain Oysters. I ate lamb fry over in Oklahoma City..was not bad I just wasn’t man enough to finish them. Guess it’s because I’m a Lambright, and I would hate to think about the reverse scenario!
I filled a doe tag several years ago...Walked up and she smelled like a rutting buck? Hmm...Get to looking and it had both male and female organs...buttons on the head that never quite broke through and the back teeth worn way down...not a young deer. The biologist said not totally unheard of, but not very common as well. Congrats and nice shot.

I had a similar thought! My soybeans were non GMO…….. but across the road there was 400 acres of GMO beans that probably got munched on. However I don’t think it’s the real issue here.
I’d have to hear that from a biologist. No way I believe that. Especially with no nuts…… he couldn’t grow this size in 6 months……….BUT if that is true, and you ARE correct…… I wouldn’t change anything about this hunt. 6 months or 18 months, makes no difference to me.
A guy I knew shot a doe that was following a doe with fawns.the mother doe wasvery agressivey chasing off the old doe. When the old doe was dropped it had no horns but did have balls.

Sometimes new year’s comes but the balls don’t drop lol. Still got testosterone to grow horns but might be sterile from being too warm inside the belly.
No he sure didn't. I'm glad some of the other bucks didn't think he was a lady 😂. I just came out of your state of Tennessee Mcgie, even though I believe Greenville is a good haul from you lol. You guys are having another great season so far. Thankfully I have 4 in the freezer myself and a few sets of oysters to feast on. Dad thought I was crazy when I told him I saved his jingle bells to eat 😂
When I was a boy I heard a story from dad and some of his friends about a doe that was taken with a nice set of antlers. A perfect 8 point. So it was taken to a lab and at that time had limited tests, but it was determined to be a doe about 5 years old. This was in the Adirondack mountains.
