I love that absolutely relaxed ride feeling Chris emanates in every situation, be it leg-deep mud bath or an uphill wheelie alongside the Great Wall :)
Great video Birchy! Thanks for posting it up, looks like some great countryside for riding, riders of varying ability tackling some pretty heavy duty terrain at times 😲💪
I'm happy you are possible, Chris. That means there is still hope. Not for me ( I'm 56 and started to ride offroad a couple of years ago) ,but is nice to see that leaving a dream it's still there. I know that the chance of somebody to ride like you is like winning the lotto but hope is the last to die. Thank you :)
What an experience, such a country of divergent wealth and lifestyles. Fascinating to see the Great Wall in its most basic formation. I live in the UK near Hadrians Wall which also ranges from earth banks to rubble mounds then engineered stonework walls and complex Fort structures. The sheer effort these past civilisations expended on defending their territory. Learned a lot seeing you guide and help the riders. Well done you.
This is epic. I've never ridden off-road but I am swapping my S for an R over the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to new challenges and fun times. Would love to meet you one day. Greetings from the UK!
Lovely country and people, I lived there for 8 years and enjoyed every minute even though I could only ride a scooter legally there, but the milli r was waiting back in old Blighty . Great video
We have so many misconceptions about other countries and cultures. Embarrassingly I was surprised to see cows in China! I'm such a dummy!! We've been indoctrinated to believe that Chinese people are so different than us, but in the end, we're all the same. It doesn't matter where we're from nor what we believe, the love of motorbikes and adventure is universal. I loved this video.
Really enjoyed the vid Chris.. your layed back style makes for great videos. This brings back many happy memories trail riding, and bike adventures in southern China. Lived there for 10 years 👍👍
the trip was great. the scenery, the roads are extremely beautiful and wild. you have a good motorbike and its sound is so exciting i love everything in your video.
Hey Chris, unfortunately there seems to be an editing mistake. Starting around 13:00 the audio is delayed by around four to five seconds. It's back to normal around 20:30 in the video tho.
Nice video once more. About that pedal repair around 11 minutes.... I've always wondered why KTM doesn't come up with a foldable/ rotating one, similar to the folding Powerparts shifting lever pedal...
Did you have to edit out the part where the lady didn’t take your advice? 😂 I honestly don’t think that was intentional BTW she looked to be in the passenger seat on that one! 😂 hats off to her though, I’d have stalled it trying to get going! 😂 Really wanna go to China after seeing this!
What an awesome place to ride. How many bikes did you pick up over the course of the rally mate? New NZ dead lift championship coming your way 😂 Do you plan on running any of your Say No To Slow Adventure riding clinics here in Oz anytime soon ? Cheers for sharing, Bro 🍻🍻
Maybe change Camera angle so we can see part of the bike(at least handlebar like the mtb guys) just to give reference to video now it feels like drone footage, otherwise love the content
If only the political situation globally wasn't awful and getting there by bike was easier. Definitely a bucket list thing for me to go there by bike somehow, beautiful country.
@@ChrisBirchNZ That is probably correct, Ask any KOVE owner an they will tell you that all KTM are built in China. Guess they are mad? IDK. Good to see you tearing it up in China, When you going to be on the east coast of the states?
I love to watch your movies love to see where you ride different places meeting different people riding motorbike one thing I do not like is when my Lord's name is been used in Fain(God) 🙏🏻
Just wouldn't be wanting to pay for all the damage some of those guys got. Little off and it soon mounts up. Fantastic trip and experience of a real part of China and people, not what we get fed on the news and media
Yes they are but it's the superficial damage that still costs when you come to sell or trade in if you don't put it back to undamaged. Silencer, damaged plastics etc etc.
My personal take on it is that these bikes are way too much money to not enjoy it. It doesn’t make sense to me to spend $20k plus on a bike and then not use it to its potential to save scratches on plastics. I appreciate that’s motorcycle ownership means different things to different people.
Thanks for taking the time to reply Chris. You do a great job showing us what these bikes are capable of and improving your pupils riding skills. Like you say it's up to the individual how they use the machines. Looks like you all had a great time. Cheers👍👍
Wow! Another excellent adventure as always. Hopefully I can get to one of your classes in UT or elsewhere in the UT/CO/AZ/NM area. A class in Moab would be WAY cool, I'd trailer my bike there so I could both ride and then after the class was over take my new truck (Ute?) out as well. I want to try and get better so as to not embarrass myself....well, TOO bad anyways! Seems like the PEOPLE of China are really cool, too bad they have allowed such a horrific government to take over and subjugate them. I really hope they can free themselves from it one day. I'm actually surprised you were allowed to do this ride, but that's way cool! What surprises me is how "Western" some things looked, like some of the buildings (siding, roof, etc.). Also, what was surprising is that they were mostly KTM's, and not some Chinese off-brand, and how kitted out some of the bikes were. Interesting. Ride safe, and keep 'em coming!
When the love of bikes brings people together in all sorts of cultures! What a legend.
Great to see people all over the world living motorcycling.
It sure is!
Why Chris doesn't have a million subscribers is beyond me. As always entertaining to watch!!!!
Thanks so much, Chris. You’re a great ambassador for the brand and the sport.
It’s a lot of fun so you’re welcome!
After everything that you see on TV about China which is big cities this is very different! Bike riders are the same where ever they are!!😁
Very true!
Exactly! Nationality and politics don´t matter which is very good.
I love that absolutely relaxed ride feeling Chris emanates in every situation, be it leg-deep mud bath or an uphill wheelie alongside the Great Wall :)
Watching you just flowing and cruising around, where others have big problems is insane. Big motivation, thank you Chris!
Excited to watch this. It's always so interesting to see the ADV culture in non western countries.

