Premiers in Canada could be working together to eliminate intraprovincial trade barriers. Some economists estimate it would increase the GDP in Canada by 4-7%. That increase in GDP would more than cover our commitment, plus potential increases, to NATO.

The best resolution for Canada is for Alberta to become independent. Alberta's share of Canada's debt is likely a wash with Alberta's share of the Canada Pension Plan. Vive L' Alberta Libre.

I am with 90% of Canadians who think that the idea is a bit far fetched. Getting America to pay the anywhere close to the value suggested would never happen. Yes we may have to pay more for our military NATO obligations sooner than later.

Its so disheartening to hear some of them again disregarding Alberta's standpoint about rhis retaliation, but I loved how Conrad point out about how Albertans suffered so much about how the federal go on war against Alberta's oil and gas. Maybe if they support Alberta before, we won't see this mess. So much for Alberta bearing the burden of Canada and being ignored.

Trans Mountain, besides all other subsidies, paid with all of Canadians money will allow an additional 1 million barrel a day to be exported to Asia. I believe that Alberta can support some level of export tariffs that will not even hurt the volume but that will bring in some cash that will help the trade war we need to wage.

The US has enough trouble. Can you imagine the size of the problem if we were all one country. You can be sure of one thing; we would be sucked up and invisible. No more provinces but states. How do we explain to our forefathers who fought or died for Canada in WW 1 and 2. Lest we forget. We are 2 nations for a very good reason. We don't share a common history and as a result we think very differently about important issues. I hope I never live to see the day when I lose my Canada.❤

Canadians need to be ashamed of their sovereignty to the so-called British crown which is anachronistic.
Canada's sovereignty is closely tied to the so-called British crown, which is the embodiment of the country's monarch and form of government.
Although the British monarch was the head of state, in practice, his or her functions were exercised in the colony by the colonial Governor, who acted on instructions from the British government in London.
During its three centuries of empire, Britain greedily invaded many countries and killed more people than were killed during WWII.
The history of the so-called English royals is intertwined with slavery.
The slave-trading initiatives endorsed by the English monarchy began with Elizabeth I’s enthusiastic support of John Hawkins’ slaving expeditions in the 1560s.
In three separate voyages backed by government officials, London merchants, and Elizabeth I, Hawkins raided African settlements on the West African coast and seized hundreds of enslaved captives from Portuguese ships.
In defiance of Portugal’s slave trade in Africans, Hawkins sold his cargo of African captives in the Spanish Caribbean. After his profitable second voyage,
Elizabeth I honored Hawkins with a coat of arms and crest featuring a nude African bound with rope.
Throughout Britain's African slave trading days, Britain SHIPPED OVER THREE AND ONE HALF MILLION SLAVES TO THE Americas.
Over half a million slaves' lives were lost during the Atlantic crossing.
Between 1689 and 1807,1,053 British vessels were lost whilst undertaking slave-trading activities.
The transatlantic slave trade by the British was the one of the largest forced relocation of human beings in history.
Britain DID NOT END SLAVERY UNTIL THE 1920s.
To fuel the growing first-world sugar industry of the late 1800s, Britain enslaved 1.3 million Indians then shipped them to labor on sugar plantations in Mauritius, South Africa, the Caribbean, Guyana, and Fiji.
This was known as Indentured Servitude which was another name for SLAVERY AND IT DID NOT END UNTIL THE 1920s.
Like the African slaves, these Indian slaves were also brutally treated by the British.

Canada has a free Panama Canal in the north and we're not making a cent from it when the Northwest Passage should be making Canada hundreds of billions of dollars a year. This would also create jobs.
18:01 Trump is a backstabber and Canada should cut all import and export trade with the USA immediately. All of it.
Short term pain for long term gain.
There is not one product the USA provides that we can't get from someone else.
Canada's oil and gas should be shipped to Asia and Europe at market value bringing us hundreds of billion of dollars more than we make from selling it at a discount to the USA, then buying the gasoline back at an inflated price.
Canada could and should have gasoline refineries and have the lowest gas prices in the first world. Pipelines should be built from the oil, natural gas and gasoline source to the Northwest passage, not East and West over Rocky mountains, and shipped to worldwide customers from there.
We don't need America for anything.
All this new free revenue should be used to cut taxes and build a real military and a shipyard to build aircraft carriers and submarines to protect our own borders.
Our current low dollar already makes operating a business in Canada cheaper than in the USA, but we're not taking advantage of anything smart. That needs to change immediately.

