Why do we 3 bet more the bigger the open?

Well that is obviously assuming the same open range. If they go bigger our odds for calling become worse while the money that can be earned by taking the pot down preflop is now more. Therefore, we should 3b more and call less. However, if someone open bigger with a stronger range and smaller with a weaker one this principle doesn't apply anymore

Well this assumes ranges are the same. It is because odds for calling become worse, while there's more money to be won by taking the pot down preflop.
However, if someone opens smaller with a weaker range and bigger with a stronger one this won't apply anymore.

The audio is poor, have you listened to yourself on TH-cam? It is like there is a slight echo or something. Turning up the volume would make it worse.