The scenery in the areas you went was spectacular.
It was a beautiful place!
Single trial in China... Awesome!
41:30 that was just insane, with the wheelie at the end, wtf brother?! I had to rewatch it, like 7 times. Keep it up!
It was a tricky one! I had to work for it 😂
Looks like some awesome riding over there!!

I love it when adventure motorcycles bring people together... to Starbucks!
nice to see :-) lovely terrain eh, thanks Chris
Looks awesome!
Woooow amazing 👍👍😉 greetings from Germany!
Rode my dirt bike through similar trails, struggled in some places. It seems so easy for you to ride this behemoth twice the size of my bike there
Rode many of these trails during my expat time in beijing awesome enduro locations and scene
Best video ever
What a good pace for the ride, nice and close to spare cams and followers after they fail in under 20k just like mine and hundreds of others.
Right next to the cheese factory I hear
a bunch of@@wayne_kurrs
looks like some great riding, wish I was able to get out and ride too... no cams no ride
Exactly what I was thinking lol.
Maybe CFMoto has better ones!!! Intake cam on my 790ADV R failed in
So stinkin awesome! #saynotoslow
Living the dream man! see you in September
See you then!
Awesome video, looks like a great place to ride!! The language barrier must have been challenging at times ;-)

Hello from Vietnam master, wish you could come and teach us someday. Great riding!
That rocky hill climb was aces! Are you doing the KTM adv rally in NSW in November?

Yeah, I know! I’m missing Canada
Looks good riding there !!
It was surprisingly good riding!

Hey Mr. Birch when is the video on balance for short riders coming out? I know you mentioned it in your other short rider video.
Ahem… fair point. I haven’t done anything on that yet.
They may look out of their depths now, but wait a few years and these Chinese boys will be flying up those tracks like Kiwis and Aussies.
Fantastic
@ 38:00 Amazingly awesome. You are one lucky dude to get paid to go to these places. 👍🏻
I agree!
Good morning, Chris, I live in Taiwan and is your fans. I really wish you can come to Taiwan and teach us, if has chance, thank you Sir.
Maybe one day!
Surprised they’re not riding CFMOTO and kove lol
Never really thought about wether you could get a KTM there, or even an adv scene.
Chris should work as a translator @1:20 . Looking forward to seeing Chris again on the ABR.
How many bikes did you pick up or how many times did you pick up a bike? Also I love you broham
chris can u mount the go pro on the chin so we see the bike better?
Considering their small stature, they are very brave.
Awesome

Yeah, I’m trying not to be as polite as possible! Let’s chalk that one up to language barrier’s
amazing

I should have kept a count! One of the reasons I have to stay in shape to do this job. 😂 we will have something in Aus next year.

5:26 are you at the ABR Chris

Censored by the CCP 😆

Do South Africa please 🥺
Amazing how modern china has become

Audio sync off before the 20 minute mark?
More than likely. If your looking for crisp editing skills this is not the channel for you 😂
@@ChrisBirchNZ editing is the worst part of a TH-cam channel!
How are you supposed to control the motorcycle, when you can’t control the controls that control the motorcycle! 😂
Since China builds all the KTM now i suspect we will see more of these episodes.
To the best of my knowledge, this bike (790R) is the only KTM made in China at this time.
