After watching another blogger, he suggested making a sandwich with the breakfast offerings and saving it for lunch! He would use the deli meat and cheese near the bagels with the bread from the toast station, then stash it for lunch later! Oh the things we do to get more value!! Lol.
One thing lacking in this video and analysis as to whether it's worth staying there is the cost. Yes you could eat all your meals there...but the reason the lounge is empty is because all the people paying the outrageous cost of those rooms also like to and can afford to eat at Narcoosee's, Citricos, California Grill..etc. So paying an extra $3-500 a night for a club room seems like a waste unless you do so with the intention of eating every meal there....because personally I'd rather drop $300 on a dinner every night in a deluxe restaurant on property...and just stay in regular room. I think a lot of people book this level as a status flex...and don't even maximize the value of what they are paying for. Edit..I just went to Disney website to look at booking a room for my wife and I on our Anniversary(we live 20 min from MK)...which to be fair is 3 days before Christmas...Least expensive club level at Grand Flo is $2000 a night while a regular room with same view is $1000. In no universe is this worth the cost unless you're fine with lighting money on fire.🔥
Very good point. We did club level at a universal hotel (i was using points so I could afford it lol) and it was a very good value because I saved a lot of money on buying meal options for my son in the parks (which is exorbitantly expensive - and I don't need to spend *40 on a meal so my son can just get mac n cheese lol). I could never afford club level at the grand floridian but if I did, I might never leave the hotel to go to the parks!!! lol.
You have to stay club level if you want to experience the main building in its entirety. As far as grand Floridian is concerned. The one time we stayed club level, it was because we didn’t feel like our would be complete sleeping in the gf buildings Other than the main one. Different priorities, thus different value. Not as if you have to do it every year lol
I’d be getting dressed up every visit to the lounge , hair make up and enjoy all the offerings as well ! I’d really ,see the most of it ! I love getting dressed up lol
I'm not understanding. What is worth that extra $1000 per night premium for club level. It can't be that mediocre food. Especially bags of chips you can get at Walmart and bring with you.
LOVEEEE watching your videos. You are our fav Disney vlogger because we are from Jersey too and you get good food! The discussion of Italian hot dogs was spot on!🤌🏻 Love how you are always so honest with your reviews and don't sugar coat it! Love from your home state
I agree with you on the Mickey bar Kristen. If they advertise it, it should exist! I'd run for a mint chip Mickey bar/ sandwich but the original not so much.
Years ago I worked at the Ritz Naples. This blows their club level away. Perhaps they upped their game in the last few years to stay competitive, but the food service was nowhere near this.
Girrrrl, yesss I know all about the Italian hot dogs!!! My family is Italian and we’re from NY so we call them “Jersey Dogs” lol! Our relatives from NJ introduced us to them and now we make them on every major bbq holiday! 🙌🏻
WOW that room is awesome. I figured that they would have Mickey waffles for breakfast. The lunch snacks are a sweet tooth heaven. It just kept getting better and better. Makes me want to blow the budget and break the bank to do a club level stay. I would eat about 10 mini hot dogs. That’s a cheat day 2 dogs 1 bread for keto. Thanks for a wonderful video and the transparency of your videos -Randy
I thought the food options looked fantastic! Club level at the Grand Floridian is VERY expensive - I was still wondering what type of value you thought you got from this, given how expensive it is, especially for a family traveling with kids, compared to staying somewhere else (like at Coronado (as you mentioned) (but which is further away from the parks themselves and you can only get there by bus)) or just staying as a regular guest.
Much appreciated overview! Always lookin' for documentation of the different club lounges and their offerings. Next time you're out on the West Coast, hope you'll have a chance to check out how the Clubs operate at the 'Land hotels. Might be a regional thing, but I don't think I've seen chips & salsa as a staple in the WDW Club videos whereas the Disneyland hotel lounges all feature 'em daily for lunch n' such.
Hey Kristin have done club level at the Contemporary and Poly. While enjoyed both didn’t feel it was worth hanging out there for more than short time. Quality not good enough for more than a mere stop in
I feel like club level stays really benefits locals who don't feel the need to go to the parks or people who plan to spend the whole day at the resorts. As a local, I absolutely love having a chill resort day with unlimited food & drink. It's like an all inclusive vacation 10 minutes down the road.
