I'll never forget meeting Johnny Cash. It was at the Houston Collesium. I went back stage and asked someone how I could meet him. He told me to stand in a certain place against the wall and when Johnny came out that backstage door, I would be the first one he would greet. Sure enough he came out with the warmest grin I had ever seen, walked right up to me, shook my hand and said "how you doin' fella?" Johnny Cash was a great man.
Been through this with a girl I loved so much this year and wow this song is so powerful. Must of played this song about ten times over and over on the Folsom prison version on my walk the other day. Amazing song.
Just a handful of Verses to express the most complicated feeling in the world perfectly. In my opinion one of the best love songs out there, Cash's voice is haunting.
Johnny's top song, perhaps not in sales or chart action, but in sheer, heartbreaking beauty. Without doubt one of the greatest lost love songs ever written.
At my door the leaves are falling A cold wild wind will come Sweethearts walk by together And I still miss someone I go out on a party And look for a little fun But I find a darkened corner 'Cause I still miss someone Oh, no I never got over those blue eyes I see them every where I miss those arms that held me When all the love was there I wonder if she's sorry For leavin' what we'd begun There's someone for me somewhere And I still miss someone
I met Johnny cash in Rome ga at Byron stadium my son was young and wanted to meet him my cousin was a police man standing at his bus door I walked over to a police man at the fence and told him to tell my cousin Randy that Bobby wanted to meet Johnny cash so Randy told Johnny and he came down to where we were and shook hands with Bobby and talked to us Bobby will never forget that he was just a regular and great guy
This song reminds me of my childhood and in particular my Grandparents and growing up in Kokoda, Papua New Guinea. They raised me on a small plantation where they grew cocoa and coffee. My grandfather was a veteran and tended to his plantation with much love and dedication aided by his wife my Grandmother. After a days hard work they would sit and put on music like this on their record player and have sweet black tea and watch the sun set together. I would be busy playing near them and waiting for the evening meal. They were wonderful times.
I met my wife 43 yrs ago. I knew she was different. We had been dating about 2 weeks. She had an ex coming into town and they went to dinner. I was hurt that she kept this date. I planned to not call her again. If I had it would have been a terrible mistake. I called her the next day and we went out. We were married 7 months later. Such an incredible life we have had together. I still love someone.
Johnny always sang and wrote from the bottom of his heart. After all, this is what made him a giant - being true in what he did... He will always be an idol to me. Though, sadly, I never chanced to see him live on stage...
I still miss my first wife. She is dead. My current is very understanding when it comes to her. She is the only woman I ever full loved. RIP Amber!!!!!
He changed a few words to make it sound like more of a love song but it was first inspired by John always feeling like there was a piece of him missing since Jack died.
@Irishsheking My Father died from a life of heavy drinking when I was just 8,, He loved Johnny Cash and I always think of him whenever I hear Johnny Cash
I still miss someone from 40-odd years ago, green eyes not blue but still gorgeous. Love to know what became of her, but very apt song, brings back all sorts of memories. My favourite Johnny Cash song.
What are you talking about lol. That's like saying you feel sorry for people who put Zeppelin and rock & roll in the same sentence... What the fuck do you mean
First time I heard this is was my Grandfather playing it. Lost him 6 months ago. Today would have been his 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday Grandad. Still miss you.
I'm here bc of Jack Dalton - he made that show McGyver. And tho it's just a show he reminds me my Dad that passed away few weeks back. This show has helped me so RIP JD AND PAPI💔
I had no opportunity to go to the legendary Johnny Cash concert in Prague in the spring of 1978. I saw it later in television from the recording. Perfect performance. Johnny is a country legend. Listen well to the piano sound. The pianist wanted to take the piano right from the concert home to the USA. This has not happened.
Johnny's nephew Roy wrote a poem for a college class, showed it to Johnny. It was the "B" side of DON'T TAKE YOUR LOVE TO TOWN, nothing much expected from it. On a country music discussion group we assembled over 50 'covers' of it. Other than the almost countless versions of Johnny doing it, hunt Bob Luman's haunting recitation.
my mother taught me how to tune a guitar with this song in 1964 when I was 9. i still tune the guitar the same way to this day and most people don't know what it is.
Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs used to play this on their tv show back in the early 60's That's where I heard it for the first time. I always liked it and used to play it a lot.
@@noel5050 JC wasn't *always* any of those things, but few human beings are. It matters a great deal that he fought to regain the sobriety he abandoned, and eventually won. I heard this and many other songs when i grew up in 60's and 70's. My one older brother David (he passed away in 1990, age45, Illness) played Johnny Cash all the time. I just heard this song on the PBS special Country music, and I still miss someone. Love and miss you David !

