Johnny Gross, I’m watching this time capsule for the first time! In 1966 I was on my first tour of three in Vietnam. Also 67 and 68. Ah yes, meeting interesting Southeast Asian people and killing them from above. The joys of being a Marine Corps fighter pilot flying F4 Phantoms. Over “the friendly skies” on North Vietnam!

Although "American Bandstand" wasn't broadcast in color until the fall of 1967, it's my understanding that the new set unveiled in the fall of 1964 was designed so it would look good on color TV as well as in black-and-white.

I wonder if any of the young people dancing here have seen themselves now going on 51+ years. I surmise the youngest ones that appear would be 16 or 17 that would make them 67-68 years old. They look so young. But from my perspective in 1966 they looked older to me. Amazing how age(me getting older) changes your perception. Great tune by a good band. Heck Herman(Peter Noone) was not much older than me.

My parents grew up in the swing era. Mom thought The Beatles were great. She also liked The Kinks, Creedence Clearwater Revival - and "Sunshine Of Your Love" by Cream. My father was a staunch Frank Sinatra fan. He couldn't stand The Beatles - until one night he saw Sinatra sing "Yesterday" on TV, and he finally came around. Next thing you know, he bought "The Who Sell Out" on a 4-track cartridge for the family car! I remember the family on summer vacation, driving all over Cape Cod, singing along with The Who.

@@paulclough8541 yeah, you are correct. I think I’ve heard her say Pat Reddy (Spotlight Dance - My World Is Empty Without You”) or something like that in those clips you reference. Definitely not Maureen Cohen though. My only excuse is that I posted this 5+ years ago, before I really knew the dancers. Thank you for the correction.
Here is who I mistook her for:

Dear Precious One, during your moments of prayer, at times you may wonder "is He listening?" "Sometimes it feels as if God isn’t listening to me.” Those words, from a woman who tried to stay strong in her walk with God while coping with an alcoholic husband, echo the heartcry of many believers. For many years, she asked God to change her husband. Yet it never happened.
So what are we to think when we repeatedly ask God for something good-something that could easily glorify Him-but the answer doesn’t come? Is He listening or not?
Well let's look at the life of our Savior Jesus Christ. In the garden of Gethsemane, He agonized for hours in prayer, pouring out His heart and pleading, “Let this cup pass from Me” (Matt. 26 : 39 nkjv). But the Father’s answer was clearly “No.” To provide salvation, God had to send Jesus to die on the cross. Even though Jesus felt as if His Father had forsaken Him, He prayed intensely and passionately because He trusted that God was listening.
When we pray, we may not see how God is working or understand how He will bring good through it all. So we have to trust Him. We relinquish our rights and let God do what is best. We must leave the unknowable to the all-knowing One. Trust in the TRUTH that He is listening and working things out in our lives in His way....which will ALWAYS be the best way. Begin your life of trusting in The Lord by first acknowledging that you are a sinner in need of our Savior. Welcome the righteousness of Jesus Christ into your life. Receive grace through faith by believing in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross. His death, burial and resurrection. You will then be secured and justified in salvation. You will be rewarded greatly and your life will be forever changed! God bless you in the Glorious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior.❤️❤️❤️
Please find comfort and joy in praying the following prayer with me. Dear Lord Jesus, we don’t need to know the reason our prayers sometimes go unanswered. Help us just to wait for Your time, because You are good. We know that when we bend our knees to pray, You bend Your ears to listen, and we thank You so much for that. We honor You, we glorify You, we worship You and we thank You. This we pray in Your Mighty name, Jesus The Christ, Amen.

Msdogooder you took the words out of my. I fell head over heels when this song was #1,but I never could connect with her 1966, thru all the years after that, till 1992 when I finally told her how I had felt about her, she later told me she cried all the way home. The good thing about this is that I saved her from her abusive idiot husband. As for me GOD gave me an Angel for a wife been married since 1974. GOD knows what he is doing Thank You GOD thank you LORD JESUS CHRIST and thank you HOLY SPIRIT.