I thought the point of the CL was so you can self serve, including the alcohol beverages. Also, I think it was after covid that Disney stop putting all the beer and water bottles in the fridge for anyone to grab. But you can ask for these. You serve your own wine and champagne. This is not a restaurant experience, you don’t leave a tip. But some CMs do take it upon themselves to come to you and offer. But it’s nice that you do get that at Coronado Springs… I’ve done CL at the Poly 2-4 times and I loved it every time. I wish one day (far away 😂) wget to stay CL at the Grand Floridian.
Oh cool, they have COPPOLA wine. I saw an ad on youtube recently. once upon a time, i used an empty cardboard case of COPPOLA wine to hold stuff from Goodwill outlet
Back in the day, before COVID they used to bring out a sweet afternoon tea which comprised of scones with jam and cream, jam tarts and a different trifle each day. I only know this by watching old UTube videos. One day I hope to stay there! Thank you for the excellent video x
They did this at the club level at the Grand?! I know they used to have an afternoon tea experience, but didn't know they did it in the club lounge too!
Yes, they did it right up until we were hit with Covid. When they re-opened Club level it was with scaled back offerings unfortunately. The Afternoon Tea served in Club used to be a real highlight with fresh warm scones, a selection of jams and cream and a trifle very day. It was the only Club lounge to have 5 presentations. Also at breakfast they used to have someone on the Club floor make fresh pancakes and waffles which were absolutely delicious. I sure miss how it used to be! Thanks for your video - it was useful to see the detail of what the Club is like now - we are staying in November this year, so can't wait! (even though its changed I'm sure it will still be great!) 😊@@wrightdownmainstreet
Wow -- what's the exact room category you reserved? And is it in Sago Cay or Conch Key? AND would love a club level review of polynesian from you. Thanks for the great report.
My husband and I were married at The Wedding Pavilion and we stayed club level. It was amazing and I had a different experience with the service than you did, they were all over us all the time asking if we needed anything. This was in 2011 so it seems things have gone downhill and that's sad. For the price point, they really need to be more attentive!
@@wrightdownmainstreet that is so disappointing . We are currently planning a trip back to the grand. We had a similar experience at yacht club last stay, and we were going back to the grand. Now maybe we will switch.
Indifferent service in the GF Club level is probably a victim of the US tipping culture. Staff can earn so much more through tips if they are working in any of the GF's highly priced restaurants and bars. The Club lounge could be regarded as the worst gig for hospitality staff at the resort because it is likely to be hourly-rate positions. Meanwhile over at Narcossee or Citrico, a table of 4 with 3 courses, cocktails/wine will be drawing a $100+ tip.
Haven’t stayed club level at the GF in years. Looks like they have upped the choices for breakfast but the champs should be flowing for the price of club level and the lunch offering should have some sandwiches at the very least. Love Italian hot dogs!
I was watching the video and, towards the end, saw a white-haired cast member in the background of your shot. Holy smokes, it’s Irv, who is an absolute LEGEND when it comes to CL CM’s. I hope you got to meet him! What a gentleman and total gem of a human being. Irv would’ve refilled your champagne for sure!
We have stayed club level in the Sugarloaf building at the Grand Floridian twice & we did not have candy or water on tap! There’s way more offerings in the main building apparently!
@@wrightdownmainstreet All of the Disney World hotels are overpriced. I would still choose to stay at the Pop Century Resort. You get the best value and also have access to the Skyliner.
The views looked amazing. Do you have any other videos of club level? If you had to pick all around value, service, and food selection what club level would you recommend? Thanks for taking us along.
I have videos of Wilderness Lodge & Coronado on my page! Coronado no doubt is #1. It is the cheapest out of all the clubs so the value is fantastic, the service is the best service potentially at all of Disney World, the food is solid but nothing to write home about. But when you factor all of those together, it still comes out on top in my opinion. Out of the ones I've stayed at (Animal Kingdom Lodge, Contemporary, Grand, Coronado, Wilderness Lodge, Poly)
Wow, thanks for the awesome detail. I would love to stay there in the two bedroom. There are a couple categories of the two bedroom club. That last category only has two suites and are on the ground floor but if you remember which building you were in, I would to book the proper two bedroom category and request that building. We've stayed Club level at Boardwalk and Coronado and by far Coronado is our favorite, especially for service. The layout at the GF Lounge is disjointed but what a view! But, you should not have been lacking for alcohol if you wanted it. In my opinion that is one thing that makes Club level worth the value.
Kristen, I remember how you said that club level at Coronado Springs was far and above everything else at club level but I’m curious if Coronado had the same items available to you as at the grand Floridian? My apologies if someone already asked this and you’ve already answered it.
