The exposition of season 1, that presented the story as Evil u-mans vs. noble elves was a set-up from the very beginning. What we've seen from the elves so far they are no better than any u-man on average.

Honestly, I don’t like the idea of a commander who can’t talk. I feel like they tried to recapture Tophs idea, where she had a disability. But for Toph, her disability made her strong and gave her abilities both unique to her and were very effective in combat. Literally she would be weaker if she wasn’t blind. She has her strengths and weaknesses that was unique to her. This chick though… I don’t see it. There is no strength to bring mute as a commander. Quite the opposite in fact. It’s detrimental. How is she supposed to effectively give orders and communicate with her men? She either needs everyone to know sign language or needs an interpreter to speak to her own men. I get what they were going with, but it doesn’t work here.

rather than adding more and more lgbqt-themed stuff I would rather see more disability related character added to a story like Amaya. I don't need more people flaunting with their sexuality or genderisms (you can keep some in) What I need is to see more disabled characters living normal lives along "normal" despite having a handycap

Honestly, I don’t like the idea of a commander who can’t talk.
I feel like they tried to recapture Tophs idea, where she had a disability. But for Toph, her disability made her strong and gave her abilities both unique to her and were very effective in combat. Literally she would be weaker if she wasn’t blind. She has her strengths and weaknesses that was unique to her.
This chick though… I don’t see it. There is no strength to bring mute as a commander. Quite the opposite in fact. It’s detrimental. How is she supposed to effectively give orders and communicate with her men? She either needs everyone to know sign language or needs an interpreter to speak to her own men.
I get what they were going with, but it doesn’t work here.