Johnny Cash did a lot of great but I still miss someone it's my favorite
A haunting masterpiece that countless men and women can identify with. Johnny's greatest song in my opinion.
Agreed!
Agreed.

Definitely.

One of the most gorgeous keyboard solos ever. Haunting, regretful and somehow hopeful all at the same time.
Just a handful of Verses to express the most complicated feeling in the world perfectly. In my opinion one of the best love songs out there, Cash's voice is haunting.
Excellently put!
As Willie put it once: "Three chords & the Truth - that's what a Country song is..."
You captured it perfectly.
I SURE MISS SOMEONE-- YOU JOHNNY CASH😢

My wife of 35 Years died suddenly early this year. I have always loved his song. Even more in the last six months Arf

It would be impossible to say, but this might very well be the best Johnny Cash song. Definitely one of my favs.
It's my fave, and he wrote a lot of great songs.

Beautiful song, especially if you happen 78 and had a love of 48 years
Beautiful song that alot of people can relate to. I love the piano solo, that guy is a genius. Johnny Cash is king.
The world will never see anything like Johnny Cash ever again.
That sweet piano is the icing on this musical piece of cake - an absolutely beautiful song! Johnny and June will live forever in music heaven.

I still miss someone, more than he will ever know. I'm older now but he was in my heart all my life......
Me, too. More than he will ever know. And he won't give me a chance to explain

Jef Rey That fucking sucks for ur current woman, knowing it isn’t true love and you don’t fully love her
My husband passed in May 2006. He was my one true love. I miss him every day. & ache for him. This song says so much!
Seems some don't understand. The heart can love more than one person, but i think a strong friendship is as important as "love."
lol this got some funny replies
I Miss SOMEONE
Always been a favorite after my husband died even more so❤
I love this version more than the studio one and both versions, hit the heart hard.
I think the same, I would have left it on the Silver album but just him singing that song.
This song will always remind me of the great times I had with That someone.
Music doesn't get better than this! Absolutely one of my favorite songs ever
One of my all-time favorite Johnny Cash song.
This is perhaps the best version of this classic J C song , love the piano solo .
Beautiful sound, and great voice. Wonderful melody.
I love this guy such a pure voice
smooth as silk.. one of many Cash songs I never grow tired of.
Man...the memories I had with this song.I remember in November at school on the second story, sitting with my friend.

I still miss someone; you Johnny Cash.
I feel so sorry for people that don't like country.....
+Jim Eagling They're really missing out
I love Cash and absolutely hate country music. I feel sorry for people who put "Johnny Cash" and "country music" in the same sentence.
What are you talking about lol. That's like saying you feel sorry for people who put Zeppelin and rock & roll in the same sentence... What the fuck do you mean
Tristan Massing I absolutely agree. People who say Cash & Country music must be high. They're all stereotypical dumbasses.
Johnny Cash was not just Country, but I do love Country music.
I miss Storm McCroan, with wonderful blue eyes and arms that held me tenderly.
She tragically took her own life at twenty-three. Love you forever. :)
that voice - what a gift

Wow, my first time I heard him sing this song like this way. I wish he was still around, i never got a chance to see him live.
This was always my favorite of Johhny, but I like his earlier version. Thanks for the memory.
Way before my time. But thanks to Ken Burns, I found this song.

Going behind the iron curtain in '78 was huge. Johnny knew that music has no boundries
A co si myslíte,že se tady dělo?Nic,pracovali jsme,poslouchali hudbu,bavili se,zrovna jako vy😉
When Johnny Cash stood next to each US president, he commanded all the attention and eclipsed the Leader of the Free World.

NOBODY can sing this song right except Johnny Cash.
This's my one of the most favourite songs from J. Cash.
I STILL MISS SOMEONE
At my door the leaves are falling
A cold, wild wind will come
Sweethearts walk by together
And I still miss someone
I go out on a party
And look for a little fun
But I find the darkened corner
'Cause I still miss someone
Oh, I never got over those blue eyes
I see them everywhere
I miss those arms that held me
When all the love was there
I wonder if she's sorry
For leaving what we'd begun
There's someone for me somewhere
And I still miss someone
(Would be nice if he added one more verse : )
At my door the leaves are fallin'
a cold, wild wind will come
There's someone for me somewhere
But I still miss the one

Other than my love having "brown eyes", this song tells my life, for going into 7 years, now....I miss you, D...:(