      The Solution.
One impressive way to boost the economy of the big landmass and the wealth of its people, America and Canada,
would be to wipe away the border between these two great countries which,
      STUNTS PROGRESS
      DIVIDES PEOPLE,
      RESTRICTS FREEDOM,
and CREATES TENSION at times. - To prove these points all that one has to do is to read some of the posters' comments on the various videos.
JUST THINK of Canadians as well as people from other nations who have gone to America to seek their fame and fortune and have been successful.
A prime example would be S. African born Musk who spent three years in Canada, went to America to seek his fame and fortune and is likely to become the world's first trillionaire.
Elon Musk or some other wealthy person with influence should be able to get this unification movement started.
Canada has a shrinking GDP per capita which is a key indicator of prosperity, a weakening Canadian dollar, a weak military, inflation issues, national debt has doubled, an increasing cost of living and housing crisis.
Canada is so dependent on the USA for its trade that it might as well join the USA.
Some Canadians still think that they need a ( USELESS king ) ' hovering ' over them in these modern times who lives on a faraway island and does nothing for them but what they really do need are lower taxes, a strong economy as well as a strong (American) military to protect the arctic.
Ownership of the Arctic means nothing if you can't defend it and Canada does not have the military to defend it, so the Arctic is fully dependent on the US for its protection.
In April 2021 Putin filed a submission to extend a claim to the Arctic, all the way into the Canadian and Greenland (Denmark) continental shelf and economic zone, as part of Russia's continental shelf.
This is a situation where they're claiming the entire Arctic Canadian and Danish continental shelf as part of the Russian continental shelf.
In 2018 Beijing agreed it would cooperate with Russia on a new Arctic silk route to connect Europe with Asia, signing 20 bilateral documents and agreeing to invest in the region.
As part of this, Beijing will build several Chinese docks across Russia's north in ports.
Russia demands permission for ships to use the Northern Passage including the use of Russian pilot ships.
Putin wants control of the Arctic trade routes and the natural resources in the Arctic which would create arctic dominance and it would threaten the USA.
America is the only country so far that has put 12 men on the moon, returned them safely to earth again and that was more than 50 years ago, so don't underestimate America.
It is a very generous nation. One notable example would be the Marshall Plan which financed the rebuilding of western European nations after the devastation of WWII.
America is the most powerful country in the world, not just military, but economically and also has the world's biggest economy.
It is also the country which has won the highest number of olympic medals, the country from which the highest number of nobel prize winners have come and also the country whose American companies have made the largest impact on the world.
In 2024, nine out of ten of the world's wealthiest people were Americans and there were 813 billionaires in America which is twice as many as the next country, China.
If America and Canada united, it would be the world's largest country and would be over one million square miles larger than Russia.
What a huge 'playground' we all would have with no border to restrict us-!
      This would be FREEDOM.
United we Stand, Divided we Fall.

Hear hear. There is no way I want to be American - our social heritage and social future is so much different. And yes I would be willing to eat turnips for my vitamin C instead of orange juice. And until we build the pipelines we need use an expanded fleet of rail cars. Europe needs our raws so we should forge more links with them as well as east Asia and South America.
And internally we need to repair relations with Alberta.
Total agreement with North west passage - a fleet of icebreakers and destroyers to limit and grant access.
Maybe use Hudson’s Bay as a shipping point to use the NW passage.
Look at Sweden - similar geography, our GDP and population is 4x and they make cars, military jets - we could be all that plus we have oceans of oil!

@@LapinDebogues Exactly. I supported Trump in his campaign because a lot of what he says is true, but he never campaigned on this nuttiness he's saying since. He conned the voters. He's threatened unarmed countries. He's a terrorist. He should be arrested. The entire world should block all import and exports to the USA until Trump is gone. Greenland should've arrested Trump Jr when he visited there this month. He should've been flown to Denmark and held until Trump surrendered to face trial. We don't deal with terrorists, a US policy.
While all Canadian politicians are in a panic not one of them offer a solution. Look at the solutions I offered. We grown our economy, create jobs, protect our borders which is what Trump wanted. The Northwest passage doesn't even need to be built, it's already there, it doesn't need lift locks, we only need ice breakers. This would generate over 8 billion a year Canadian in revenue just from passage fees.
The Northwest passage saves ships 2 weeks of travel, over 5000kms, and over $80,000 US in fuel.
When opportunity knocks', you open the door. Trump did us a favour threatening us. It showed the anti everything tree huggers that it's been a mistake relying on one trading partner.
It's time for change my friends. A REEL JUSTICE change!

I feel like these people are underestimating public opinion. They keep stating that such a vast majority would say no that it's a non starter. That may have been true decades ago, but given how large the immigration rate has been in the past 2 generations I believe there are actually good chances that a majority would vote to merge. The truth is a lot of immigrants came to Canada because it was easier than the US. The US was their first option, but due to the difficulty they settled with Canada as a second option. Those immigrants have all become citizens since then and have voting rights. Add that with the Canadians that are tired of a high cost low reward Canadian life who would also vote to merge and you have a considerable amount of people that would say yes. Honestly I think they're scared to do a vote and thus don't even bring it up to actually do it.

Just think how problem free Canada would be now if the British had never divided the big landmass into two countries, Canada and America.
The British divided India and Pakistan and there has been fighting ever since with many deaths.
The British divided the middle east and there has been fighting ever since with many deaths.
The British divided Ireland and there has been fighting with many deaths.
The same goes for other areas of the world where the British invaded during their three centuries of their greedy empire when more people were killed in these countries. More people were killed during the three centuries of the British empire than were killed during WWII.
Now it appears that Comeuppance time has finally come to the British Isles for their brutal colonial past with their little country going down the tube.

    DIVIDE PEOPLE,
    RESTRICT FREEDOM,
and CREATE TENSION at times. - To prove these points all that one has to do is to read some of the posters' comments on the various videos.

NATO’s Article 5 Collective Defense Obligations, language is relatively flexible. It permits each NATO member to decide for itself what action should be taken to address an armed attack on a NATO ally. It does not require any member to respond with military force, although it permits such responses as a matter of international law.
In other word's expect no help from any other nation.
Canadians can't win against the US annexation. The question come down to, if it happens, who will be allowed American citizenship.
