That is in fact one vocalist, ben duerr, and he is a god lol
The chorus with the less harsh vocals is their guitarist as well

It’s crazy. I thought there was two and watched the live video. Idk how his voice does that

Ben Duer is one of the top vocalists in deathcore. Heretic Prevails really shows his range. Chris Wiseman is the guitarist and composes the music. He also is in Currents (and writes much of the music as well)

That one's a little newer so it would be pretty cool to see how the band has evolved. It's in the list :)

The opening to this song is truly master class. The amazing build up to the verse. The screaming and singing is amazing. This song is amazing

  • @Benobot99

Their guitarist does the lighter vocals, and the lyrics are actually very cool. They tell a story across the album, and the vocabulary of the lyricist (lead singer) is pretty vast.

If you liked their sound and are interested in more, my personal favorites are The Catacombs, The Horror Within, and Barren and Breathless Macrocosm. Don’t feel bad about not picking up their lyrics, I too don’t often understand death/deathcore without text for the lyrics.

Chill, he's never heard this band before and he was only judging by the logo. Plus this gives off major blackmetal vibes and without the breakdowns in their new album the only deathcore thing about it is the vocals.

I'm planning on doing a full week of JRock/JMetal so yes Babymetal will fit right in. And I'm glad you suggested something other than Gimme Chocolate and Karate. Not that I think those are bad songs (I haven't listened to anything from this band yet) but they are the singles and I honestly prefer to react to the songs that didn't get picked for marketing reasons.

@@CriticalReactions Sweet thank you, i like those tracks too but this one is unique, if you have the lyrics with you you will understand the reason behinde the...ok will stop myself i dont want to spoil it for but when you play it can you do the live version with the mischief of gods intro as i know you will appreciate it more th-cam.com/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/w-d-xo.html ...Also stoked your doing a J metal week🤘 i will make sure to watch. If you haven't got Maximum the Hormone on your J Metal week than you need to add them they are insanely good especially this live concert they did in japan thats really hard to find on TH-cam, ill do some digging and see if i can find it and link it here, even if you dont react to it you should definitely check them and the concert out👌🤞🏼🤘

Right now I have Band-Maid, LadyBeard, and BabyMetal on the list. I need two more bands so Maximum the Hormone might go on the list. I've been searching for bands and I've found Dir En Grey, Despair's Ray, and Cyntia but I don't know which ones to do, there are soooo many :)
Just a heads up, I'll be doing the studio versions of these bands since I'm interested in the intended resulting art rather than the one that ends up getting heard live which tends to have compromises such as not enough instruments (if they double tracked some of the performers), lost control over sound (since it is designed to project to an entire crowd and must be loud) or any other issues. I might watch a live performance for entertainment reasons but for an analysis I'd prefer the highly controlled studio version.

Try watching the lyric videos while reacting to it, what is amazing about the singing is how clear all of it is once you see the lyrics
